The Starfish square was part of a bedspread I made for our youngest when he moved to his toddlers bed.

I finished my stripes and colors blanket about a month ago, it was great fun making it, your instructions were so clear and easy to follow and the yarn’s sheen makes it look luxurious. My daughter in law liked it so much I gave it to her; now I am eyeing your star fish blanket but I wander what it looks like in the white/blue palette or what it would look like in the pinks. Hi Mo, I love the colours of the original blanket you made for your son, would you be able to share the details and maybe sell as a pack?
Oh yes I’m actually planning to share the color layout over on my blog next week. The yarn pack for the original blanket is now available in my Etsy Shop. There will be a new yarn pack coming in the next few months.
I will warn you that although this is a very beautiful blanket you’ll pay a very high price for it. I paid a total of £130.89 because you also have to pay for the pattern even though you are buying all the yarn. The pattern only comes as a download and when I go to print it it is only a pattern for the squares although it stated when I purchased it that it would be a pattern for the entire blanket including joining and edging. Any other blanket kit I have bought not only comes with all the wool required but also with a printed full colour pattern for the entire blanket. At the price charged I feel at the very least a full colour printed pattern for the entire blanket should’ve been included. Not only did I have to print it out myself but I have found a few mistakes in the pattern but luckily caught them before I got too far on the project.So although it is a beautiful blanket and the cotton yarn is very nice you actually can buy much cheaper cotton yarn in as good a quality online. And I’m sorry to go on but when I went to the Etsy site to purchase the pack it told me this was the very last one and six people had it in their cart so you better hurry and get it because it’s going to run out and now Mo is telling you you can still get one. Hmmmm up to you but…

Hi, thank you for your lovely comment. You can make a few Stars as I show in the video and maybe you'll come up with a nice idea. I never tried to make the star bigger :)

Simply keep on with the framing rounds sf follows: make a dc on top of each dc and in each corner space make: 2dc + ch2/3 + 2dc.
just me who cannot for the life opf me do this pattern!!?? i can do the star part fine just when im going round the star with my second colpur it looks so bad. any tips??
I did exactly what you said but the part around ny star doesn’t look like a circle and everytime I try to do the granny square part it looks awful.. I’ve been crocheting for years and I can’t get this right what the hell.
How do we make sure that the first top point is centered?
Hello Mo. I bought your starfish pattern and the entire pack of yarns to make the original blue and white starfish blanket that you made for your son I’m now on square 75 and throughout the whole thing I’ve been a bit concerned how often shale grey and Alice is used I’m starting to run out and won’t have enough to do all of the 4th rows! Which I think are the most necessary rows to use those colours To keep the blanket symmetric. I really need some advice as to what I should do I am following your layout pattern and using the exact colours that you stated in each starfish square with 13 more squares to go… please advise as soon as possible. Beautiful! I’ve been looking for this pattern as I bought book years ago with exact same pattern (but with English stitches) in it and have since misplaced the book. Even though I am right handed and use English crochet terms I was able to follow you… 😊 with a lot of stopping and thinking 🤔 (ie: double is treble etc…) so I thought I’d look into buying this kit from you as I really like the white and blue you made for your son. But I was disappointed to see how expensive the kit is… Yes it is nice cotton yarn but more than £100 and you don’t include the pattern! That must be purchased separately!?! Doesn’t make sense to me… I understand if you have your own yarn and just want the pattern but if I spend that much on a kit it seems incomplete without the pattern included. Just my thoughts… ☮️💕🧶
I'm so happy you enjoyed watching my video tutorial and even more happy to read you could make it even though you are a right handed. Price for the yarn pack includes shipping and as you might know shipping prices are a killer at the moment. PLUS a high quality Egyptian cotton is very hard to find and also very expensive and it will get even more expensive in the future. You can use any yarn you like and I am sure your crochet stars will come up beautifully. I'm so grateful that you watched and also crocheted it with my tutorials. Mo
Thank you for your reply but I think you missed my main point I feel the pattern should be included if I buy the kit as I would like the written pattern to refer back to. In my opinion the kit seems incomplete unless you include the written pattern with it. ☮️💕🧶
@@catherineanderson8342 I don't think any designer gives out their pattern for free considering the time it took them to create it, write it, video it, etc. They must be paid for their creative work, just as anyone deserves to be paid.
