Hi Augustin, I'd be happy to help, which parts are you having trouble with? I recently added a tutorial on creating a brush to add the sparkles you see in the advanced version I showed at the end th-cam.com/video/-_S34Y1FCIg/w-d-xo.html and you can download the project files for that including the finished advanced example file and brush for free here: www.patreon.com/posts/112308020
This is a very cool video. I have never used Adobe Illustrator before but feel like I could give it a try without being totally lost if I followed this video.
Hey Skylar, thanks for the question! I always meant to come back and add a tutorial for that so I made this write up and polished the brush file for free so you can take a look: vectorart.academy/sparkle-scatter-brush-adobe-illustrator/ let me know if you have any questions! ~Kat
Hi there! So sorry for the late reply, I just made circles with the ellipse tool and filled them with the swatch colors and moved them just outside the artboard. Usually I put these on another layer and lock it just so it's easy to use the eyedropper tool with shift to grab the colors. Hope that helps!
Hi Numan, great question! Using this particular set up you wouldn't be able to save it with transparency since there are colors are present in the gradient. You could use a similar technique and replace all of the colors in the gradient with white (or whatever color you want your spotlight to be) and adjust the opacities but it doesn't generally give you the same richness of color in the final image. Here is a quick example file of that: www.dropbox.com/s/m37eku488shwr9p/Transparent%20Spotlight%20Setup.ai?dl=0 If you turn off visibility of the black background layer and go to File > Export As then choose PNG with transparency you can see how that works.
