Just to clarify, the date was incorrect by a few years as 3s didn't come out on the Xbox until 2004. I'd wager the matches still saved on my Xbox were from late 2004-2005 ish o_o
I wanted to correct you on the save game file dates, but you noticed. Cool. Was my first experience with 3rd strike or sf3. Arcades died in rural northeast Montana in the late 90s. So this collection was an absolute gem. Fond memories.
My guess is that you recorded those matches after formating the Xbox, so it reseted the console's clock...didnt the original Xbox came out on november 2001?
I remember running into you on a 3S online edition stream a long time ago, and it pulling me into your channel and content. Congrats on 100, dog. Literally a monument, this shit helped me through so much of my younger years. Keep it up, g
I remember discovering Max because I wanted to watch SFV beta footage and coming across his treasure trove of 3rd Strike videos. Even with my at-the-time limited knowledge of fighting games, those videos captivated me with 3rd Strike's wonderful pixel animation and Max's enthusiasm while playing. It's nice to see this reach 100 episodes
Damn, 10 years. I was around for the first episode and the drop of Third Strike OE. Crazy how much time has passed. I remember killing time at work waiting for your episodes to drop and rewatching older online warriors. Now I have a child, and a house, and a family, and still play third strike and watch you, lmao.
We’re finally here…Congratulations on 100 episodes of this amazing series dedicated to one of, if not the best Street Fighter games ever made. With the series turning 35 this year (2022) , what better way to celebrate it then by bringing back this legendary game to current Gen consoles as well as PC. I would also like to see the Alpha Series return as well. Again, congratulations on 100 episodes here’s to 100 more! (If you decide to continue the series from here.)
Yeah, may capcom re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-release arcade sf games by putting roms and a awful, terrible emulator into a pack and charge for it.
The Daigo parry is still one of the most amazing things that I've ever seen in videogames. I really appreciate Third Strike made that Evo moment happen and help people see how hype this game can be. I definitely remember this game not having such a good reception at launch. Many years later thanks to a lot of updates, community and network support this is now a game people have regarded as one of the best 2D fighting games. Kudos to Max for reaching a hundred episodes of Third Strike. Looking forward to more in the future.
@@minechaftgamer288 The latter. SF3 was up against 3D fighters at the time, namely Tekken 3 and Virtua Fighter 3, not to mention other 2D games like the Capcom VS series. Matt McMuscles made an amazing "What Happened" video explaining SF3's troubled development.

I genuinely enjoy watching this series. I binged a few eps back in lock down in 2020 3rd strike is such a damn sick game. I really hope it comes on modern consoles for SF 35th anniversary
I still remember watching your hype & rage moments of SF3 third strike. Pure enjoyment and you trying to test your might break justin wong daigo's parry mode of chun-li (16:22 The rage begins once more). Shine on Max 🙂👍 you are one cool dood going strong making 100 episodes.

This version of the game I have for my PS2...This is the version that got my back into playing SF3 and I think its the best version of the game for the collection. It made my heart cry when we got the collection with alpha SF3 and SF2 and they didn't take this version. of SF3 and SF2. It had also the arranged sound track which they made a 3rd round track for all the SF3 stage music. So I understand how much this version means to you as well. Congrats on the 10/100 dude. I hope you continue to play SF3 it brings me alot of joy watching matches from you.
Whenever I watch Max’s third strike videos it just takes me back to a time 15 years ago on a summer evening. I’ve never played this game but the nostalgia is just crack
If it weren't for Max I wouldn't have even gotten into fighting games, and The Online Warrior series has certainly been a part of that. Congrats on 100 episodes!
I played a lot of Third Strike back in 2002 through 2005, on the Dreamcast and on arcade in college. Chun-Li and Makoto were the characters I played the most. Me and friends had some good times playing this game back then.
I remember looking at some Street Fighter moments on TH-cam one day and finding one of your 3rd Strike gameplay and I have never looked back. Congratulations on 100 episodes of The Online Warrior and to many more
Started watching Max because of Assist Me and Marvel 3 back in the day, stayed for his Online Warrior series for 3rd Strike, and MvC2. Insane to think this series has been going on for so long, and how much of an impact it has had on me throughout the years. I wouldn't have gotten into fighting games nearly as much as I did if not for this series specifically. Thank you for all the years of content, Max, and for being the start of many peoples lives in the FGC.
Congratulations!!! I owe you and this series so much, really opened a young player to 3rd strike now it’s one of my all time favorites to play. Here’s to more years ❤️
In 2012, a very dear friend of mine came to my house with a laptop, in it a pirated copy of USF4. We played that whole afternoon and I realized fighting games were actually pretty cool, so bought UMvC3, and didn't know how to do the trials, so I looked up a tutorial, and found one of your Arcade Stories. I played so much PS3 Online Edition over the years, and seeing you play Decoy really brought me back. He and I had a great rivalry going because we both mained Chun. I wish I could still play my PS3 version, but I'd have to rig it through my laptop somehow. All I've got is the inferior 30th Anniversary version on Steam.
3S Online Warrior was such a huge constant in my adolescent years. Thanks for the constant enthusiasm and enjoyment you've shown with this game, it never failed to entertain.
Congratulations on reaching 100 episodes of 3rd Strike: The Online Warrior, Max! Here's to 100 more episodes! I still have a lot of fun playing 3rd Strike, and I own it on both PS3 and PS4.

