I think Todd was talking more about kids. Kids do have a general bias of whether they'll buy boy or girl characters. Boy characters are notorious low seller in fashion doll lines which is why you don't see a lot of make characters compared to female ones. And vis versa, female characters usually sell less in boy action figure lines. Granted, this doesn't blanket all kids but sale patterns show it a different way. Now when it comes to ADULT COLLECTORS, we want EVERY character no bias (unless the character sucks that bad and the quality is that shit) On the plus, if you maker's factor in both kid and adult collectors things MIGHT change. MIGHT is the key word.

Great video Michael. I like Action Force for a number of reasons. You hit pretty much all of them. GI Joe Classified like most lines now get you on nostalgia which I liked initially and still do for some figures. Action Force to me gets the feeling from childhood where you experience new. New characters, new factions. The Garrison and the Swarm being different enemy factions hits what I like about MOTU. Instead of just Skeletors Evil Warriors you get the Horde or the Snakemen.
Great video. Although I don’t collect military action figures, space and budget being my main concerns, I am seriously tempted. Regardless, I enjoyed your video and was sold on the quality of the line. Thanks, Retroblasting, for your hard word and passion.
🔥🔥🔥 Amazing thank you for the kind words as well. So informative and well worded as always man. I ll watch this a few more time to hold me over until the new episode of manchild news 😁
When I was younger the G.I.JOE comics were my favorite stimulus for wanting the toys and adventure ideas. The cartoon was interesting (but fast paced), but comics allow each character to be front and center, giving the reader a memorable and (dare I say intimate) experience with each issue. I spent many hours reading the comics in the attic, animating action scenes and feeling as though I now knew more about each character than ever before. This is something I think is lacking with Star Wars over the years. I love hearing your enthusiasm and passion for this line!
This was gold! You take reviews to the next level that sets it apart from everyone else! If I come to TH-cam wanting to learn about Action Force, all I need is your review and Analog Toys review and I’m set! All others are just icing on the cake!
I absolutely loved the skit with the guards. Speaking of those, I really hope that Bobby re-releases the blue and urban camo one from series 1. I really regret skipping those guys now that there are more gear sets available.
Thank you, great video! Probably my favorite Series 3 review. I too was surprised by Eclipse. While Pandora got my attention, Eclipse sealed the deal and made me glad I took a chance on collecting Valaverse Action Force. Can't wait to see the shape of things to come.
I think what I like about Eclipse's two headsculpts is that aside from the unique eye popping paintjob of her scarf, it becomes more involved on her alternate head. And you could also go with it the other way around. The hooded face could be the standard Eclipse head, while the other is her unmasked version. Totally up to your preference.
I'm just getting into this line, and when it was announced that the girls would be available for order, Eclipse became a priority to get, as I couldn't get them all at once.
Honestly, I’m pretty selective on female figures. I don’t buy a whole lot. However, once I found out about Action Force and saw the initial series 3 reveals, I knew I had to have these. All of these figures are incredible, and had to buy multiples to kitbash, and keep some in package. Action Force just keeps smashin. I’m in this line for the LONG haul. If I was to add any complaint I have with the line, it’s this… because I discovered the line a little late, I missed the entirety of series 1, missed delta gear packs, and certain troop builders. It’s not even an issue with the line itself other than replenishment, but Bobby has already been doing SOOO much on his own, can’t really get upset about it. At least I was able to get a majority of everything else, and still adding more almost weekly.
I like how you consider what the "Original 13" are when one of them consists of an internet toy reviewer. There's just something humorous and yet equally awesome about that.
An excellent video once again. To me however, kill switch was the sleeper of the wave. I was excited for both Pandora and Eclipse as soon as I saw them. I liked Kill Switch but she did not stand out to me until I had her in hand. I now feel all three are massive standouts to this incredible line that’s brought excitement back to collecting.

