    Good video. Just curious....
    Is your odometer reading correct?

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes sort of I ran over size tires so the reading is lower than actual. And yes those are in miles. But this is an old video with low miles

  • @kenweaver869
    @kenweaver869 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Keeping the rollers and drive belt fresh and new every two or three years keeps it at 52mph (i need to refresh mine; I am at 48mph top speed).
    And adding a taller back tire to take a bit of work off the engine means you can hit 56-58mph on a flat surface at 9k RPMs, which is what the engine is speed-governed at.
    And the bigger tire gives you better MPG.
    I usually get 100-107 under 35mph.
    But the tire change will keep your MPG rating at 100+ at 40-45 MPH.
    I have seen a lot of your videos, and some of your upgrade ideas come at the cost of good MPG.
    The tires is one of the best changes to make.
    But I love this video because you don’t lose your milage per gallon.

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't done anything to this scoot that would lose fuel milage except gearing too tall: Dr.Pulley Sliders, Kitaco final drive, and oversize rear tire. Once I removed the Kitaco gear fuel milage increased. If you do the Kitaco then stick to stock tire size. Shaving the drive boss is a BAD idea and I say so in the description of that video(s).
      How I know when to change my drive is when it can't do 50mph anymore which is usually after 10k miles, more or less. So that is more or less my drive change interval.

      DaBinChe i love how knowledgable you are and I love your videos; they are super helpful.
      I just got my Elite in August. It was a great price - $1200, and it only had 1,796 on the odometer. But it does 48, and I have done obsessive research, so it’s time to get it up to 55.

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kenweaver869$1200 is a great price for the milage.
      So I suggest the larger rear tire 4x10 and Dr. Pulley sliders 12.5grams. This combo gets me to 55mph with a 100/90 front tire. If stock front size it'll show 57-8mph. I prefer the larger tires for more comfort and ground clearance. Stock size tires will have quicker steering and acceleration.

    • @kenweaver869
      @kenweaver869 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      DaBinChe think I will keep the stock front and the taller back.
      Not ready to mess with the rollers yet but soon!

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kenweaver869 I wouldn't do the final drive, unless you live/ride in a flat area. For me oversize rear tire, and sliders is perfect. Or you could do only the final drive with stock tire size, and/or sliders. But not final drive and over size tire together.

    Subscribed. I see you are in California, I am in San Diego. I just bought a black 2010 Honda elite from a retired old man who owned two and only needed 1. 6,000 miles. I’m 145lbs and I can’t get it past 48mph. What would you recommend doing that’s cheapest to get it back above 50mph? Need some advice and if your in San Diego area let me know id like to meet you. Also, how many miles do you currently have on your Honda elite and how many miles do you think these are capable of going?

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My first Elite had over 76k miles, sold it to a buddy down in LA. On my second one now and over 8k miles. These scoots are good for at least 50k miles before wear and tear items need to be replaced that are "non consumables". The first one will be good for at least 100k miles, already replaced those wear item. Check out my other video or at least the titles to see what has been done to the 1st elite.
      You'll want to do the zip tie on the throttle body cable to prevent rubbing and shorting those wires.
      Speed loss is caused by worn tires, belt, rollers, variator. But also check the tires sizes too that will affect speed reading too.
      I'm in the BayArea.

      DaBinChe when I go top speed. I hear like a slight metallic vibration or ringing noise. Not sure what it is. It’s not bad and it only does it when I’m twisting full throttle.

      @@robertp9370 10year old scoot would need new belt, rubber doesn't last that long. While in there change the variator and rollers too. I suggest Dr.Pulley 12.5g sliders. Just make sure you put them in properly. I have a video on that. Might want to check your valve clearance too.

      DaBinChe ok I’ll get all that done plus the rear tire upgrade. Mines worn. Also I can’t for the life of me get the seat to open. The guy had a hard time opening it but he got it open but I can’t get it open. I put the key in the seat position then push it in but I don’t hear any unlocking and the seats just stuck no matter how much I shake it. I’ve seen it open before with the previous owner but I can’t figure it out... update: I opened the front cover and undid the black cover that covers the Metal string that unlatched* the under seat storage, it was interfering with the mechanism to open and lock the trunk. I also learned that you have to not just push once but firmly firmly push the key in the seat position to get it to open. So by unblocking the plastic piece it seems to move a lot better now and with a firm push it unlocks right away now very predictably. I just left the plastic cover unlatched to give it space to do it’s thing. Locks and unlocks super easy now at the firm increasing pressure pushing of the key until I hear it click unlocked*

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@robertp9370 you can also try pushing the seat down to release tension off the seat latch while pushing in the key so it freely/easily unlocks too. This is what I have to do when I over fill the serunk.

    Mine tops out at 46.. as far as I know it’s stock. It’s a 2010 NHX 110 and it’s like it just will not go any faster. Takes off quick I can usually leave traffic behind on take off in town, but it doesn’t even get close to 50. My friend is very small and weighs just over 100lbs and he can’t get it any faster than 46mph either. What is going on?

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mileage? Check your drive, could be gunked up with belt dust. Worn drive and rear tire will take off 5mph on top easy. Valve check/adjustment, can also take off top speed too if out of spec. Front tire size? If you are using a larger then OE front tire it will show a slower reading too.

    • @ms1914
      @ms1914 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DaBinCheIdk why I never replied to this but my mileage is 9000 miles. Tire size is stock. New air filter, runs perfect. Acceleration is fast up to 35 then slows a tad then tops out completely at 46. Feels like it has some kind of governor.

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ms1914 That feel of a governor is the rev limiter. So that tells me that your drive is worn. Drive wears faster in hotter conditions. Also clean out the belt dust, cause from belt wear. The dust can gunk up the drive slowing it down. The three things of the drive that wears and slows you down are the belt, rollers, and variator (both sides). I usually replace the drive parts once I lose 5mph off the top speed. I normally replace the drive parts around 10k miles with regular use. When I go on long road trips I replace them sooner, as early as 3000miles. One thing that can make the scoot faster is to use Dr.Pulley sliders. I don't recall the weight used, don't even remember the stock roller weights. I have video on it if you want to find the weights used. The DrPulley sliders will increase top speed by a few mph as well as increase acceleration a little.

      When I sold my first NHX110 it had about 80,000miles. These were hard miles too not putting around town. Rode it across the USA coast to coast 4 times. Ridden up down the west coast half a dozen times along with other week long trips. On top of that my commute each day was 80miles through the mountains.

I also ordered a 4.0x10 tire that will fit as you mentioned.