WOW that’s impressive. 3rd Strike is so difficult for me that I can’t imagine playing it for a long time. I always struggle with parry mechanics, but it’s so satisfying to land a parry chain.

my first introduction to 3rd strike was trough this collection back in the day. I was 15 at the time and now I'm 31 and still playing 3rd strike. then I found CvS 2 and I been in love with fighting games ever since.
Watching your videos on 3rd strike and seeing all of the love around 3rd strike inspired me to follow fighting games so thank you for your videos and congrats on 100 episodes
I loved 15 Anniversary. Long story short: born in 2002, only had an OG Xbox growing up, didn't play it during the heyday. Anyways, until like 2018, I didn't own any other console, so I mostly played on that Xbox.. I'd occasionally buy games for it too. About 3 years ago, I had heard about SF by seeing it on YT (I knew it was a thing, but knew nothing about it). So I was interested, and managed to find a copy of 15th Anniversary for the OG Xbox. I boot it up after it comes in the mail and pop it in. I loved it-Hyper SFII and 3rd Strike, the first 2 games I played in the series. I wish Hyper SFII had more recognition, the Hyper games are really interesting. I still keep the console and games in my room (albeit not my main console any more ofc), and I still love it. That game not only got me into Street Fighter, but the genre as a whole. And I played well after they shut down online for the OG Xbox-all of my experiences with that game are just fighting CPUs (although I will say I enjoyed unlocking Gill and the Dreamcast extra colors in 3S, plus the SF2 movie).
Nostalgia overload! I remember picking this up at the mall for PS2 with my older brother and grandfather. It was around 2006 if I'm not mistaken. A little late, but still a magical time.
one of the best fighting games ever made with one of the best soundtracks ever that I sill listen to this day I never get tired of playing it or watching others play
The song they play at the character select screen is awesome I play that shit in the morning at work before my store opens everyone loves it period so much Nostalgia was this game. Best street fighter ever
You know, Max. You are the reason I love 3rd Strike now. I used to not like it, but seeing how much you love it got to me and now I love it. And I play Akuma against my better judgement, even though I suck.
During my own journey to getting into fighters, I had heard 3rd Strike was fantastic from various places, this channel included, but I never played it. The first time i ever played 3rd Strike was on the Xbox version. An independent game store had it and I had to get it after hearing how amazing it was. Thank you for being an influence on getting me into fighting games, especially 3rd Strike!
Anniversary Collection got me and my best friend hooked hard back in '05. I feel like the online success of this compilation helped Capcom feel confident in making a SF4 that embraced the online side of things.
It's been a long time coming to this point. This may be the 100th episode of The Online Warrior for Third Strike, but there's probably 150 or more total Third Strike videos on this channel and I've probably watched every single one. I've no desire to ever play SFIII, but I love to watch it.
Top 5 favorite fighting games of all time for me this is the game that gave me the hunger to get better in a fighting game. I remember going into fightcade and matching up with this guy who showed me the ropes with urien, he taught me aegis reflector setups and shit was so damn fun I love third strike
This is my favorite fighting game of all time, I have the same anniversary collection edition but for my PS2, I then bought it when it came out on xbox 360 and played it a lot online, I liked how they had a way to upload replays to youtube directly which can still be found here (they were very bad quality tho)
I missed the intro to SF Anniversary Collection for original Xbox. I like the full animated movie of SF2, as well. It was also my first time playing Third Strike, back then.
Seeing that 37 parry reminded me of Justin's tweet from one of his first matches of the year haha, he was playing Chung Li and person was Ken and daigo'd him and his voice was hilarious. Great start to the year 2022
I barely watch ur fighting game vids unless they are something I am currently playing. That said 3S is the exception. It's one of if not my favorite to watch even if I have barely even touched the game myself.
You make fighting games look really fun, I always get the urge to play SF whenever I watch your videos, hehe Unrelated, I saw Sonic games in your steam library 👀
I remember watching this series a few years ago and it made me buy 3rd strike on 360 and it was a hell of a time, I remember I was trying to get good with Q and I went up against PikachuAkuma and man he gave me hell but I was stunned that I even faced against that God of a 3rd strike player
What everyone said below. The Online Warrior, Gootecks series, Excellent Adventures held me down during freshman and high school years entertainment wise. The series also would have me buy OE and within minutes of watching 3rd strike I’d go hop on to either practice or play right after. Wouldn’t have grinded as much as I did or explored as deeply
Honestly, this is what medical science should be put to use for. Lets build a robot body for Max, so that he can become Mecha Max, and do Online Warrior well into the robot apocalypse.
I found Max's Online Warrior while looking for combo vids for 3rd Strike. I wanted to learn this game because the guys who were regulars in my local arcade were hype to watch. I had some 2nd impact experience in my college days, but didn't find a 3rd Strike machine until 3 or 4 years out of college. Max's Online Warrior is the hypest. Always tatsus at the start.
Until now I have never seen this "Third Strike." The only time I've ever heard of it in passing, was this Wrath of Asura youtube video where some yahoo calls out Ryu for his weak sauce, saying "WE PLAY THIRD STRIKE!" Congratulations on all of your success.