What an Outstanding Video About Truly Outstanding Products…
Great video and review as usual. Oh and cool new title intro. I will say I was hoping the video would have a post credit scene with Gordon alone at a campfire excitedly explaining how he'd cover their six.
I came late to collecting Action Force and only joined after series 3, but damn I love these figures, I have a sense of this being the first time I have seen what a modern collectable figure line could actually look like in the 21 millennium.
We got ArticulatedNinja's Niner, Retroblastings Gordon and Derek; it's nice to see the Republic Guard getting love outside of just them being custom fodder. Personally I love to field them both as Action Force personnel or New Colonia forces, as I'm certain Kerak's Garrison isn't the only military faction NC has to spearhead its influence. Or maybe they're just the cleanup crew after Bone Collectors rampages. Keep up with your videos Michael, especially the funny skits im gonna call ''video comics'' from now on!
12:22 This is such a great detail that completely went over my head the first time you talked about this. Its pretty impressive how versatile this toy line is you could easily just get away with buying a squad of commandos without sinking your teeth into the wider story arcs.
My first Valaverse figure was Sgt. Slaughter. When I saw the series 3 figures, I pre-ordered Pandora and the Special Ops figure. When I saw reviews for the other ones I passed on, I HAD to order Eclipse. It was the alternate head. LOVE IT! I ordered Killswitch and Steel Brigade and another Special Ops. Also ordered the bloodied Pandora. The Special Ops I ordered had a very stiff neck joint and broke. I sent an email to Valaverse and without issue, they sent me a replacement figure within a week. I think I'll order the comics and if they ever re-issue figures from the first series, I'll get some of those.
Very well documented! Action Force from Valaverse has quickly become my 2nd favorite collection Line and I simply can’t wait to see what’s in store this year and the future of this line! Thanks for sharing!
These are absolutely some of the most exciting action figures on the market! It's totally incredible! Thanks for bringing these wonderful figures to my attention!
Great review. Just started getting into GI Joe Classified last summer. Discovered Valaverse about 2 months ago and I’m hooked. I think they are making Hasbro up their game and that’s a win win for collectors
On the Power Ranger point the Green Ranger was the reason Saban choose the 16th season of Super Sentai Zyuranger to be the Bases for Mighty Morphin along with its Dinosaur theme instead the 15th Season Birdman Bird theme that he was initially trying to get Toei to sell him the rights to
I only have Desert Ratt because I found it at a collectors shop and am a fan of all you guys, but as much as I love GI Joe, I love these Figures, they are absolutely stunning! I also believe we need this a fresh new Fandom, I'm glad that in my 50's I finally get to see this again in my lifetime.

A clear approach goes a long way. No nostalgia or knowledge of the Palitoy line is required for appreciation. Would've been just as strong without the title acquisition. Since it's pretty much doing its own thing its timeline begins now. If the *toy + other media* approach continues there will eventually need to be decisions made about the duration of the line, as opposed to branding it as primarily a Toyline - in which case an indefinite run is reasonable (example: Barbie). ...As of now I see it somewhere in the realm of "Mythic Legions", though more likely to hand one of these off to a kid for bashing around during Combat Play. Action Force is definitely benefitting from the direction of Vala. Oddly enough it'll wind up showing bigger companies what is actually "marketable". Kinda reminds me of discussions regarding Auto-Tune vs Vocal Prowess in the Music Industry.
These are very impressive figures, the realism in the gear is my favorite feature, also The Living Daylights is my favorite Bond film as well, with my personal favorite Bond car the Aston Martin V8 which is currently on display at the Petersen museum in Los Angeles which is a must see, but I have a feeling you may have already been there with your choice of personal weekend fun vehicle.
After watching the video, it gave me goosebumps. I was into the military figure line, but you made the background story of Eclipse so compelling. I truly hope that Bobby Vala runs with this line and sets a new bar of character development, story arcs, and time relevance of this and future decade to come. This line reinvigorated me getting into military action figures. But, did Bobby Vala really have to take a dig on ninjas? 😂 just kidding and I get it. Well thought out and said!
