    Love your coop set up! I’m going to use your idea for next boxes. New too chickens living in the Leavenworth Wa area.

    I love your chicken breeding setup. Would you mind sharing the specs with me please? I’d love to mimic on my new property that I just purchased. Thank you

      Each coop is 6x6... I would have actually preferred 4ft deep to clean easier. I’m pretty sure the runs are 10ft long not including the 6ft underneath. Height 🤷‍♀️ sorry!!

    That’s so smart! I’ve been trying to figure out a way to separate out my flock (I keep hatching out mostly roosters) without needing to get rid of any. This is brilliant! Any chance you’ve got measurements somewhere of how long the coop in the back is, how tall it is, etc?

    Searched a lot for ideas and finally settled with your design. Can you share continuation video of this particular shed

      Unfortunately no. We decided to leave WA state and sold that farm. What questions do you have?

    I really like the design of them. They could actually be use as brooders as well, with runs.

      I definitely did do that as well!

      @@PrairieHeirloomFarm I think it's an awesome dual purpose design. Our climate is very wet in the spring and usually throughout the summer as well. This year I lost 15 chicks due to all the rain and constant wet ground with parasite and bacteria. With these pens, I could just leave them inside till the ground dried, and totally avoid any issues.

    I read in your comments you moved and so don’t have access to specs. Did you build something different on your new property that’s different? I love this idea . I want to build this with a few changes but the whole concept is great. I can’t figure out how 6’x6’ is is not wasteful on the 8’ sheets of siding. Did you just cut 2’ off the siding? I would think to do either 8’x4’ or 4’x4’ I don’t understand the 6’ . Lol but I’m also not a builder . Haha. Great design though.

    I’ve been mulling a very similar idea over winter and i’m going to do something similar. I’m so glad to see someone do this. I was thinking 4ft deep. How high is your coop from ground up? I was thinking 2ft of open area under and 4 ft on low side of slope on roof. I’m curious if you get snow on your run roof and does it hold up? I was going to use chicken wire on roof to keep hawks out but a cover might be better for them. Any thoughts? Thx

    hi, im in the uk and just starting up my smallholding. my main business plan is breeding bantam chickens. your setup would be perfect for me!! do you have a video on how you built your coop and runs?

    • @PrairieHeirloomFarm
      @PrairieHeirloomFarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We don’t but my best advice is to keep it very simple! The less things to clean around or crevasse bugs can get in the better!

    • @PrairieHeirloomFarm
      @PrairieHeirloomFarm  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Andrew Wizzlehart we cant remember 🤦‍♀️ it’s either 8’ or 10’ plus the 6’ underneath the coop. Total of either 6’x16’ or 6’x14’.

      In another comment, she said they are 6’ x 6’ but that 4’ would’ve been easier to clean. Ten foot runs. She didn’t know the height. HTH.
