From a 20 yr back injury sufferer I'll give you the same advise I gave my S-I-L who has a weak spot in his back also.... STRENGTHEN the MUSCLES ON BOTH SIDES OF YOUR WEAK SPOT. Work on both sides of muscles so they are EVEN. Being EVEN in STRENGTH is the secret to eliminating future injuries. You should have a daily routine of 10-20 mins protecting your back and NOW before starting on the house is time to start. Keep your faith & prayer life strong too. Many blessings from Aussie.🤗🇦🇺
Also if you can see a very good physical therapist to get a good look at your muscle groups and give you an accurate exercise/therapy program! I thought I just had a bad back but I found out my body "reroutes" using different muscle groups than a motion is supposed to use since that one is so weak. My traps are so weak from long term pain and favoring that I unconsciously use the front of my chest and neck instead of using my back. I have to do special exercises that forces me to isolate and actually engage the traps instead of whatever nearby muscles I can use instead. Having a genius therapist can truly help you understand what is truly going on within your body. Another therapist just said I have weak traps and kept me doing routines that only furthered the problem because how my body engages the muscles incorrectly.
I have always heard of putting some sort of steel mesh down on the ground that goes past the structure and buried so predators won’t be able to burrow under the structure and kill the chickens
Putting the mess at least 1 foot down and 1 to 2 feet out. This way it will keep the coyote and other from digging under it. Keep up the great work! 😊👍
Tip of day when sweeping a concrete floorfill any bucket with sawdust soak it well with water and sprinkle over the floor before brushing keeps the dust down saves having to clean that rv and every surface in the barn take care all Bill from the UK😉❤👌👌
Concrete dist is a bad thing for the lungs.... Being in the industrial constitution/plant work I have seen it to many times. Always use some form of dust down❗ Forget about the trailer 🤣
As a single mom of 2 teenage boys we decided to do something similar & moving out of the city to live the off grid lifestyle. You guys are my inspiration 🥰
I'm a single mom with 2 teen boys who's also left the city for off grid life in the country. And my middle name is also Lynn lol Good luck on your journey!!
I'm really enjoying seeing you build this life for yourselves. I'm 65, but if I was younger, this would be wonderful! May you have much joy, happiness, good health celebrations, and success!
Melissa, the content, sound, editing and producing of your videos is at a professional level. I've seen TV shows that are not as well done. You should be very proud of this ! 🌹
As so.eone who has dealt with back pain for 1/3 of my life I can see every push, or work through the pain moment. Always gets better till it gets worse. Stay tough 💪you guys are my rabbit, chickens, sheep's and maybe goats inspiration.
recommend a lite cardio in morning with stretch before and after.. along with back stretch through the day.. last thing u want is back tightening through the day with all both of you do.. a lite morning and possible evening exercise program could benefit both of you best thing could incorporate the kids to teach the next lvl of healthy living .. sound mind , sound body, sound life
i am glad you are feeling better Jeremy. please be careful to not injure your back again. i have pulled the same muscle in my back to many times to count. gets worse and longer to heal every time. Love you all, God Bless you.
Glad you're feeling better, Brother. You guys are inspirational and so loving and caring of and for each other and your family. Just plain good folks, God and family loving, honest and hard working. Keep up the wonderful work and God bless you all.
Awesome seeing you two again. So glad Jeremy is healing. That coop is going to be a castle. Love watching you work outside. Gods country no doubt. Bless you all. Meant to say in one of your recent videos the patch collection looks like a heart around the flag.
It is such a pleasure to watch you two interact while building your homestead. How lucky you both are to have each other. You are great! Terrific music choice.
You two play very nice together. The music is great. You have a beautiful family and place there in Idaho. I look forward to watching you build your forever home someday.
"Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain. Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, And let her own works praise her in the gates." Proverbs 31: 10, 11, 30, 31 NKJV. Continue to be the blessing the LORD created you to be alongside your husband. Jesus Christ has made the both of you a great team for Him! CS
Glad Jeremy is getting better. Love the music as it really fits! Your camera work and editing are beautiful, as are the two of you. Thanks for letting us in on your homestead building journey. Blessings to your family and much Aloha. 💝🏡🏠💝🏡🏠💝😃
Oh you two! I cant watch every video you put out, but when I do watch, the two of are like chicken soup for me! How incredibly blessed you are. Please always keep it real. As as long as God, each other and your children are your main focus, no challenges you may ever come up against will destroy this incredibly life you are all living. My prayers for complete restoration of all health issues for Jeremy.
I'm glad you are on the road to getting better Jeremy .Back issues are never good especially recurring ones..I know as I also have them.. Great job Melissa... Blessings to the family
Welcome back! The coop looks great, where you currently are in the build I worry about snow load. I know you're still building so I'll wait to critique in full. You know how it is all of us building from our living rooms gotta tell you how to do it. Great job, love y'all.
I really enjoy watching y'all work. I could watch other people working all day 😂 The music is great. Still living vicariously through your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Just found your channel a few weeks ago and ‘binged” watch from the beginning. I love the way you two interact and include your kids. Glad to see Jeremy has gotten better.
love it. scares the stuff outta me tho' with the weird warm temps- I'm in Ottawa and working outside- running around in a polo shirt over a long sleeve shirt with sleeves rolled up- ..... and comfortable- your sheep are eating grass where there should be snow- wow. Glad to see you up on feet and smiling Jeremy (you too Melissa ! but you were never off your feet )- looking forward to seeing the chickens in their new home :) Always a good time spending with you guys !
Love the shot of your dog basking in the sun on top of that cardboard box!...also the cat walking thru the grass!....Glad your feeling better but keep up the stretching even after you feel recovered.....God bless you abundantly and stay safe and healthy!
I've asked several times about the music you play, and never got an answer, so this time, I stopped the video and did a thorough DuckDuckGo search. Victory is mine!! Drew Holcomb - I Like To Be With Me When I'm With You!! Just in case anyone else was wondering. LOL Glad to see Jeremy back up and around (don't over do it) and glad to see Melissa with her usual charm and wit. Curious to see your completed coop. My neighbor has problems with raccoons, skunks and weasel's getting in and killing his chickens or stealing eggs. Another great video!! Keep em comin!
You can always resituate your chicken coop when you move in to your house, but your chickens being that far from the pole barn, is making it easier for predators to not be bothered if they want your chickens, and harder for you to keep them happy. So far your idaho winter has been very warm.but you may yet still have heavier snow. Next to your garden rather than so far back behind it would be a much better place IMO in the long run. There is already a clear space for it and its closer to both the pole barn and the house. Work smarter not harder 🥰 love the progress so far x glad you are feeling better Jeremy!
Don't forget weasels and martens kill chickens up there. A solar powered 1 foot high electric chicken wire fence staked 1 foot away around the outside might be something to have especially were you have the coop at. The martens are the worst predators because their so small and as skinny as a mouse they get in the smallest of holes their fangs are very long they will kill everything in the coop and not eat any of it cause their to small. Their the ninja's of the weasel family.
Yes, for that reason I was thinking they should be using much smaller mesh wire, like chicken wire or even 1/2 inch hardware cloth, but an electric mesh fence would probably be even better, as you said.
Absolutely love and adore my wife. But working with her is absolutely almost impossible I built her a ranch in California she had stalls corrals and fencing. I built pig pens duck touch chicken pants chicken houses rabbit hutch we both agree she needs to tell me what she wants and I build it I might need her help to lift something but that she gets to go back to the house LOL I love that you guys can actually work together I would actually like to see the whole video is it really like this LOL anyways you guys work great together whether you cut 90% or not LOL love the content keep it up!