On the 35th anniversary of Street Fighter Max is a legend
New sickass Online Edition attract mode raps provided by Adam Tensta
Seeing that 37 parry reminded me of Justin's tweet from one of his first matches of the year haha, he was playing Chung Li and person was Ken and daigo'd him and his voice was hilarious. Great start to the year 2022
Kind of funny imagining Young Max and Young Steve hammering away at XBox controller buttons.
10 years of wishing we got 3.4rd strike instead of 3rd Strike online edition
Literally started following Max in 2012 because of the online warrior!
Good God I’m old!
This ain't just the 100th episode, it's the invasion of the Chun-Li's as well!
Congratulations, Max. Here's to 100 more episodes. 🥂
I barely watch ur fighting game vids unless they are something I am currently playing. That said 3S is the exception. It's one of if not my favorite to watch even if I have barely even touched the game myself.
You make fighting games look really fun, I always get the urge to play SF whenever I watch your videos, hehe
Unrelated, I saw Sonic games in your steam library 👀
I was wondering when max was going to do a street fighter video so I was going to check out the sf time-line video. Now here we are.
I remember watching this series a few years ago and it made me buy 3rd strike on 360 and it was a hell of a time, I remember I was trying to get good with Q and I went up against PikachuAkuma and man he gave me hell but I was stunned that I even faced against that God of a 3rd strike player
Max is the king of defensive Kensington, he blocks whole rounds and still wins
The 100th episode of Online Warrior finally uploaded to TH-cam?
"Yeah, I've been waiting for this!"
I hope I'm 60 and 3rd strike online warrior is still putting out episodes
Honestly, this is what medical science should be put to use for. Lets build a robot body for Max, so that he can become Mecha Max, and do Online Warrior well into the robot apocalypse.
@@nicksrandomreviews Please load a copy of max into San Junipero arcade with a shit ton of fighting game cabs. Then I'm good.
I love the control Chun-Li. She has the most important meter in the game, so I guess you come out ahead trading whiffs.
3rd strike will always be my #1 fighting game of all time.
My favourite Street Fighter to watch, it's sooooo beautiful and the animation is crazy.
Love how his first viewed saves are my literal bday lmao
I played this anniversary edition religiously as a kid but I never had the desire to get good until my late teens. Classic
Wow, this is big time nostalgia! Love it, Max!

This video made me start replaying 3rd Strike today. It’s such an amazing game!
El simple hecho de que en ps3 tenga custom color ya lo hace el mejor el ggpo lo reafirma y los ost de las otras entregas lo confirma
Never thought this day would come. Been following since episode 28
Until now I have never seen this "Third Strike." The only time I've ever heard of it in passing, was this Wrath of Asura youtube video where some yahoo calls out Ryu for his weak sauce, saying "WE PLAY THIRD STRIKE!" Congratulations on all of your success.
Congratulations on 100 episodes of 3rd Strike the Online Warrior Max.

The Dreamcast is right there, CRYING
Family Fun Arcade!? As in Family Fun Center!? Wow, that nostalgia just hit me like a ton of bricks.
Absolutely Love me some third strike online edition, and Damn Max, you are very good with Dudley, I still got a long way to go :)
