Think what a better place the world would be for everyone, especially young people - if Michael Jordan had cared about human rights and equality, instead of using his platform to hock poisonous hamburgers and force Chinese people to make shoes.
SPORTS ARE FUN. NOT IMPORTANT. THEY ARE NOT SACRED.

Do you honestly think she gone be able to just focus on basketball? They only put players or entertainers on a pedestal, that have influence over a segment of society and she will have to use that influence when they tell her too. They are pissed because of a shoe deal Nike made with Caitlin that awarded Caitlin with big money! Did they expect her to turn down the deal ? Caitlin just broke the all time point leader in college basketball and who do you think Niki aiming to get? Nike recently posted a $28 billion dollar loss in stock value. They have decided to pivot out of the social justice game and back into selling shoes. We all see the army of little girls wearing 22 jerseys at the Fever games. So does Nike. Clarkonomics has replaced Wokeonomics. The culture war is over.

Caitlin Clark is the Canary in the Cultural Mine. This is a bigger, deeper story than basketball now.
How we treat her reveals how toxic the air has become. Clark is a quintessential Iowa, she is humble, good humored, loyal and charitable. - The first toxic wave was revealed in the '23 tournament: I was SHOCKED when Dawn Staley tried to frame Coach Bluder as racist/and slighted Clark/team/Iowans for NO REAON. . .This went viral and soon (some) from SC and LSU bought into Staley's bigotry. . . Iowans are VERY mellow and open to be friends with anyone, however... Iowans have no back down. This wasn't going to work out for Staley (and her Bully Club followers) the way it usually does, where they get to throw stone and get away with it. Iowans don't back down from bullies. We don't back down because they are grounded, and we know we have earned our ground. (We do, every year as farmers). - We are just as grounded in our support of youth/athletes - grounded in ethics - and more than tough from a foundation of actual hard work/knowing how to live through generations of winters (and for most boys a lot of wrestling) and for most girls support that they can do anything they set themselves to. These are the shoulders that Caitlin Clark stands upon.
This Honor Culture, shared by Iowans (and Many Others all over the Country), has now brought a new light onto the dark corners of the WNBA. Now we see - the WNBA has been run by a Bully Club - along with Staley and the HS talent-monopoly club. This Bully Club acts as the big fish in the small pond. But Clark broke the barrier that held this pond in - through Clark's courage - the pond overflows and is becoming something bigger. The Bully Club now desperately wants to retain control and since Clark is beyond their control they are trying EVERYTHING to either subdue, break, or ice her out. It won't work. Clark has a MUCH bigger ocean of support behind her: a culture of honor and strong, if usually quiet, people who can't be moved by small fish, who have a strong (old-fashioned) sense of social justness, and who know what it takes to take down bullies. This is MUCH bigger than Clark, but she is caught in the middle of it. The Bully Club has used Institutionalized Abuse to subdue the league - where every rookie class must both take the abuse and then join the abusing of the next class, in order to be admitted to the Club. Clark won't do this. She won't react in kind, even if they hit her - once, twice, even dozens of time. She sees the other shore. It's not right, these dirty deep weeds they now pull her into - the physical abuse. Nor is the social bullying, icing out, or all of it. But Clark knows that this is more than her now. It is the league that needs reform. There has been a silent majority of women basketball players who have long suffered the Bully Club's abuse. They would have wanted the league to be a normal professional one: challenging but clean, passionate but sportsmanlike. They would have called for this if they had had the backing. Now they do. (Although, through all the noise, many don't now this - they don't know that WE are also here for THEM.)
The main issue now is the issue of Clarity, or lack of clarity, amidst the smokescreen of all this noise. The Bully Club has used the shield of social games - "we're not bullies, we're victims, and those are the bad people...like Clark..." - to insulate themselves. Some people, fans, people not looking to see what's in the dark waters spreading around, are taking those manipulative words at face value. This has led some to believe that Iowan fans would not support all of women (of any background). We have to bring clarity through this noise. We have to communicate with good and effective sense. We need to cut the smokescreen that they would divide us with. If we make real connections, even and especially with people from different backgronds, we will recognize that we all want the same things. We want to see good sport, for ALL of the women (of all backgrounds) where they can feel safe, supported, respected and then play to the best of their genius.
But first, we have to be smart enough to see all of this through, to maintain clarity through the noise of battle (a mostly communication battle) and then we need to form the clear & simple ideas for what must be done - Together we must push the expectation that the WNBA must reform to meet as a new standard that isn't just good enough for Clark, but is good enough for all of the women.

