Your progress over the years is astounding. This new game you've been working on looks amazing and is just the sort of game I would love to play. I hope you keep at it.
@@Codeer Oh, how i wished some talented, young Programmers would make a HunterxHunter Game. Until now, no one has done real-good with this, despite the franchise being so super-popular and it’s magic-system being even more popular.
I'm so glad you found your game! One of the hardest part of making games today is making it interesting and if it's never done before, as some players sees something done before bland or a copycat while it's not really the developer's intention. I will continue to follow your devlogs!
My brother has been getting into Unity and is already making pretty cool projects. Seeing him, and these kinds of videos, makes me get an interest in it as well, but idk.
try unity and other engines i reccomend godot for 2d cause its free and fairly simple compared to other engines and it uses a python like programming language making it very easy to read code
That's awesome. Looks like it was a long journey but you've learned a lot! I'm currently on about my 15th overly-ambitious, doomed project but I hope I can finish something decent soon.
I highly recommend the newest videos over on Gamermaker's Toolkit~ Those might give you a nudge in the right direction. It's not a bad thing to have a lot of ideas and explore them, but investing the right amount of time on prototypes and what to focus on are vital parts of finding a project you might wanna stick with.
Hey Codeer, I wanted to thank you because your game dev series has kind of done to me what Swords 'N Magic and Stuff did to you, since I have started watching you I have focused a lot more on world design. I have especially worked on mimicking a similar grass effect like yours, because yours looks so good, and making lots of trees and rocks to scatter and add variety to any worlds I make. Cheers!

I just want to appreciate the amount of effort you've put into making actual projects. I often find myself just fiddling around with ideas in my head and not making any project myself. I feel that has been a limiting factor in my learning. But this video has been super inspirational. I have been wanting to make my own devlog series but I was not able to stick to a project long enough. Till now, I have been wanting to make devlogs and work on a small project for a timeline of 3 months. And just finish a full game. Any tips to just stick to it?
Thanks! Yeah I also find it super hard to stick to a project for a longer period of time tbh. Making videos really helps me stay motivated and stick to the same project :) And if you're really not into the project, at least if it's only been 1-2 months I don't think switching to something else is that bad.
As a attempting video game designer this video feels so promising, ive spent 3 and a half years trying to develop a good game and this channel was one of the big tools to use.

Half a year ago I started learning game building in Unity because I wanted to learn something new and finally be able to change my job for a better one. After watching your video, I can see that it takes a tremendous amount of time to reach a level similar to what you have achieved. When I come back from work, I have a few hours to learn building games in Unity. Unfortunately, I do not always have the time and strength to sit down to the computer for next few hours after a full day of work. At the current rate of my self-development, it will take me 10 years or longer to reach your level. I will not quit my job because I just need money to live. And at this point, a question pops up in my head. How did you find so much time to learn? I don't know, maybe I'm just not capable enough to make computer games.
Hi! You have a very interesting story) similar to mine) After 4 months, how has your life changed? Any progress in that direction? Would appreciate a reply)
I'd say game dev is usually a group thing, so it's not out of ordinary to see people like you who would be exhausted trying to learn everything. If you can find some equally ambitious friends (2-3 people is enough to make something decent) and spread out the workload a bit, you'll see the result much faster, and sometimes you'll be able to learn from them too.
Thank you! I'm using Davinci Resolve, I don't really have any specific editing tips haha, tbh it's mostly just putting the clips and matching them with the audio :)

This is so cool bro. You’ve come long way . Really amazing stuffs you have developed. I really like the game design you did and visuals of your game you achieved inside unity .
Thank you for sharing and it's inspiring. I also find it's a fun hobby!