I admit that was my fault. I wasn’t sure how to correct, edit or leave it alone. I take ownership to the mistake. I didn’t know there was an etiquette to correcting error.

Michael - I truly appreciate the effort on this video. I sincerely state that Valaverse Action Force has been adored from these eyes as a result of these efforts of yours. Then there is #Laserpants and the car.
As a kid I always deftly avoided female action figures. Even with She-Ra the only figure I had was Bow. Only now as an adult can I immediately see how much impact and variety they add to a line.

me and my husband loves action force and i love the fact they added strong women! I am Japanese and i would love to see Valaverse add an Asian female that ISN’T a Kunoichi! My husband is ex-military and loves collecting gi joe classified and Action Force! My husband even has classic English Action force when his father was working in Britian with the USAF. Valaverse is doing what we want! making wonderful figures!
When you're the big dog it's easy to rest on your laurels. When you're the underdog you have to push yourself harder to make your mark and it shows. Valaverse really has had an impressive launch in terms of characters, supporting media, and innovation-- especially when you compare the size of the company to the juggernaut in Pawtucket.
I won't like, I really liked the sci-fi 'nerf' guns for the starting GI Joe Classified. But, I lean more towards science-fiction. I really like the Steel Brigade though, and the Swarm are what I'd really like to get. Eclips and Kill Switch Look really cool, I must admit.
wow, this video gave me more reasons to be appreciative of this live. Bobby (edit) cares about action figures and cares about the adult collector. The most hopeful thing for me about Action Force, I am hoping this line succeeds financially in an adult hobby where I see many surly people that love to tear each other apart.
This is the perfect military toy line the figures are great army builders great customisation even the accessories are better than the classified line i even love the name of the toy line ACTION FORCE
Great commentary. This is my favorite line to collect of all time. I collected Spawn, Dc Direct, and Marvel Legends back in the day. I tried to collect G.I. Joe Classified, but I was turned off by their limited availability in the stores and online. I gave up collecting. Valaverse and Action Force pulled me back in.
As a kid who had aspirations (unfulfilled) to have his own personalized G.I.Joe Steel Brigade figure back in '87, I'll never get used to hearing "Steel Corps"....Lol
I've heard a lot about these figures and bought Eclipse, and the accessories, the look, the sculpt etc etc is fantastic. I grew up on Marvel so have mainly been collecting ML and some Mezco and Mafex, but these figures and the backstory have me hooked. Going to do my best to break my unhealthy and expensive Marvel Legends addiction and switch to just collecting this. Eclipse rules
I only own one Action Force figure (Desert Rat) but i love it, and it prompted me to buy all the comics, which i also really enjoyed. And while i'm not sure how i feel about Bobby, his customer service is good and competition in the market is a good thing!
I am really enjoying action force. However by large I am an in package collector but fine myself torn at wanting to open them and as the line grows space and funds must be conserved. Question to open or not to open. Great video Michael.
Sadly I only have two figures from this line .because I live in the UK they are hard to come by so hopefully as the line grows hopefully so will the availability of products for now I will just have to enjoy your joy nice video 👍
Action Force is on another level. It's got many things it takes to succeed. Doesn't feel like they're trying to find their rhythm like so many series, enduring or short-lived, have to muck around to achieve. It has been preordained and it seems Bobby's vision is clear and focused. I predict the beginning of great things for this franchise...
These action force figures look great and makes me want to get them, the only thing that stops me everytime is the face sculpts. After looking at a bunch of the comments, it’s seems like I’m the only one that feels this way. Eclipse the comic art looks incredible and I love her face design, I was super stoked to see THAT face in 3-D but it’s not that face. The figure looks nothing like her art. not even a hint of that face. The biggest problem with all the female faces are the bug eyes. They need to be softened up. If I had an eclipse figure, she’d definitely be one with the face covered unfortunately. C’mon Valaverse, you’ve come this far, just push it a tiny bit. 🙂
Awesome review presentation ❗I'm all in on Action Force FIGz❗ Just waiting on my pile of loot to ship from BBTS so that I may pop these ladies out of there boxes!
