I have to replace the valve cover gasket and will keep this video as a reference. I've been dreading this task for over 2 yrs now, not a major leak but the valve cover edges are pretty wet, will get a drop or two on the floor once a week. Truly Appreciate you taking the time and helping others.
Thank you for your comment!
Nice video and only a 12 and a half minute job. LOL. Well done. Thanks
Thanks you!
I did valve cover gaskets , intake manifold gaskets , spark plugs , ignition coil packs . for my girlfriends trailblazer but still had rough idle . & would shake hard when you shut it off . Car is still alive with almost 300k
You find out why?
@@ernestwolanicki4923 no she gave the car to her younger sister for free because she needed a car after having a baby & they had it fixed . Car is still working good . I still wish we had the car . But it’s ok it was for family who needed it most .
Thank You!!
This video was really helpful 😊
Thank you.
Man, you made it look easy. I’m 71 and my angst is probably age related. Thx
Thank you, I’m glad the video was helpful.
I just did all this on my 07 almost got it all put back.
Hi! Great video and clear! Can you tell me how you got the last bolt near the firewall out? Did you use a diffident tool or were you able to get a straight socket in there?
Hey thank you, a socket and ratchet but it will be almost all by feel
Replaced my gaskets and reinstalled everything to wind up with a no crank. Any tips? All I can think is the pcm connectors aren't seating right.
That would be the most logical try to reseat the pcm connectors make sure they lock completely.
That was it, the age on these connectors is showing for getting them to lock down. Thanks for the video @@SMAutoRepairLLC
Do the bolts have to be put back in a certain sequence and or torque? If so what sequence/torque?
Working from middle of the intake manifold out in a cross (x) pattern 44inchlbs first pass 89inchlbs second pass.
A nice snug feel with a 1/4 ratchet will get your pretty close. These generally don’t have an issue if the torque sequence isn’t perfect.
Thank you!
@@negrachula09 Your welcome!
Is this something that can be code-less?
Yes For Sure, Actually More Often Then You Would Think A Check Engine Light May Not Set Any Codes For This Condition.Using Live Data On A Scan Tool Is the Easiest Way To Diagnose This You Can Look At Your Fuel Trim Values And Can Also See Previous Misfire Data For Each Cylinder Even With Out A Trouble Code Being Set.

Mine has a misfire 5 changed boots and plugs still misfire only runs roughly on idel to 2nd and dri e good will this be a gasket leak to0? 06 trailblazer btw
@@alfredmartinez1134 It’s possible a vacuum leak at the intake for that cylinder could be causing the issue.
@@SMAutoRepairLLCThanks for replying. I’m just now seeing this. I’m still dealing with an issue that seems exactly like what your customer complaint was. I start it up and it immediately feels rough, idles rough and sounds different. As I drive and the engine warms it seems to drive pretty darn good. Come to a stop light and idles rough. I just changed all the ignition coils to NGK units to rule that out. Looks like I’m ordering a set of intake gaskets. I’m wondering if simply tightening the intake bolts might work? Also, I feel like when this all started for me I started hearing a weird sound from in the cab… almost like a vibration sound. I thought it was coming from in the dash. Now that’s gone but I swear the engine, in cab, sounds like a diesel.
Would have been a good time to replace the fuel injectors
You NEED an. Oil catch can of good quality.
Where the circle gasket goes
If your set includes the circle gasket, it is for the throttle body. Throttle body to intake manifold.
I liked the video but you didn't shpw the part or area that failed like you did it for fun

@@SMAutoRepairLLC was it the far left one that was the issue? that one looks different than the rest. i think i have this issue with mine. i have have been chasing an evap leak and lean codes for a year and this is the only thing i haven't tackled yet. How did you find out that it was the gasket that was the issue?
@@podfreak4ever02 yes far left on the intake manifold when it was removed so mounted on the vehicle closest to the firewall. I have a short on that let me find it and I’ll post the link to you.
@@podfreak4ever02 if you have a vacuum leak your fuel trims will be reading positive as in this video.
