i would think like applying any natural oil to the skin as a cleanser - natural oils (castor oil, coconut oil, argon oil etc), these oils actually pull out the dirt from your skin, I'm thinking the same applies to the blocked tear duct. The caster oil pulls out the 'block' while adding moisture at the same time. It's an awesome remedy for so many things! I'll be adding eye care to the list now!
I've learned: If a product states that it will make your lashes LOOK or APPEAR longer, that's a good clue that it's not going to lengthen or thicken them. It means it MIGHT only make them LOOK longer, thicker, or moisturized. It doesn't state it WILL do whatever. As always thanks for all the great info Dr!

But Latisse has been shown to move fat from the just under eye periorbital area to a lower periorbital location increasing the aging appearance of the total eye area...this could be due to its prostaglandin similarity? Other natural lash growth serums have been linked to this unfortunate occurence also. Could this be an aspect of castor oil used around eyes as well? @@maggiegoossens1894 Can you tell me how you apply castor oil in your eyes? And that too how many times in a day or week?I also have dry eyes for the last 3 years. And due to dry eyes I also have other problems.🥺Please let me know if you are doing any other solution?🙏
Mega 3 is helpful?and How long have you been using that mega 3? Does it have any side effects?

Are you putting the castor oil in your eye?
I've used Castor Oil for Dry Eyes for around 15yrs. One drop directly into the when you go to bed. It sure is AMAZING! Now i only get it once in awhile and i use it for my Dogs also.
If the oil glands are clogged up, due to blepharitis, wouldn’t caster oil make it worse ?
Thank you Dr.
i would think like applying any natural oil to the skin as a cleanser - natural oils (castor oil, coconut oil, argon oil etc), these oils actually pull out the dirt from your skin, I'm thinking the same applies to the blocked tear duct. The caster oil pulls out the 'block' while adding moisture at the same time. It's an awesome remedy for so many things! I'll be adding eye care to the list now!
My exact question. I was thinking the same.
Which brand of castor oil is good, pure?
What pure and safe castor oil can I use for under the eyes?
Queen of the thrones organic cold pressed
I have no tears at all in one eye due to brain tumour damaging the nerves. I’m going to give it a go
I've learned: If a product states that it will make your lashes LOOK or APPEAR longer, that's a good clue that it's not going to lengthen or thicken them. It means it MIGHT only make them LOOK longer, thicker, or moisturized. It doesn't state it WILL do whatever. As always thanks for all the great info Dr!
In this case you may be wrong. I have Sjogren’s syndrome and I started putting castor oil in and on my eyes and I noticed that my lower eyelashes have come back and they’ve been gone for years. Give it a try.
My product doesn't say anything about it helping lashes but it did make the lashes much longer, thicker and darker. You wash the oil off every morning of course. It actually looked weird to have great lashes on one eye, so now I'm putting it in both. I was using it for dry eye, but the cataract the Doc mentioned would need surgery last year has improved so much that he didn't even mention it on the last visit.
I too hv mild sjogren n mild lupus, suffering my eyes a lot (dryness n burning sensation) hv try castor oil but feel more blurr vision n sticky, may be the brand is not suitable for me. Can you say which brand to use please. Thank you
@Brenda
@@ushasathebajee6732 Use an organic brand. I put the drops in my eyes before going to bed, the blurriness clears up overnight.
Wow i love the effect in me. I felt my vision clearer before castor oil. I’m your new subscriber now. Thank you Dr D
If castor oil has prostaglandin acitvity, could it also cause prostaglandin-associated periorbitopathy?
I used castor oil in my lashes for some months, I didn't expect anything, I just thought of giving it a try. It definitely made them look thicker when they had oil, obviously. But some weeks after I stopped, I actually noticed that my lashes looked a tiny bit longer and thicker. My thought was that it protected them and allowed to grow more without breaking🤔. Also, I'm getting the same effect with Vaseline 🤷🏻♀️
Unfortunately I think I got milia from it 🙄
What is milia???
Me tooo with the milliaaaa aahhhhhhhhh
And for anyone wondering, I don’t know exactly WHAT they are, but they look like little skin pumps below the eye :o
Did you get Mililia from the oil or the Vaseline ?
Yes the oils do the same for head hair...seal it and prevent it from breakage which retains length
My lashes actually grew thick and long on the one eye I was using it on! I washed the oil off every morning. It looked funny with long lashes on one eye so now that I put a drop in each eye, the lashes on the other eye are catching up! LOL
I have seen castor oil used directly in the eyes as an eyedrop, which helped with blepharitis/dry eye.