It’s funny that Serena, Venus, Naomi Saka, and Simone Biles have all had to deal with the very same thing that Caitlin is going through. This is racism in reverse. Basketball was dominated by blacks when Larry Bird came in and laid down the law. Those who are not just talented, but have a certain charisma about them, and can bring fans like Caitlin, will stand out from the rest. With Oprah being the richest black female self made billionaire, Rihanna also being a self made billionaire, and Michael Jordan being the richest athlete (black or white), y’all are not going to convince me that this Caitlin situation is about her being white. It is about her having the skill and likability that makes people want to watch who has never watched before. I, in almost 30yrs have NEVER wanted to watch an WNBA game even though I loved watching highlights of Lisa Leslie. Some folks just love being victims. Caitlin Clark's should be viewed in perspective to the fact that she has only one teammate, Alijah Boston.
No hyperbole the rest of her squad is the worst. Whether it's ineptness, incompetence, or merely grossly selfish like Kelsey Mitchell and Erica Wheeler.
And of course this doesn't even take into account the worst coach in the WNBA. No exaggeration when your coach a so called defensive specialist can't coach defense you know your in trouble.
Caitlin needs to demand that the GM and the Coach are fired or she will terminate the contract.
The WNBA cannot afford to lose Caitlin Clark to the Big 3 and to Europe. In fact Caitlin could play in Europe, Asia and Russia etc and become the biggest name in women's basketball.
Imagine her playing for Italy in the Olympics that's another nightmare scenario. 😂❤

To start, this is a very well-edited video. However, videos like this contribute to the toxic discourse surrounding Clark. In this deep dive, many points lack nuance and merely rehash the same talking points about Clark.
First, the claim that 'Clark is targeted because she isn't black, lesbian, or an activist.' There are indeed players who dislike Clark, with Reese being a notable example. However, their criticism isn't primarily due to the factors mentioned; it's more about her receiving attention and endorsements despite not being one of the league's top players. Some jealousy stems from this objective comparison based on athletic accolades. Furthermore, Clark is accepted in the WNBA, as evidenced by praise from players like the black lesbian guard from Dallas, mentioned on Shannon's podcast with Ocho. Positive comments like these should be highlighted more in deep dive videos, rather than focusing solely on negativity.
    2. "The idea that Clark's endorsements have nothing to do with her race is often misunderstood. Extremes exist on both sides of this argument. On one extreme, some suggest she only receives attention because she's white, which overlooks her skill and exciting play style. On the other hand, denying any racial influence in her endorsements is also inaccurate. For instance, Mike Trout in baseball, despite being considered one of the best players, faces higher marketability standards due to historically white-dominated demographics in the sport. Similarly, Clark stands out in a predominantly black league, which aids in her marketability. This isn't to discredit her talent but to recognize how demographics can impact marketing strategies. This nuanced perspective is crucial when discussing this topic.
    3. "Regarding the WNBA's handling of Clark, there's a degree of truth in the criticism. However, pushing one person as the face of the league can backfire, as seen in the NBA's over-reliance on LeBron. Clark's fanbase sometimes prioritizes her persona over the game itself, as demonstrated by reactions to her performance and presence on the court. Long-term growth requires a balanced marketing approach that includes Clark without making her the sole focus. Highlighting rivalries like the Reese-Clark feud could be beneficial in engaging fans more broadly.
    4. It may seem that most sports fans don't want racial conflicts in the game. However, discussions about Clark often center around race, which raises questions. Many popular videos about Clark stray from analyzing her game to using her name in political debates. Both right-wing critics of the WNBA and left-wing commentators critical of Clark's attention tend to focus on race, contributing to the perception of a 'race war' narrative in sports. This contradiction suggests that while fans may claim to oppose such conflicts, their attention and discussions often perpetuate them."
Those are my full thoughts and they are pretty long. Hopefully we can move past the toxicity and just enjoy women's basketball because it's on the rise and this extra stuff isn't needed.