It's going to be a chicken coup mansion . Great to see you both back as always you both do a great job . A match made in heaven I have to say . It's s great life you have chosen . Look after yourselves
Happy to see Germie, Lol, is so much better! And dang how many chickens are you all getting? Sweeping is the worst chore for someone with a back injury. That and washing dishes. OMG! So painful.
Glad your feeling better Jeremy! I smiled during this whole video and even laughed out loud at times 😍 You’re living in God’s country, absolutely breath taking and so blessed to wake up and see that every day! 🙏
JEREMY ONE OF THOSE BACK BRACES THAT HAS THE SUSPENDERS THAT YOU WERE DOWN LOW IT'S GOT TWO WIDE BANDS THAT YOU PULL TIGHT TO USE WHILE WORKING WORK GOOD
Those are great if you want to ruin your back. Stretching and back strengthening exercises will work. Those belts train your back to rely on them and weaken you for further injury. Bad advise!!!!!
I can’t wait to build my second chicken coop. Like you, I learned so much from my first build regarding what works and what doesn’t. Any thoughts regarding the prevailing wind direction and how you set the coop direction and that lean-to style roof? Anchoring? Or subterranean border protection from predators burrowing under the exterior walls? Any worries about predators with the coop being the furthest out on the perimeter of the homestead? Sorry, just thinking from a tactical perspective as a cop and not an expertise in chicken farming. I love your design!!
Iv been going to the gym for 13-14 years and what saved my back and prevented further injuries was reverse hyper extensions . You can make your own to do them
Whenever I see your dog on your videos I see a gentle soul looking for attention and companionship. Dogs are pack animals. They are much happier with a friend to live and play with.
Great job Kiddos, from 81 year old with back issues since I was in my 20's. Advice is to keep that humor while you are working together to create your home in Idaho. Take good care of your body, we are only issued one!!! I really enjoy watching your progress.
I just ran in to one of your videos yesterday and became an instant fan, reminds me of my son and his wife, building a new home and including both mothers on the lower level, we all are so blessed
I have just fallen in love with this family. Your videos make we laugh and make my day. I look forward to the next ones to see your progress. Take care of each other.
That was a great video. My wife and I live on 15 acres and I am trying to learn. Chickens are next on the list. I am not a woodworker but you guys are helping me learn. Thank you.
Mighty little Melissa saved the day. Jeremy looks good carrying the snack bag. You guys are great and don't let anything stop your progress. Glad Jeremy is feeling better, but be a little bit careful so you can heal all the way. Congratulations.

As a massage Therapist I agree!!
I'm bldg my chicken shack now I've had back surgery in 2010 and have been told I need another and to that I say 🖕. Thnk God for pain meds 👍👍👍👍
I have always heard of putting some sort of steel mesh down on the ground that goes past the structure and buried so predators won’t be able to burrow under the structure and kill the chickens
Also, use as fine a mesh as possible on the walls to stop the "Joe Blakes". At least that's what they do here in Australia.
Also the mesh underground needs to curve outwards, not into the pen. 🇦🇺
Putting the mess at least 1 foot down and 1 to 2 feet out. This way it will keep the coyote and other from digging under it.
Keep up the great work! 😊👍
We did this in our Veg Garden to keep out rodents and his worked great for the past 10yrs
Tip of day when sweeping a concrete floorfill any bucket with sawdust soak it well with water and sprinkle over the floor before brushing keeps the dust down saves having to clean that rv and every surface in the barn take care all Bill from the UK😉❤👌👌
Or just suck it up with a wet/dry vac?
Concrete dist is a bad thing for the lungs.... Being in the industrial constitution/plant work I have seen it to many times. Always use some form of dust down❗ Forget about the trailer 🤣
A weed sprayer pump with just water would work good as a mister
you two have turned me on to a whole new genre of beautiful music
As a single mom of 2 teenage boys we decided to do something similar & moving out of the city to live the off grid lifestyle. You guys are my inspiration 🥰
I'm a single mom with 2 teen boys who's also left the city for off grid life in the country. And my middle name is also Lynn lol Good luck on your journey!!
