You don't actually need to depressurize the system to change the accumulators. Park the car overnight on a lift then just fill the new accumulators with hydraulic fluid unscrew old ones and screw in the new ones. Turn the steering lock to lock and it should be all set. This is for the main accumulators not the additional heave accumulators which are refillable

If the accumulator is threaded into the "shock housing"....why couldnt you just attatch a hydro line and remote mount the accumulator somewhere that the newer, larger ones will fit. Instead of doing the machining and modifying of the OEM parts

Seems to me McLaren got the suspension idea from Citroën. Even back in the 70's they had powersteering and powerbrakes connected to the hydraulic suspension system, looks incredible similar. Citroën used spheres with hydraulic fluid (LHM) and nitrogen the exact same way, or better said McLaren uses it the exact same way Citroën did. I have a Citroën BX from 1993 that drops dead on the floor, has no steering and no brakes if the hydraulic suspensions fails.

I’ve always wondered if relocating the accumulators by bending a hard line with a banjo bolt would work
Ok so those accumulator are just like a water expansion tank. Why cant they be relocated? I'm not saying it would be easy, but shouldn't you be able to run a steel or copper line with the correct thread connection on both sides. Also would need a tiny bit more fluid to account for the extra line. All this being said. so you can get the upgraded version.