In my opinion, ( which is not necessarily a fact ) it's hard to find fault with this incredible video by RetroBlasting or the quality of the Valaverse Action Force toyline.
I did a double take looking at the rifle they gave the Baroness. It really is a miniaturized Nerf Longstrike CS-6 in every detail. That in itself is kind of cute. I wouldn't mind a line of miniature nerf gun accessories for action figures but it's totally unfitting for the Baroness though. Great video!
Such a great show, thank you Michael. I am torn between Eclipse, Killswitch and Pandora, with a slight edge to Eclipse. I held off on ordering the Steel Brigade female, but I think that was a mistake 😂
tell Bobby Valla that Critical Role did a crowd funding campaign to put there cartoon together .... Vallaverse can do the same thing ... and give us the military cartoon we so desperately need plus i wanna see Baron Ironblood ...lol
Another great segment. But @retroblasting you need to do an episode on why The Living Daylights is your favorite James Bond film. As a James Bond fan I'll be here for that discussion. (It's not my favorite BUT I'm always intrigued by why others like certain Bonds over others)
The action force head sculpts for alot o Thems look like actual folks I've meet in life
Wait, you unboxed your Pandora? You opened Pandora's Box?! 😯
This video was excellent. I love Eclipse, such a great figure. The skit with the Spec Ops Trooper was hilarious!
Todd MacFarlane claims no one would want an “all-female wave” of characters in toy form. Yet, here we are! Another point for Action Force!
Only LEGO and diecast sells at Walmart.
MacFarlane was referring to an all female wave in a mass retail store setting.
I think Todd was talking more about kids. Kids do have a general bias of whether they'll buy boy or girl characters. Boy characters are notorious low seller in fashion doll lines which is why you don't see a lot of make characters compared to female ones.
Great Video! I love the break down!
"I gotta call my girlfriend in Canada." 😂🤣💀
I am really enjoying action force. However by large I am an in package collector but fine myself torn at wanting to open them and as the line grows space and funds must be conserved. Question to open or not to open. Great video Michael.
Sadly I only have two figures from this line .because I live in the UK they are hard to come by so hopefully as the line grows hopefully so will the availability of products for now I will just have to enjoy your joy nice video 👍
But we all love the underdog that font just stand up too the challenge but some how against it all wins
High five for that You Got That Look sample!! 🤟
_You Got That Look sample._ What does that mean?
@@timothyward8695 it's a sample of a Prince song Michael added close to the beginning of the video.
@@justinsixx90 Thanks for the explanation. I can be ignorant of some musical things.
@@timothyward8695 anytime friendo! Prince is one of my heroes so I really dug him adding it lol!
I like the line a lot. But I mix them in with my Classified line. We still cool?
Unusual question. Your toys, display them how you like.
Great vid! 🎉
WOW never heard of it, looks cool
Such a great show, thank you Michael. I am torn between Eclipse, Killswitch and Pandora, with a slight edge to Eclipse. I held off on ordering the Steel Brigade female, but I think that was a mistake 😂
tell Bobby Valla that Critical Role did a crowd funding campaign to put there cartoon together ....
Vallaverse can do the same thing ... and give us the military cartoon we so desperately need
plus i wanna see Baron Ironblood ...lol
Another great segment. But @retroblasting you need to do an episode on why The Living Daylights is your favorite James Bond film. As a James Bond fan I'll be here for that discussion. (It's not my favorite BUT I'm always intrigued by why others like certain Bonds over others)
🤘🤓🤘nice!
Excellent video Michael French! @RetroBlasting
Is that tagline Prince reference?
If you watched the video, you'd know