Wow! You have got some grit! I am humbled. Good luck!
Do you have a channel?
Are the kids supportive of the changes or do you think it will be difficult?
Watch out for bears. The wild will take you if your not careful.
I think Jeremy could do voice over work , he has such a strong unique voice !! You all are all amazing folks !!
Audiobooks on audible.com.
Bill here...I swear, I hear "The Rock" when I'm not looking at the video...just listening to Jeremy...LOL!!
I noticed that beautiful baritone too. No worries though, I am 75 mpm to five boys. I bet his singing voice is great.
No matter how bad a day this old lady is having you always make me smile and I look forward to your videos

Keep up a daily stretching regimen. Don't overdo it. Build it up over time do it consistently and you'll see real and permanent benefits.

Sorry, we get songs from all over so I seldom know off the top of my head.
You did all the donkey work for us!!! I didnt even have to scroll down much...and Voila!!! you got my answer!!!
Ok MR. ROGERS. You are elected to name those tunes. Great Job!
You can always resituate your chicken coop when you move in to your house, but your chickens being that far from the pole barn, is making it easier for predators to not be bothered if they want your chickens, and harder for you to keep them happy. So glad to see Jeremy back, do take it slow as one wrong move can land you back in bed. but happy you are better. Bless you all.
whoa Jeremy welcome back Good to see you up and moving . awesome snack belt!
Don't forget weasels and martens kill chickens up there. And racoons, skunks, foxes, bears..they'll tear it up
Yes, for that reason I was thinking they should be using much smaller mesh wire, like chicken wire or even 1/2 inch hardware cloth, but an electric mesh fence would probably be even better, as you said.
Yeah that 1x3 wire fencing is inviting a weasel attack.. but alas you know that by now
I save your videos for when I have time to sit and enjoy...you never disappoint!!! Thank you🥰
Thanks so much! Means a lot.
Yay. Glad to see this pop up
I love watching your fur baby, just so happy to be around you.
Absolutely love and adore my wife. But working with her is absolutely almost impossible I built her a ranch in California she had stalls corrals and fencing. Anyone else love the way in which the cat/dog act as if supervising. Nice work on coop btw.
It's going to be a chicken coup mansion . Great to see you both back as always you both do a great job . A match made in heaven I have to say . It's s great life you have chosen . Look after yourselves
So glad your hubby is better. You guys are a great team. God bless.
Good to see u back 👋 ...
Glad your back is better. Good to see you back. 👍☘️
Well, Heidi didn’t last long, did she? LOL!
Glad Jeremy is feeling better!
Glad to hear you are feeling better, nothing worse than back pain!
You guys make me laugh every time, you are always happy and I love that as some people are so miserable (sorry about the spelling)
Glad to see you back. Love watching your channel from Australia
Happy to see Germie, Lol, is so much better! And dang how many chickens are you all getting?
Sweeping is the worst chore for someone with a back injury. That and washing dishes. OMG! So painful.
Glad your feeling better Jeremy!
I smiled during this whole video and even laughed out loud at times 😍
You’re living in God’s country, absolutely breath taking and
so blessed to wake up and see that every day! 🙏
Welcome back. No pun intended.
Lmao
I loved the reverse roles on the first day. You two are so good together. I am glad Jeremy is doing much better. Can't wait to see the coop progress.
I highly recommend getting a foam roller and stretching daily. Just 10 mins a day is enough
I use one daily and also use a cushion when sitting in a chair
Welcome back
The exercise ball helps your back with stretching
I use one too. It’s amazing
I'm glad hubby is doing better and the chicken house is looking good, great job!!🍀🍀😏😏😏💗💗💗
JEREMY ONE OF THOSE BACK BRACES THAT HAS THE SUSPENDERS THAT YOU WERE DOWN LOW IT'S GOT TWO WIDE BANDS THAT YOU PULL TIGHT TO USE WHILE WORKING WORK GOOD
Why are you yelling lol
Those are great if you want to ruin your back. Stretching and back strengthening exercises will work. Those belts train your back to rely on them and weaken you for further injury. Bad advise!!!!!
