Loved your vlogs. Your upbeat personality (even when a bit grumpy 😂) makes you a great hiking companion. You truly seem to have had some great weather. I have loved watching Ben slowly getting into the whole walking in Scotland scene. He has blossomed. Well done!
Good to see Ben showing so much enthusiasm over seeing the Loch and wishing to stay there for a night or two. Such nice views as always. Regards. Andrew.
lol, easy mistake to make, Christina, but heading down to Attadale is not a bad result, apart from the horrible road walk from there to the hotel. A good day to navigate under a cloudless sky. I’ve never been to the shore of loch Calavie, but have camped 3000’ right above it…on the ridge from the peaks of Bidean a’Coire Sheasgaich to Lurg Mhor. Quiet, beautiful area.
😂😂😂 that made us laugh! We thought exactly the same when we saw the signs for ‘work party’ and we’re English 😄 We were walking along thinking if Go Outdoors or Cotswolds Outdoors company were having a work party 🎉 We did the first half of the cape wrath a few weeks before you and were the first ones in the newly renovated bothy. We only realised once we’d seen the crew being driven away and the ‘wet paint’ note was still on the door 😅 Loving your videos 🥰
REALLY??? So I wasn't the only one thinking that?? Omg I'm so relieveddd. I thought "why would a company want to hold a company party in such a remote place?" Lol
Basic gaelic lesson. dubh = black. ban = white. dearg = red. buidhe = yellow. gorm = blue. liath = grey. And every other word means 'hill' 🤣. So maol bhuidhe is 'yellow hill'. There's got to be thousands of places in Scotland called [colour] + [hill].
Wide open spaces! I don’t have much desire to hike the CDT, because it looks so hot and exposed. There aren’t many trees there in Scotland, but do the clouds usually make it better than the US desert? Glad you found your way back and you weren’t miles off track in pouring rain or something!
Yew Usually the clouds provide cover most of the times. I have zero interest hiking in the US desert. I don't like the sun on me. The scenery in the UK keeps changing unlike hiking in the US vast forests or desert. Thats why i enjoy coming to the UK. But dont hike in the remote highlands. It is really tough terrain
HI Christina, Hi Ben, how beautiful was Loch Calavie, just stunning! When the weather is like that, its very easy to go wrong, just taking in the views and batting on, and before you know it you've taken the wrong path. It's easily done, certainly not worth losing an sleep over it. At least you got to spend more time in the beautiful Scottish countryside! 😀 All the best Dave

Beautiful! I camped at the south end of Loch Calavie. It was my 31st day, so you are still well ahead of where I was.
You have done head for the hills, Andrew..
A great tribute. By sharing your thoughts as you travel. 😊

Those views were stunning.😍
Good job Christine n Ben 😊
They use the Highlands for low level flight training. You often see Hercules (C130s) and fighters flying...sometimes below you if up on the hill tops.

Nice Bothy. The wood paneling in the Bothy will keep it well-insulated. You certainly are getting great weather. 👍
Nimbocumulos!!! SCORCHIO!!
Good job on the harp at the end Christina. It must have been heavy to carry it for 16 miles.
Ben is great at narrating history
No harm done, You got there in the end. I would probably have ended up In Glasgow. Will you be having a work party when you finish the trail?Hahaha.😂
Lololol.....🤣
Oopsie......it is so easy to take a wrong turn😂😂😂
Don’t want to speak to soon but the weather seems to be fantastic most of the time👍 tough going when you are not on paths.
