  • This week I show you how to crochet a spiral granny square using four colours. To make this in two colours, just simply follow the same pattern but use two strands in one colour, and two strands in your other colour. The order you place them will create different effects! This is a unique HappyBerry stitch design. Please do not copy.

    Any tips for keeping yarn tails from tangling?

    • @HappyBerryCrochet
      @HappyBerryCrochet  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      This is a great question. Yes, try to keep your yarn in the same position around you as you crochet, keeping and eye on where the other yarns are as you work the next one. This will prevent tangling as best as you can. Even I get tangled sometimes!

    Thank you for the following: 1) you didn’t speed it up and you did the crochet slowly the entire time. 2) bright light 3) great angle of your camera 4) you were very clear in your instructions without adding chatter. Thank you!

    I looked at the finished results of your swirly square and thought that there was no way I could do this, but I tried and I'm so pleased with the result. This is down to having a really great teacher who showed me what to do every step of the way. You inspire me to learn new things and remind me that as long as there are people like you who can show us what to do, we can accomplish many things that we though were beyond our reach. Thank you so very much for such wonderful tutorials, your time and your patience.

    This pattern is so cool, I love how it doesn't have you cutting and tying back on the colors, just continuing in that color's section. Looking forward to doing this for coasters with black, white, and two different shades of grey. I love challenging myself with new patterns to increase my knowledge and skill level.

    Since 2 year ago I've made open fingers mittens withs this pattern and they look really cool!! I just make 4 of this, add a row of the main color for the mittens, then join 2 squares by 2 sides, leaving a space for the thumb and add like 5 rows of double stitches for the wrist and 2 rows for the fingers, thanks for this tutorial, it's really clear and enough slow to follow it, thank you so much!!

    Everyone wants to do well in explaining tutorials. You are one of the best . You do not stop, you keep on explaining. I truly need the extra help and you give it. Some times its not clear to me at first but than it clears up in my brain the third and fifth time. That's why I work on your tutorials. I have learned so much from you. Thank you so much for being such a good teacher, you also explain it clearly and slowly. This helps a lot. Many go so fast so I do skip theirs because I want to do the patterns but the understanding is not there. I am one of your biggest followers. Thank You so much.....Phyllis Patrick

    Endless possibilities with this one! I’ve made coasters before but this was my first granny square. Easy weekend project. The trickiest part was making sure the yarn didn’t get toooo tangled haha. I used cotton yarn 3mm hook and ended up having to make a couple more rows cause it was so small so it took a bit longer (I thought 15dc in between was a nice size). Because of that mine has smaller spirals but it works just the same and looks fun. Thanks!

    Thank you for the tutorial. The spiral pattern seemed difficult, but you made it easy to understand and accomplish. This will be a beautiful and meaningful pattern block for my Afghan.

    The swirl is just eyecatching! Very different. Thank you. I think I might make my squares just a little bigger as starting them is quite a labour of love. Shops closed now .... going to buy my four colours tomorrow and start

    I really liked your pattern and made dishcloths from it. Then a blanket idea came into my head for a sampler of squares. So I have made 2 spirals, 12 inches across (30.5 cm). Thanks for sharing a great idea! It is a fun, interesting pattern and looks very impressive as a blanket square.

    I absolutely loved your tutorial! ❤ Your instructions are very clear and concise and your voice is very soothing. 🙂 I'm confident I can do this now and I think using 4 colors is probably easier than 2 colors but I'd also like to learn to make it with only 2 colors because I saw a really cool coat/sweater made with 2-color swirl squares. Thanks for sharing this! You're awesome!👍😊

    Looks really nice and is good to understand even if you don't now the terminology. It's my first time watching a tutorial in english (I'm from Germany) and it's realy interesting to learn some new vocabulary and also to see how you are holding the hook (right hand) and the yarn (left hand) which is a little different from the the german crochet technique

    I planned to do a granny square sampler afghan. Many tutorial squares stop with 3 rows. If you're planning to combine this square with others from other tutorials, note that this square is a "4 row" size square. (If you want a "3 row" version, just stop when she says "now we'll start the last row" and just do the finishing steps.)

I watch a lot of crocheting videos and this is the BEST taught one I have ever seen. Very Very Much appreciated!!!!!!!!!

    I make these spirals, same pattern, but I start with a magic circle, instead of a four chain loop. This gives a roomier starting area, and I tighten the loop as I go into the second row. Your demonstrations are very clear.

    Love this one! Easy yet challenging at the same time. I would start with a magic circle and I can imagine this increasing to one very large square that could be made into a cardigan with the square covering the back, then adding sleeves etc. thanks ❣️