I really like your dog. There is something peaceful about it. Watching him being curious of what you are doing, I love it.
I love the picture of your house in the mountains behind! Beautiful!
Jeremy using the pick to flatten the ground for the chicken coop made MY back hurt., Hope he didn't over-do it!
Iv been going to the gym for 13-14 years and what saved my back and prevented further injuries was reverse hyper extensions . You can make your own to do them
I'm glad the old man is feeling better 🙂 I'm 36 this year. You definitely start feeling it 😒
Every decade brings another reminder. 😊🇨🇦
Glad to see your feeling better, but don’t overdue it!
Glad your back is better! My turn now:(
Thanks for changing it up. Jeremy, great work with the snack belt! Look who rocked the baby claw hammer!
Okay when you pulled out that Ibuprofen I could not stop laughing that was great...
Wow, the snow is all melted already. Glad you're better.
I have a pretty extensive stretching routine for your back if you ever need one.
Yaaaaaaaaaay! I love your snack belt choice Jeremy. It's often my daily choice.
💪💪💪
Hey dutch 😊
Good to see you back!God bless you all!
I guess this time around the coop gets improvements to make it a real henhouse..lol
Whenever I see your dog on your videos I see a gentle soul looking for attention and companionship. Dogs are pack animals. They are much happier with a friend to live and play with.
He doesn't like other dogs, but loves the cats. We are his pack
@@GoodSimpleLiving Boo! The poor thing is lonely and cold!
Jeremy you should wear a mask when sweeping that dust. Take it from someone who has bad sinus problems.
Great job Kiddos, from 81 year old with back issues since I was in my 20's. Advice is to keep that humor while you are working together to create your home in Idaho. Take good care of your body, we are only issued one!!! I really enjoy watching your progress.

🎻”Dad is Great - he gives me chocolate cake”🎸

My Dad would make this thing called "pigs in a blanket"...basically hot dogs in a batter which was then baked...no trace of vegetables!!😂😂
Sounds like the pop tarts and a can of soda my dad tried to pass off as dinner 🤣🤣
@@maryhart637
M6 Mom did the same with sausage. No veggies though.
Wow good afternoon. Welcome back Jeremy. Hopefully you are feeling better just take it easy. Sending greetings from Jamaica 🇯🇲
She called him Heidi lmfao 😆
I just ran in to one of your videos yesterday and became an instant fan, reminds me of my son and his wife, building a new home and including both mothers on the lower level, we all are so blessed
❤
Ask your doctor about Duexis. It is 800mg ibuprofen with a blue coating to protect your stomach.
Double blue coating to protect stomach 😫 stay away from pills ,just a patch at best ,stick with stretching it will work itself out
16:02 what a perfect song. ❤️ Glad you’re feeling better.
Love it Cereal it is! 🤣🤣🤣
Wow beautiful music guys, thanks for all that you do you make the world so sweet!
By the way watching you from Fort McMurray, Alberta!
"We're having toast tonight!" "cereal it is" XD
I have just fallen in love with this family. Your videos make we laugh and make my day. I look forward to the next ones to see your progress. Take care of each other.
That was a great video. My wife and I live on 15 acres and I am trying to learn. Chickens are next on the list. I am not a woodworker but you guys are helping me learn. Thank you.
Glad to see that Jeremy is up and about, so its chicken coop part two.
Mighty little Melissa saved the day. Jeremy looks good carrying the snack bag. You guys are great and don't let anything stop your progress. Glad Jeremy is feeling better, but be a little bit careful so you can heal all the way. Congratulations.
I loved watching all of you walking back to the house with the kitty and dog following you! ♥️♥️
