    It is a British bike experience from the late 1960's without any negatives from that time. No vibration no leaks no mechanical foibles. 38,000 miles on mine with the only failure a broken speedo cable I repaired for $2.06.

    Started riding recently at 55 years old and got this exact bike as my 2nd motorcycle. I can’t tell you how much I love it! So smooth to ride and comfortable. Just added the fly screen too. Couldn’t be happier. Smiles for miles. 😁

    I love all RE bikes, have tested classic 350 and super meteor, loved it. Too bad the import fees in Indonesia made this bike cost the same as a small family car.

    I have had my Triumph Tr-6 with a hard tail and magneto for 40 years. I commuted on her for 25 years until I retired now I just do pleasure rides. I don't have a car. It should have hydraulic valve adjustment and belt drive like my Sportster. All l do is change the fluids and filter in 30 minutes in my driveway. I have had my Sportster for 25 years and 400,000 miles on the original engine and 37 back tires and 17 front ones and 3 belts in 25 years. RE recomends engine rebuild at 65,000 miles. I ride and have my bikes for decades

    Yep, well put. You nailed it. Mine, frequently gets admirers. The level of beauty, riding pleasure, value, AND utility (have GIVI side cases) is IMHO unmatched. The only issue in my 14,000 miles was a bad speedo cable which had its housing crack and completely split. Servicing costs are ridiculous, and I lost confidence in the dealer network I bought it through. I'd definitely do like a thorough background check on any dealer before I bought something much more expensive like a Triumph.

      Royal Enfield dealers are sadly a bit unreliable, they often close quit quikly found out by working for one

    I have a new modern Motorbike for my Long Trips, but when i ride the RE650 is complete a different feeling of driving. It has so much more feeling and create more emotion. You feel more connect to the simplisity, everything comes without filter and you feel it directly. You go back to the basics an enjoy the ride how it started.

      It feels unfortunate sometimes that Interstate type highways are such high speeds these days. I'd much rather cruise along on a Royal Enfield at like 65mph, than teleport myself at 80-85 MPH on a $13,000+, 500+ lb 1000cc Adventure/ Sport touring thing that gets the same MPG as a Honda CIVIC. That being said, If Royal Enfield came out with a 750 with a well designed 1/4 fairing for great wind protection, I'd probably buy it :)

    What I like about the Royal Enfield is, they are not oversized like so many other bikes….. which to me feels much more authentic to the old 650s are used to ride back in the 70s…..

    Nice review mate! 4000 bucks crazy cheap, not possible in the Netherlands. Have you bought on Ebay?

      I have bought at a local dealer when the bike had 3000 kilometers. It was a very good point to buy as the distributor for our part of Europe just went bankrupt at the time and the used and new prices fell through the floor.
      It has until now recovered a bit but you still find some cheap ones

    I'll stick with my 25 year old sv650s, 48 horse power is pathetic for any 650.

    tiny tank no solution ouside if geting something costom made, goofy rim sizes with few tire options.

    • @garyives1218
      @garyives1218 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Many side case, and top case options with which you probably could hold/secure a fuel bladder or two. Yes, tires can be on back order, so need to plan ahead.

      I really can understand the tire struggle, Michelin has some nice ones tho. Later today my episode on things I don’t like about the bike comes out ☺️
