China Ranch is definitely a hidden gem. When I was there in December I stocked up on date paste to make grandma’s special date filled cookies which happen to be my husband’s favorite. They are delicious! Thank you for showing us the behind the scenes and introducing us to the owner. What a fun video!
Yumm!!😋 those sound GREAT!
@@EnydCrowfeatherthey are excellent and freeze well. I should post the recipe.

❤ Even I might find a Date at this place.😊
Dang ….pretty gals show up at 9
Loved the road runner running in front of your car driving in
meep meep
Great content. It takes a special person to be able to do good interviews, and Sarah is just the most organic and natural conversation style interviews I have ever seen. Keep up the good work, and thanks to Brian for sharing his wit and wisdom.
I had a college roommate who lived just south of Palm Springs, and he invited me to spend Easter with his family. One afternoon, he drove me around the date farms, and I told him, "Jorge, I LOVE Palm Springs, because it is so easy to get a date!" He looked at me like "Elwood, you idiot."
I used to love the date shakes they sold at roadside stands. 😛
@@oriraykai3610 I never was brave enough to try them. I drove a truck was all over the place and I never got brave enough for a date shake. 😂
I love eating dates. I used to eat those along with figs I just picked off a tree all the time when I lived in Escondido in socal.
@@oriraykai3610- when my family finally escaped Commiefornia, we drove through Palm Springs. So I drove off the freeway to a place famous for its date shakes. My wife & daughter had one each, and loved it.
Meanwhile, I think back to my awful joke to Jorge. We were both single & not dating anyone at the time. The funny thing is, he got married to a chica a year later, and now I'm married too. So now I got a brown piece of fruit in Palm Springs and not a goodtime girl; I got a date and not a date. 😁
Thanks Sarah and Brian..
I love those date shakes...haven't been there in a while...beautiful place.
Great video. Next time I go to Death Valley I’ll stop at China Ranch.
Sarah has the best media skills! Also I noticed they use Thrifty ice cream can’t beat that!
Even though I live in Upstate NY I have been to Death Valley many, many times. However I have never been to or heard of China Ranch Date Farm. Needless to say I’ll make a visit there on my next visit. Thanks Wonderhussy. 😊
Sarah, thanks for highlighting our wonderful farmers. Great video and history lesson.
And we loved the date shakes!
Brian’s cool and quite the entrepreneur. Thanks, Sarah!
When I was working in Las Vegas around 2007-2009, one of our favorite places to visit was the China Ranch along with Tecopa and Shoshone and the Crow Bar!
Brian embodies an ag philosophy similar to myself and many other farmers- landowners, the NRCS is there to help and assist you! I'm a farmer and rely on NRCS programs to do my job better. I'm really happy you highlighted him, he reminds me of my late FIL in many ways
The Waterfall is Bonnie's Love still flowing for Brian!
WH You are such a funny and happy storyteller!!
If someone’s in a bad mood, this is a great channel to watch😂😂
WOW! I didn't know Thrifty Ice Cream was still around! Haven't had any since leaving Reno in 1992. If I remember correctly, there was a plant in Sparks. Thrifty Drugstores are long gone, and I thought the ice cream went away too, what a surprise!
Thrifty Drugs was where I discovered, as a teen, that a scoop of chocolate and a scoop of orange sherbert makes a fantastic cone.
There's a few Thrifty Ice Cream shops around. Might find one in a gas station too. But not like the old days when I'd get a triple for a quarter.
Wonderhussy, thank you, thank you, thank you for continuing to inject a little joy and interesting diversions into our week!
Thanks WH, great story. I'm going to give th at date syrup a chance!
Once again, a FABULOUS video from Wonderhussy! Thanks so much, Sarah! WoW WoW WoW! I gotta get my arse there STAT and get me one a them thar date shakes and see a real live roadrunner and maybe a coyote too!! I'm gonna spend the rest of today kickin' my arse for not going there last trip in November last year when I met the AMAZING Wonderhussy! 👌😁👍
@@theaussietripper you missed out on a delicious shake!
