Quick correction. Graphic at 2:36 is incorrect. Tighter front vs. rear typically results in understeer - this is correct. In regards to the second part the correction is that tighter rear vs. front typically results in oversteer. Thanks to Sid for pointing that out! If you have any further questions just refer to the suspension section in the "Beyond the Apex" guides for further details.
quick tip - normalize your audio on these vids, i've had to adjust the volume on the last 4 or 5 of your vids as im watching them. some are quiet and others are REALLY quiet, Normalizing the audio should sort that so that all videos have roughly the same volume.
Still playing sport. Flipped my toe front and rear contrary to past advice to your advice and crushed my time! Thanks man moved me up 100 spots in Time trial :) with just half hour of practice.
This information is by doubt the best video to help tune a car. I actually had no idea that this needed to be done to help tune the car. I was a mechanic in the army (motor pool) 63 B10 bravo and received my diploma. Got out then started working on cars. Granted that was back in the 70's & 80's. I mostly did engine stuff not too much suspension. Although I did change out a few a K-frames, ball joints, idler arms, but still. This will be a BIG help with the ride of most all cars I'm sure. Thank you very much. Cheers & happy racing.
Must say, this is one of the best presented tuning videos I ever came across, very informtative and straight the point whilst showing on screen exactly wjat you speak about.. Earned a Sub here looking forward to more
Excellent series of reference information, and really appreciate the Brumos love in your livery. Been a 'Brumos Backer' since I was a child in the Late 70's!
Interesting how close my order was to yours in the form of tuning the suspension. But I must admit, your way seems to make more sense. This whole video was informative but that 1-2-3-4-5-6 just gave me a game plan. Appreciate cha brah. Till next vid 💪🏾
You make helpful and informative videos. Much appreciated. Buuuut, I have to turn my volume up to twice what is normal. Can you adjust this? Compare your content to other TH-cam vids please. Thanks
My suspension clips in some cars. Not sure if it’s a glitch or my bad tuning. Have you had this problem. It doesn’t let me turn and stays in a postition
The sierra cosworth for example doesn’t respond at all to suspension tuning. I’ve spent hours on the car and the best set up is stock suspension and standard width wheels. I’ve bought every type of suspension for it, tweaking everything but still my lap times are better with stock. Some cars on the game need very little tune for suspension as I think the game replicates the real car which is already set up perfect from the factory like the Sierra. Most players slam the suspension as it looks good with the wider wheels and body mods then hate the car as it kills the handling.
Yes that one I designed. It's based on Bromus Racing livery from '71 I believe. It's on my profile. I've since changed the livery from the upgraded front and rear aero options for the car (I blacked out the lower spoiler and the middle of the rear spoiler because I thought it looked cleaner). I'll post the newer one that has the revised aero options later today!
i wish you could tune the car's suspension in game like tell us how changing each setting would impact the car or do a full tune like the way you would do normally and let us see that....i want to see in game effects and how you counter that...pls
It used to be like that somewhat, but they've since nerded the PP changes on suspension and LSD. I agree 100% they should at least show you how you're impacted performance!
A very informative video thanks... But @ 2:36 talking about anti roll bars, your image suggests that raising front and rear relative to the other, tends to lead to understeer!? which is correct?
Typo on that one, good catch. Tighter rear vs. front would be slight oversteer. Tighter front vs. rear would be slight understeer (I referenced the beyond the apex documentation to confirm for ya). I'll pin a correction on this one, it's a valid point and an editing miss on my part 😵
Thank you for sharing your wisdom, both in this video and in the differential. But I would have liked more if you explained a little more in depth what effects each setting has. and some examples, like you used in the lsd video regards
So I'm planning to do a in detail tuning video that takes your through taking a stock car, upgrading it, tuning it, and tracking it to dial it in - so there is more to come. It'll be a longer video, but should cover all aspects of tuning and testing. That video is likely 2 weeks away though, just have some other stuff in the hopper.
Anything specific? Aside from weight & balance and how they put power down not sure what else to cover. I know MR's tend to not be great for whatever reason, but I haven't dove into it just yet.

@@stevenaustin4591 Oh for sure. Some of the tuning videos are some of my first. It's been adjusted as of making the money guides.

Oh nice! I’ve been messing a bit more online, but still find the lobby’s kind of a mess in GT7. Really hit or miss.

Yeah for sure I can adjust the volume!
You are a god send. Thank you
Keep it coming buddy
Anyone else think Voss has the perfect voice for a podcast?
Worst podcast ever!
@@Voss44 I agree with this person! Great voice for podcasts!
Excellent video, just wish my 911 turbo in GT7 handled like yours seems to, I'm constantly on edge when driving it, waiting for it to spin out!😟
Can share the tune if you wanted. Yeah the back is super light took a bit to figure it out.
@@Voss44
Yes please, it would be a great help, I love the look of the car but driving it is proving to be very frustrating 🙁

So not sure what you mean by clipping. If you drop it too low you'll bottom out and not be able to turn through.
I curious what upgrades you made as well an the car (Right side) thank you
Just the permanent upgrades? I can share the tune in discord if it's easier.
@@Voss44 yes. I can see the others in the video. But good idea, I’ll send you a message :)

Learning a lot from you may I make a request if you can dice into individual fwd rwd and Mr cars

@@Voss44 right now I'm working on my swapped ek9 I feel I got it close but I feel it can be faster
I have 3:59 on circa de Le mans with chicane
What is over and understeer
understeer = harder to turn the car than you want it to be. Oversteer = the opposite. Steering is too sensitive.
Bud, i love your videos. Thankyou! But…..
Camber.
Cam-Ber
Not Caym-ber
Haha but keep it up
lol that just might be my Canadian accent there 😂
Be nice if i knew how much of each adjustment to make.
Boss Voss you the Boss Voss
Bro really comparing a lap with CS and RS tires, lmao, of course RS will handle better then CS regardless of how you set up the suspension.
The caster setup is missing.
I put all the suspension to max and put the camber on the front to 3.3 and rear 2.0 or 2.5
