Mercedes Technician here, if you press the push to start without your foot on the brake, accessory power mode, then hold the shifter down for 5 seconds it will shift into neutral. I had to do this a lot when the GT models first came out. Hope you see this and remember it for the future (fingers crossed you won't ever need to) Mike!
Did some digging about a tow mode for the AMG, found this: "In the case of power failure, the transmission selector lever can be manually unlocked to tow the vehicle. Depending on production date, your vehicle is equipped with cup holders in either the center console or in the center armrest. Open the storage compartment on the center console. Take out the cup holder. Hold the cover at a 45 degree angle. Insert a suitable object like a pin through the hole and press the pin downward. Remove pin.The selector lever is locked again when moving it to position P." Hope it helps

You’re not alone Mike 😂 I bought a 2016 Merc AMG GTS, drove it for 16 hours before having a check engine light and tcu fault. Had the transmission rebuilt, taken two months. Hopefully getting the car back on Tuesday. I feel your pain brother 😂 hasn’t got a built engine line yours, but the downpipes, blow off valve and sound track make it all worth it 🙏🏼 Hope to see this beast back on the road soon!

I this is the only product I’ve ever bought that a TH-camr pushed and I really like it. I don’t throw my phone but I’ve dropped it several times and it’s always ok . Only thing is if you want to use wireless charging you gotta take out the center part which is part of the magnet.
Yeah honestly i can confirm everything they said. I have a Rokform case and I have not broken a phone since. (I drop it alot aswell and even likes to throw it to demonstrate ^^)
You can manually override the electrically locked P without starting the car to go into N. I remember a few ways I’ve used on various models in the past by either: 1. Quickly tapping/shifting into N twice with the brake pedal down -or- 2. Shifting and holding down into N for 5 seconds -or- 3. Putting the bladed key insert into a slot somewhere in the center armrest/compartment (this might be for BMW but can’t remember at the moment l). I think the different methods depend on where the gear selector is (steering column or center) and/or if there’s an armrest/compartment. Should then go into Neutral while activating the Parking Brake.

By the shifter on the center console there should be a card holder, pull the cover oout there should be a red strap emergency release to put it in neutral

Modified cars generally break. The Standard Car is Generally designed with 25-30% extra in Mind, for Longterm Reliability! Also Any SuperCar is highly Strung and Fragile, then Adding more Power just means you should have Deep Wallet just in Case!😂😂
Hey Mike, I had the same issue with my amg. So the exhaust valves has these actuators that need to spin 180 degrees each way and hit the sensors when u start the car. If the valves are shot, these actuators won’t actually do that so that’s why the car is in a “limp mode” where after 4000rpm you won’t have any boost. Most people replace the valves but they’ll go after a month or so from how loud the car pops because of the downpipes. You just need to get these valve adapters. They’re not the plug in ones they are physical plates that trick the actuators then you will not have the boost problem anymore. The adapters will also hold the valves open fully all the time.
DDE makes me feel glad to drive an old 2002 Tacoma 4×4 with just a few mods for off-roading. I don't think that I'd ever want an exotic with all of the issues that they have had.

@DailyDrivenExotics Since you guys have dealt with this before....why not install some sort of plate/anchor point onto the ground? Somewhere so you can strap the vehicle down which will hold it in place and then the tow truck can drive forward and it will be pulled off the flatbed. Could be a very cheap and easy fix to deal with this problem.

Mike/Tim, next time you have to have a non running car towed that is locked up like this spray either PB blaster or dawn dish soap and the car will slide off the bed under the control of the winch. Have had to do it plenty of times in my tenure as a tow truck driver

As a person who has the product, i'd say no. years of dropping my phone in my old case, no issues then in the first week of using the rokform case dropped it once, and got a crack that slowly spread across the screen but I do like the magnetic feature and the phone stand/finger/grip holder

Plot-twist - this was planned, they knew the engine would destroy the trans and they could easily juice another 2-3 videos out of the build project.

For the maverick you need a rear mount from an electric focus and then a traction bar. Definitely helps eliminate wheel hop.

As a person who has the product, i'd say no. years of dropping my phone in my old case, no issues then in the first week of using the rokform case dropped it once, and got a crack that slowly spread across the screen but I do like the magnetic feature and the phone stand/finger/grip holder
