service limit is 3mm
pad pin/bolt is 13# torque
pad pin plug 1.8# torque
I mentioned that the pad pins were galvanized which is incorrect, they are stainless.
Another way of doing this besides taking off the front wheel is by unbolting the caliper mounting bolts, but Honda service manual says that they need to be replaced once unbolted. Besides I had to replace the front tire anyways.
You can also push the calipers in towards the center of the wheel while everything is still on to push the pistons in and pads to spread open but I rather not do it this way because the piston is dirty and I like to clean them to ensure that the seals don't get damage. Also this method uses just your hands to push in the pistons and they don't normally push in that easy unless they are clean and new.

The rear had plenty of life and I rarely use the rear brakes so I think they'll last me at least twice as long as the front.
How many miles did your front pads last before needing replacement?

Is this the front or rear break pads? It looks lik the front. I need to know how to get into th back one.
look up my rear wheel removal video. I never had to replace the rear shoes in the 80k miles of riding this scooter...but I don't do much city/stop N go riding
