The addiction is definitely real. Just got my first Benchmade with the 273-03 and now I really want an Osborne.
Get the 940! It's a great knife. Pretty much all you need.

The 945 is my favorite edc. I only carry the 940, or other larger knife if I think I may need it. This is a tough little knife that does most things well. Thinking about upgrading to the new magnacut version, but I really like s30v.
Because of the Osborne's reputation, I ordered one of these Minis off Amazon for two bills before I realized the many variations on the theme. Dagnabbit. Might have to get some un-purple barrel spacers and a deep-carry clip. And when I unboxed this green-scaled, uncoated S30V blade I did not necessarily dig it. The finish on the scales was weird. It was hard, dry fuzzy and it grabbed and retained clothing, skin, and as I found out natural oil from my hand; almost like the finish had to break in. Now it is tolerable.
The blade is perfectly centered! though. lmao. and that's a big deal. Then, coming from finger-tip-flip, spring-assisted Kershaws and CZTs I did not AT FIRST appreciate the Benchmade thumb stud and blade lock action. I thought then the purchase may have been a mistake. I figured it out and almost 24 hours later I LOVE THIS THING. Effin-A what a sweet little piece. Sharp as a scalpel, light as a feather and a sweet-feeling action. Dang. Who knew. You guys did, apparently. I am convert.
I was not a fan of expensive knives so I started buying fake Benchmade knives. Then I fell in love enough to buy a bunch of real ones lol. Now I got 8 of them and planning in more.
I have the green aluminum version. I 5th pocket the 940, which kind of carries like a smaller knife, so the 945 hasn’t hit it yet for me. I wish I’d gotten the black/blue version.
The Gold Class is incredible! For EDC I really like the Black G10/Blue Combo. Such a cool collection

I just saw a 945 with a 555 blade swap. One of the coolest modifications I've ever seen.

Really cool Zach! My only 940 is the BHQ exlusive. Im waiting for them to do the same look for the 945. If not ill have to get the Shot Show next year when they put it on sale or just go custom orange with black blade and hardware

I doubt I’d care much for the 945, but I haven’t tried it… I just can’t see how this would beat the Bugout or mini Bugout for myself… I’m not surprised you prefer it to the Bugout but you been huffin’ 940 fumes 😂

You guys have any thoughts on the 940 vs 945? I currently have a Narrows and a Mini Adamas and am looking to complete a 3-pc Benchmade set, can't decide which to go with.
Personally Benny I have been carrying a 940 for over 20 years, so I think it is hard for me to not recommend this one as a #3 for your Benchmade set! The 945 is smaller and would be a good secondary carry or for shorts. The 940 has the longer blade/handle and fill my hand better (large sized). The 940 will fit good with the Narrows and Mini Adamas.
I'm thinking I may end up keeping that SHOT Mini, but will need to get some good Ti scales for it.
ETA: the Limited Edition, the 4 digit is 2 digit year and 2 digit month?
I just realized that SHOT Mini is 2401, and my Barrage is a 2207, and it made me think that's what the 4 digit code on the Limited means.
I want that burnt copper that they have out right now!
The burnt copper is fantastic and pairs with the battlewashed blade so well!
I love the 940.... the only 945 thus far is the gold. Not sure why, but I think I'll stick with either the MPR, Immunity, or the Om as the 5th pocket carry.