That place has the CRAZIEST driveway!
It sure does.
Thank you Sarah for another inspiring upbeat video in these bleak times.
You are a ray of sunshine ☀️
Pretty Awesome, they did a spectacular job growing that Date Harvesting Farm.
Thanks for sharing another fun adventure and biology lesson on how dates are grown and the beautiful landscape
Truly an oasis vibe. It’s worth the drive. Have a shake, do a hike and get another shake for the road.
Love to got there!
What a cool place Sara. I love date shakes myself. Had my first one passing through California back in 77. Beautiful desert scenery all around. Thanks for showing us. 👍👍👍🙋♂️
I was told to help a channel you should comment so here I is
I love China Ranch dates! We make a trip there 3-4 times a year. Love perusing the gift shop and the date products make excellent gifts!
Conrinued success!
Your behind the scenes tour was awesome!
Another fabulous adventure!
Just love you, Girl!!!
Thanks!
Good promotion for a local desert business. And it's located in a great looking landscape :-)
I absolutely love this video. What an amazing OASIS. Nature is so amazing. Great video Sarah. I wish I was younger and able to travel again. I would be to that place in a heartbeat but thank you for taking me there with your video. You are a wonder for sure, Sarah. ❤❤❤
My husband and I went there; it is truly unique. You did a great job presenting this ranch
Finally a trip to the China Ranch Date Farm , such a cool place - in the middle of nowhere.
It's "Huell Howser" reincarnated in you WH!! 😄 The same inquisitive style of interviewing with your fun loving quirkiness and humor that I'm sure he'd be proud of!! 👍 As he and you would pbrase it..."theres a Date Ranch Farm, out in the middle of nowhere!" Very cool. 👍😎
Great Video ! America the Beautiful the Land of Opportunity For those people who Work Hard for Their Dream to come True ! Thank You Sara ! We Hope this Will be Inspirational for our Young Generation !
It's like Huell Howser did a video about a cool date farm out in the desert. Only he's now a small sassy lady and has the
same inquisitive flair of reporting and interviewing. You sure do rock Sarah! Congrats on making it to 280K subs!!!
Wonderhussy often takes us to the middle of nowhere. This time we turn a corner and suddenly we're somewhere. Such a special place. Glad there's roadrunners watching over things. Thanks Sarah for sharing more of your neighborhood. ❤❤❤
She was successful in Vegas and successful in DV. She could probably be successful in Antartica.
Date shake, sounds yummy. 😋
They're indescribably delicious. They have some picnic tables out back where you can sit and be joined by quail and little chipmunks. There are also some very annoying flies which can bite. There's a hiking trail there too and a tiny trickle of water flowing through a wooded area. It is a cool place to visit.
Oh WoW .. .. .. haven't had a fly bite since I lived in Tonopah lol
memories
another super interesting vid
The guy's entrepreneurial to the max.
One of my favorite places!!! Brian is always so nice, too!
It was a lot different in 1986. looks nothing like the last time I was there. Thanks for the grand tour Sarah! It's a beautiful place...
Great video 😊😊❤❤
The best content . . . 🎉🎉🌴🎉
That was really interesting! Who knew? Thank you for sharing that! 😄
I did
@@jamessel6430 I’ve seen the sign, but wasn’t sure about it, now I know I need to go visit.
Nothing better than a great date!
I think Sarah would rather go there alone . . .
Nature's candy
There is nothing better then fresh dates.... The best ice cream shake I ever had was a date shake in Indio Ca.... I can imagine that this guy has awesome dates.... You can tell he is passionate about his dates and his work....
Oh yes ! The date shakes are the BEST
Thanks wonderhussy.
1:57 *ROADRUNNER!* 🤩
12:38 *CROWS!* 🤩 could hear em
Does warrent crows they were Ravens
@JohnEllis-qp9fz okay. .... well I'm starved for birds so I'll take what I can get lol 👍
I love that place ! I must return soon.
what a super cool story.....very good one Wonderhussy
Outstanding beautiful dig them Dates. -Thank you!
