Hey guys, I wanted to say thank you for all of your support! That gives me a lot of energy and motivation! If theres anything you got for me (critic, hints and tips, lovely words, tools to restore or just a nice comment) feel free to leave it in the comment section or contact me by email! PS: What type of rustproofing mirrorpolished tools is your favorite? Car Wax? Plating? Oil? Leave your answer in the comments :-)
Great results Mr P! Another restoration that inspires me. I think oil is my favorite rust inhibitor. All those you mentioned are equally good I'm sure. Please keep the videos coming, I've almost watched them all and enjoyed every one of them! Thank you for sharing your expertise.
Nice.... I've reworked such pliers that were totally rusted closed. It takes a lot of effort just to get them moving again. You made this one look better then new. Thumbs Up!
0:59 When my friend say It's your last shot than you can go home and that is what he give me a last shot. and that day I just know how to teleport from bar to my room 🤣🤣🤣🤣
A bit late to the party, but as per usual, great job! I swear growing up every pair of pliers my parents had were as rusty as this one was at the start hahaha
Excellent as always! One question, if I protect a bare metal surface with oil, how much Time can hold against Rust? Thank you! Greatings from Argentina
here are some tips that i think might help you in the future: 1. leave it in vinegar way longer (1-2 days) than before 2. use the wire wheel right after the vinegar bath 3. id use the files as a finishing touch to smoothen out the edges
Good job, one tip.wd40 is only good for repelling water. It's a shit lubricant and even worse penatrating oil . Make you own 100 times better. 1 part automatic transmission oil, 1 part acetone, much cheaper as well. Nice touch not playing crap music.
Mister Patina, Congratulations on another fine project with an excellent result, but there is something I have to say and as a subscriber I feel at liberty to say that the sandblasting is a highlight for me but there is something about your camera shot of it that just won't do. Its dark and unclear, I want to see it clearly. Another thing, your fine compound brought a nice shine to the handles of the pliers but I would have liked to have seen rubber grips on them. Anyway, carry on.
Hey royo, the problem with my sandblasting cabinet is, that i dont have an air suction, so it looks pretty dusty. But i´ll get a new one the next time :-)
Klasse restaurierte Zange!

I never thought I would be so invested in a pair of rusty plyers.
Oil is my favourite treatment for metal, and wood too 👍
Good as new! Something most people would have thrown away. Thanks! 👍🏼
Thanks Mike! 🙂👍
Surgical finish! Lovely…..
A box joint is a mark of quality so definitely worth restoring which you did beautifully.

A lot of work for a cheap old pair of pliers, but a good video.
Thanks Gerry 🙂

Thanks Bro! Same here, and I really don’t understand why. But just the small Pliers, the big ones were always shiny 😄😄
Uuuu.... Shiny, shiny, shiny... I bet it gonna be valuable exchange accepted by the hill n gate troll (to the elven n underworlds).
Trabalho técnico
Muito Obrigado!

Oh, it depends on how often you’ll use it.
@@misterpatina Thank you!
Another fantastic restoration! Curious, the symbol stamped into the pliers, wondering what brand they were or what it means.
Love your work!
Hey Chris, thanks a lot! I’ve never seen this brand before, unfortunately my research wasn’t successful too :-(
@@misterpatina that logo is very familiar to me. I have some old tools and I think I've seen that symbol on one of my tools.
What does it look like inside the jaws? Thanks for your great posts!
10-12 horas

MARAVILHA DE PEÇA.
Very nice. I'm curious about your choice to remove rust with vinegar rather than citric, oxalic or even hydrochloric acid?
Nice done. Could have been better with handle grips
Fine steel wool will be an ok replacement for fine scotch bright, right?
Yes, the finish should be the same :-)
Don't sandblast moving parts, kids
Yup, could get crunchy.
What are the gloves you wear coated with in the sand blasting Machine?
i dont know, these are the "regular" sandblast cabinet gloves
Still got a lot of scratches probably from the file. Is it possible to get a perfect finish with no scratches whatsoever?
2nd Pliers
I am wondering why you did not put rubber handles for this particular pliers.
~ eeeel vinegaaare ~
Pastorino jewellery pliers.
What is the purpose of those duck bill pliers? I have two pairs. They are smooth with no teeth. Anyone?
Probably for doing safety wire. Smooth jaws won't nick the wire.
Wasn’t that the thing you used as the electrode for the beef cleaver?
No that was another Pliers 😄
👍💪👏🇧🇾

When you sandblasted what grit do you consider "very fine"?
Thanks for your comment Tom! The granules i used got 0,1-0,3mm.
don't use vinegar for derusting, use citric acid, works a heaven better
How long did it take you to restore that?
Oh that was a quick one, around 10 hours?