When a player says Clark wasn't chosen for the Olympics because she didn't have an NCAA championship, they are saying Larry Bird isn't one of the best in history, because he played for a nothing college like Indiana State, as Clark did at Iowa, thus never won a championship. Never mind that he brought that team to the brink of a championship, as did Clark, and it took a stacked Michigan State roster, as it took stacked LSU and South Carolina rosters for Clark, to defeat them.
I think you hit it right on the head of the nail. They don't hate on her for her popularity, they are going to benefit from that. They don't hate on her for her skill, that's a fools game. They hate on her because she has a platform, and instead of using it for a cause, she uses it to promote the sport. And that, in a nutshell, may be why she's so popular. People don't watch sport to be a part a cause, they watch sport for the sport. Once the WNBA learns that, the talent is there to make this a popular league.

People who play good basketball understand there is nothing special about her play. She has AI on her side. Many just don’t see it yet.

2:30 for real how racist and slow can the media continue to be to not cover the talent in other races but only show black people as bad because a group of black men in Tennessee robbed a 7 11- Ex then that same news story is believed to be the way every black person wants to be when it’s just so twisted. I applauded her for what she said I really do because if it wants true I don’t think she would have said it and along with other women who are not even in the NBA

Only real take I am willing to share is about the Olympics. she should pick three rookies to go, Reese, Clark and Cardosa, but I don't know is cardosa would play for a different country or not. If some of the older players in the Wnba would give up the Olympic team spot it would be huge $$$ and more eyes on the Wnba. Not seeing team USA losing here. if the U18 American women's basketball team is winning games by 100 points the odds are excellent that our pros will do extremely well. I think some of this problem is Young players vs vets as well.

WNBA/Olympic committee is fortunate that she’s loyal and didn’t hop on team Italy for the Olympics, which she could have done. But she’s not jealous or petulant like those who are willing to cut off their nose to spite their own face. She just wants to play and grow the game in the eyes of the public. All I hear is I-me-me-mine at a time when the word should be “WE”. The world is watching in amazement and so is Italy.

1st: @FrankMichaelSmith you are awesome and I love your content. You are always telling it like it is and that is rare these days. GOD BLESS.
As someone who went to the same high school as her, ( she graduated right before my freshman year) and knows her family, it is not a shock that all she wants is to play ball, and be the best at it. The Clarks are family that values their privacy and hard work.
If the WNBA doesnt want her, they will be the ones that suffer.

Caitlin Clark. Outrageous talent and skill. Ridiculous passion and commitment. Outstanding connection with and interaction with the fans. New fast paced style of play versus the old boring bump and grind. Never heard of A’ja Wilson before Caitlin and Kate came along but now I’m kind of curious. BTW Kate Martin is an amazing human!

If CC becomes just another activist in a jersey, her hype dies immediately.
The WNBA executives should do everything in their power to make sure Caitlin remains politically neutral and marketable.
Any other direction would be an act of self sabotage rarely seen in business.

I find it interesting how the top star of the women's league has to be the absolute perfect role model, yet Patrick Mahomes, Lebron James and all the other men all-stars get to have a no distractions mindset and be praised as instant heroes.
There's only one male all star that i can think of that tries to be an "activist" and it's Aaron Rodgers. Look how well that's gone for him...
