South Africa, Durban, Aliwal Shoal. Humpback whale dance

I took this footage a year ago. It wasn't the best visibility day, but it was by far the best dive I've ever experienced in my 22 years of diving. It was during our annual whale season in August 2022 on a dive site called Landers, which is one of our less-visited Southern reefs. It's a deep dive between 20 to 35m. These whales basically pulled us up from the dive to play with us on our ascent to the surface. So, in saying that, we ended up doing an extended 40-minute safety stop. When all of us ran low on air, the whales persistently played with us on snorkel, and we were even joined by another group of whales, making it a total count of 6 humpbacks. Strangely enough, another group of divers experienced the exact same interaction further down south on the same day. Truly a monumental, life-changing experience.
