Yesterday i tried to follow another tutorial for a design very similar to this one. I had to redo it twice and eventually quit. Today with your video, i did it on the very first try. So nice 😍 Thanks for your tutorial ☀️
Hello Kristine! You are a good teacher, I enjoyed it very much. I enjoy also Marie from Adore Crea Crochet who is from Denmark also, so 2 good teachers in your nice country. Both of you have a calm voice. Continue your work!
when i was a complete beginner a few months ago this was the tutorial that taught me the most out of all the tutorials i had tried to understand, so i have you to thank for for getting me to where i am today in my crocheting skills :)
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I’m getting ready to do a temperature blanket that’s going to be made with squares two colors and it’s going to be one square per month high and low temperature. Perfect.❤
This is amazing and so easy to follow ❤ I’m bad at counting stitches cause math is hard, but this tutorial/pattern is so good I didn’t miss a stitch at all. 10/10 will recommend 🤌
i’m trying to use up some leftover yarn and i couldn’t find the same size hook as yours, so my square came out huge haha but still so beautiful (: now i’m trying to think of what to use them for! 🥰
Hi Kristine! Thank you so much for this tutorial. I can’t wait to recreate this granny square!! A quick question: if you decide to do DC around the outer border instead of HDC, would you still CH3 at the corners, or would you increase the CH count? Thanks for your help!
Hi, this is great, wanted to ask what are the final stch count? I have already started a project and wanted to add this one, mine are 76 stc on the final round. Thanks allot
Thank you for the tutorial, it is beautiful, unfortunately I always end up with 13 sun spikes, i dont know why, i am a beginner crocheter and for this tutorial I use double amount of yarn and 4,5 mm hook :/, help?
after trying out the pattern i have the same issue as a beginner 😅 i have 13 rays and had no issues until I went to finish the 5th row to shape the square, i had four stitches too many so i solved it by starting the row over and adding 1sc to each side so instead of 7sc it’s 8! did you manage to redo it and get 12 rays, or did you solve it other way?
I’m not sure if you are still replying to comments but on the part in round 5 where you have to switch back to yellow from blue (around 15 minutes in) the yellow crosses over the blue to finalise it, I was wondering if there was anyway to avoid that from happening??
Hii! Love your videos! I followed the heart granny square one and it worked perfectly ❤❤ TYSMMM I have a request I am trying to make a bag, could you make a tutorial on how to make plain granny square? And how to sew them together bc most videos don't show and I'm a beginner tysm❤
This was so fun! I was scared when you said on your reply to my comment on the star square that the sun was harder but honestly, it definitely wasn't for me. Sure, the round 5 was challenging, but not hard, just the right amount of difficulty to make it fun 😁 First time using two yarns together but I think I manages. I've just made my first sun and it came out perfectly, I'm in love with it! I think this one is my favorite so far! Thank you for the tutorial! I was planning to use all three of them; moon, star and the sun but their sizes seem to be different, is that normal or is it an amateur mistake that I made? 😅 The stars are just a little bit smaller but the moons have quite a difference. Should I add more rounds on the ends to use them together? Or should I skip the 3rd round to make it work together? Even so, I think the moon will still need additions.
Oh that's great to hear! And exactly - it needs some difficulty to make it fun! 🙌 Yes, it's normal for sizes not to be the same as initially I created them as separate patterns. However, you can easily adjust the squares to be the same size by adding extra rounds to the squares that are smaller (SC all around if there is a minimal difference in size, DC if the difference is bigger). 🤗 Hope this helps! ❤️ And thanks so much for taking time to reach out! 🥰
I’m confused. On the row where you do the corners, I do the 4th corner, and then I do 7sc, but I don’t make it to the first corner and I end up with 5 corners. I think I am doing something wrong but I’m not sure what?
Im going to use this, your star, your moon, and a solid granny square to make mt friend a bag! I was wondering if anybody has done something similar (pairing these with solid granny squares) and if you were able to get the stitched to line up number wise? I can adjust tension for sizing, as long as i can sew them up right😅
@@KristinesDay omg yeah! tht actually does help so much!!! Thank you! I'm so excited to see how the bag turns out! I never use instagram, but when im done with the bag, I might upload on there just so i can give credit! Thank you so much for the tutorials!!!

I enjoyed the sun squares so much I may make a bigger project for myself using them! Thank you again for these tutorials, my friends gonna love her bag!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I have a question for you. I am planning to sell my handmade products in Japan. Can I sell the work I made based on this video in my online store?
Hi, I'm at the step where you start to switch colors. I'm having a hard time getting the back of my square to look as good as the front. Specifically, the blue color crosses over the top of the sun rays and cuts them off. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks!
Try to leave the other yarn that you are not using in the back at all times. Ideally you should be weaving it in the stitches you are doing so it's not visible at the back either :) Hope this helps!
i don’t understand what i’m doing wrong… round 6 never adds up for me, two many stitches all around, even though i follow the instructions, i have all 12 sunbeams… i don’t understand. i do 2dc-c3-2dc-hdc and then 7 single crochets, but after making the corners i still have stitches left?? :( any suggestions?
Hi :) im here from the heart granny square tut and i have a question :D if i go through the back loop when doing round 1 white part will it still work? Bc mine is coming a little messy tysm:D
@@KristinesDay thank you and not messy it comes great but you know when you add the white yarn the red yarn streches and the heart seems spread out :) idk if i explained correctly sorry!

Otherwise I’m not sure if I understood the question correctly 🙈

Ohh maybe

I just looked back on the square I did and realised I had 13 spikes instead of 12 😅
Hi 🥹 How big is the finished project? Id like to know before trying to make it 😅
of course! 😊 10.5x10.5 cm / 4.1x4.1”

A VERY COMPLICATED PATTERN...CRAZY
🤷♀️
I messed up and somehow ended up with 13 rays so I just turned it into a cute coaster
You probably had an extra stitch from the very beginning 🙈 but nice solve! 🙌
What size hook for a worsted weight cotton yarn? I cant use that size yarn.
Google suggests 5.5mm - 6mm. 😊 but check on the yarn packaging as well, it might be giving a suggestion.

It’s the same size of the moon square? ❤
The moon square is a little smaller, so you would have to add an additional round to match with this ☺️
@@KristinesDay thank u so much 😍❤️

It's not as smooth on the back side. You might have some threads hanging out.

hmm, I think you are skipping a DC after 2dc-c3-2dc.
-> 2dc-c3-2dc-DC-hdc-7sc
Bte ur so pretty ^^
Thank you! ❤️
what can i do so the sun and moon are the same size 😔 i tried everything and it's never the same size so i can't crochet them together

🥰
I got mad the second she said we need 11 stitches then it magically changes to 12😂
It ie because chain of 3 counts as the 12th DC. So 1 chain of 3 and 11DC = 12DC
The chains count as a stitch, that’s a standard crochet thing
I don't know why I'm having such a hard time cracking the double stitch
I hope with some practice you will be bale to perfection it at the end 🙏
Amazing 👏 ❤
