The record is 7 can't remember who , but she's tied for 2nd w/ DT. She'll probably break it , and she's tied for most 3's made in a game by a rookie. She'll probably break that as well.

Also, Maravich played only 3 seasons in college, and Maravich averaged 44.2 points per game. Clark played 4 seasons, and she averaged 28.3 points per game.
And, although Maravich made many baskets beyond the existing 3 point line, he played in an era when there was no 3 point line.

It doesn't have anything to do with her talents as a player. They're probably okay with the attention as such because more attention means more money. For that matter, who knows if she actually will be the best player in the league. The problem some of them have is that there is double standard at work. Men can be ungentlemanly- and unsportsman- like and it is accepted. Women are expected to always adhere to a very high standard of character and conduct.
Not saying the women in the WNBA have low standards, but a new fan base, and one that is perhaps less knowledgeable about sports in general, in other words, there to follow Caitlin Clark's career, means more scrutiny and the elevation of those players who possess a little feminine gentilesse.
More interest means more money and higher salaries, but the arrival of Clark means the end of one world and beginning of another. No one is going to lose their job. They're all there because they can play. But life will not be the same.

A month or two before the last WNBA draft, a TH-camr had made a video claiming that what the WNBA needs for success is a star, like a Larry Bird or Michael Jordan, that draws an audience. Well, he got his wish, at least for now. The WNBA players should be praying for Ms. Clark's success, as she is "showing them the money". That will only be good for them financially.
I was skeptical of that TH-camr's solution for the WNBA's audience draw. But Ms. Clark is proving him right. I just hope she doesn't flame out and stays healthy. That also means the hard fouls have got to stop. If they don't stop with the hard fouls, they are shooting themselves in the foot AND their wallet.

I watched the highlights of last night's game the Fever played as a team. Early in the season they didn't look like a team. Go Fever.
She is getting better by each game. She is driving into the paint much more often and scoring and teammates are getting used to her passes. But her teammates are missing layups. Clark and Boston need better players around them and a better head coach.
