I have been donating to various causes for years and I found that if you are asking for a large amount, such as $5,000 to supply water filters for a village, a donor might not believe $40 or $50 will be utilized until the full amount is realized. When possible, it’s much better to break down the benefit to the smallest denominator. Such as $40 = 1 water filter for 1 family. Make it affordable for a donor, with a higher likelihood that there will be an immediate impact.

Gosh these videos are wonderful. Great tips and reminders for me to stay zoned in on. The last 2 hit me. I have fundraised in the past in the exact way I will be doing again. But I feel I lost all previous donors by not thanking them as much as they deserved / keeping in touch.

I'm so glad it helps! Fundraising is HAAAARD, but it doesn't have to be impossible / scary as many think it is.

My biggest fundraising challenge is to Learn video editing in order to make appealing videos to reach more auditors who will participate in my crowdfunding based company.

Hi Amber I'm a non-profit owner North Olympic Sports Association for a yearly fall fun run race North Olympic Peninsula Turkey Trot and I'm looking to get grants to invest and upgrade my equipment as I want to be a race director and do things in house so I will be able to contribute more monies after costs to local charities in my area and eventually add more races and series to my non profit to give the people who live here more choices for races locally without having to travel long distances to others races unless they choose to do so looking for your reply and thanks for your great videos keep up the good work

It feels like i need to spend money to make money.... and by money i mean my own .... to hopefuly oneday not to have to spend my own to grow the charity. thing is if i am doing it all wrong then i should have just donated my own money directly as a tax donation.

That can certainly be true, yes. Definitely talk to others about your cause and see who you can get to pool some initial resources with you!

Carol - I'm working with an organization overseas and it seems if I want something to happen, I have to fund it. Consider forming a group of interested friends. And for some inspiration, read "Do What Matters", by Nicky Mih. Good luck!