Sarah, what a cool video! The first time I went there was in 1990. I was on a science field trip and did a study in the valley. There is an endemic little fish that lives in the creek that flows through the valley. Next time you're there, look for them. The ranch overlook is a great place for a good view.. I'm surprised Brian didn't show you Bonnies memorial. It's been many years since I've been there but I miss them both......
As usual - very well done and entertaining video by Sarah Jane!
Sarah, you did a fantastic job on this interview…..❤
This is my favorite video. I didn’t know about this at all. He is a match for you 💘
Very, very interesting. Great job Sarah!
Love China Ranch. I always buy 15 lbs at Christmas as gifts. Good web site, too.
Date shakes made by Sarah, approved by Sarah! This is a place moved way up the list of must see. Got to order some dates, make my own shake knowing it can't be as good as if Sarah made it. Thank you, all this video made my top 5 good job
WOW GIRL!! You are the best. Beautiful, Creative, and Very Smart. Love the Ranch and you too.
Another informative video! Learned a lot. Thanks W.H.
What a great video Sarah and tour! I'm craving a date shake now! ❤👍😋
That was a great tour. W H you never disappoint.
Great guy.
Great show as usual❤
Love this story! Well told Sarah
Great video! Stopped by here in '21 and this video makes me want to go back. What a magical place.
Thanks
China Ranch Date Farm is one of my favorite places to visit. I love the amazing hikes through there and I love the date trees and date shakes. I had never tried dates and confused them for figs until visiting CRDF.
Great interview... Huell Howser is smiling down on you today Sarah!
Great video. What a cool guy Mr. Brown is. And even better, Wonderhussy correctly identified a Ford Model T!
What a education great tour you're the best Wonder Hussey thanks
Awesomeness
Definitely a cool place! Thank you China Ranch and Sarah!
That was cool Sarah. Thanks.
Great video Sarah! We went there in November loved it. Love hearing about the History of places and the people. Awesome place!! Will definitely be back😊
Love behind the scenes 😊
Great tour and very educational and interesting, Thanks WH.
Fascinating!
Love this so much! Amazing and love the history of this beautiful piece!
I learned a long time ago dates are the best thing for sweeting food instead of sugar. I had been meaning to see about cooking with them, and never did. I cant say as I have ever eaten a date. Thanks for another fine video!
Great video, on the to go list now.. thanks
It is such an interesting and knowledgeable video. Thanks Wonderhussy
Very funny video, but very interesting
Great to see this. I did visit the store years ago. Amazing date malt.
Great video. Love it.
Ordering online store.
Thank you.
Ooooh there was an older gentleman I took care of for years, veteran, he's the only person I've ever known who called it a "malt"
I loved it when he'd say that lol.
Date Malt sounds really good.
Date shake sounds like a dance you do
@EnydCrowfeather There's a difference. Malts are supposed to have malt syrup or powder added which gives a particular flavor that is exquisite to me but seems impossible to find anymore.
@victoriabaker4400 oh, I see.
That makes sense I always thought "Malt Balls" were the best when I was little..... those candy makers know what they're doin
9:46 "they preDATE dinosaurs"
I see what he did there 😂
Wow! What a beautiful interesting place. Thank you Brian for showing us around.
Sarah, it was fun to meet you at the date farm last Monday and we enjoyed the video
Great video on the Date farm. Very informative.
Such rugged beauty!!! Grateful to have visited in 2017 and in 2022 after getting married in Vegas! The date shake changed my life.
I've been there a few times and learned there are many types of dates. Nice place for a picnic.
Great story WH, thank you
Very unique and one of the kind
Thank you so much I appreciate you and your sister I lived in the house that is the sheriff office and my dad was the owner of the museum where your sister is working. Back in 1967-1971 I was just a kid and was there when one of the Browns was killed in a plane crash. I really miss It.
Sweet place! Thanks for sharing…
Great and wonderful information !
Great tour, love to stop by and get a shake!!
This is awesome I like stuff like that