Interesting! We gave to put Tachrolimus eyedrops in one of our digz eyes every day (adopted with years of untreated eye infections). Its become very expensive now, and I'm wondering if castor oil will work as well?
Hmmmmm...I bet it might be great for dogs' various conditions... This seems quite the great gift from Nature! Cheers!

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge about using castor oil for the eyes. I just started using it for my lashes and dry eyes. My eyes feel better, less floaters and lashes looking better too. Good results so far👍🏽Your video is awesome 👏🏽

Can Castor oil clog the oil glands? because I have MGD and blepharitis..
The most important health benefit of castor oil will be in swallowing regularly your dosage castor oil (the best 1 tablespoon = 15 ml) in order not only to cleanse your bowels but your liver too, this to eliminate all toxins and heavy metals (mercury!) in time from your body via the liver.
Great video Dr. D! I do like the Refresh Digital PF drops (for myself and my patients) that have castor oil. I agree that it can help!

I have looked for refresh digital eye drops but can't find them. Are you still able to buy them? If not, what other drops are available containing castor oil or is it just as effective to use just a drop of castor oil?

I really wanted this to work for my dry eyes, but after a couple days of just applying castor oil to my lash lines, my eyes were so red & irritated that I had to stop it.
I had the same reaction.
In my teens I had a lot of conjunctivitis because of the flourescent lights at school. I used castor oil in my eyes to clear it.

Castor oil? How about the benefits of cod liver oil?
I put castor oil on my eyes for a week. My eye lids and skin around my eyes became swollen, enflamed and sore. It took almost 2 weeks to get back to normal. Be careful and start off slowly.
I just watched this video from November 2021 re caster oil for eye treatment. I was wondering if you had any more current information on this subject.

How should we apply castor oil to the eyes, Dr D? Drops or what is your advice? Thank you. Iris
i use drops, works great, plus castor oil wont get contaminated if use dropper.
Castor oil is so thick, I
imagine that the drop you put in your eyes is quite large. True? Is it irritating or soothing?
I find it soothing, some bluriness but dissipates quickly as you blink you eyes.
Do you just do it right before bed? How often? I really want to improve my eyesight!
@@twiinie8840 yes, and usually only once unless it feels irritated later in afternoon. then i will do one more time. but my dry eye has improved drastically. good luck!

Caster oil is a very important medicine in Ayurveda. In India Vaidyas (Ayurvedic Practitioners) use it regularly as per symptoms. It is very effective in Vata Roga, but one should always consult a practitioner before using it with proper diagnosis.

Great advice doc.
I haven’t seen caster oil around in years. I used caster oil on my tummy when I was pregnant, no stretch marks. I have blepharitis, I might give this ago. Thank you 😊
Thought it wasn’t good for when pregos as it induces labour?? Interesting
The Super Walmart has organic castor oil, but unfortunately it is in a plastic bottle (but it is dark brown).
Would Latisse be safe to use with my blepharitis and dry eyes
NO! A lot of women with healthy eyes have noticed that the skin of their upper eyelid had thinned after using it which can’t be turned back. I read someone was actually trying to sue Latisse for this side effect, it’s horrible

Can you use it if you have cataracts surgery and lense implants?
It can only help. Especially for floaters.
How do you put it in your eyes, doesn't it make your vision blurry?
I use a dropper. Only blurs for a minute or two.
I put 2 drops in each eye just before go to sleep. I chose my eyes and i don't have to worry about blurries.
I love your content thanks for being open minded to alternative treatments. I love caster oil for many different uses. You might want to move your 🎤 away from your throat as you swallow a lot and your microphone picks up the sound. Keep up the good work 🎉

And what a bout blephorospasm! (Uncontrolable blinking - often caused by a head trauma)
A lot of women swear by black Jamaican Castro oil for hair growth. Head eyelashes Do you know if that is different?
But Latisse has been shown to move fat from the just under eye periorbital area to a lower periorbital location increasing the aging appearance of the total eye area...this could be due to its prostaglandin similarity? Other natural lash growth serums have been linked to this unfortunate occurence also. Could this be an aspect of castor oil used around eyes as well? Check out the video of Dr. Anil Rajani..plastic surgeon you tuber regarding this for more info if you like.
