Yeah but when is it gonna stop when you're thinking about it like that? Picture yourself buying the exact same weapon a murderer would to commit such crimes. Do you wanna be the next mass murderer? I mean the chance of having an encounter with someone like that is generally small and what are the odds you'd be carrying something like that around at the right place and the right time? Are you just planning on walking around with that all the time? While there are people with malicious intent, there's already a lot more crazy people out there than full fledged mass murderers alone, and while I'm not trying to justify their actions who says that they don't feel like they're the same sort of hero in their story just like how you'd describe yourself. And I get that the possibility of someone else having a gun is threatening and I'll have to give it to you that thankfully I come from a country where we have no gun control but honestly I think it would be better if things like this were not to happen in the first place. If necessary I'm all for engaging in hand to hand combat and unless we're talking about war resorting to any use of weapons seems cowardly to me. It would save a lot of lives and even offer a chance for people to still make something out of their lives if they'd get knocked out instead of having their life be taken away at the glimpse of an eye, and that goes for both parties. Breaking down further, there are more children that die from the barbaric practice of circumcision than people being killed by madmen with an AR15. But no one cares do they? The media doesn't show you where most of the violence is because they only care when upper class white kids are shot at... at a school with the security of a single sheet of paper..... while the IRS buildings are protected by guys with submachine guns.

a gun saved my mothers life during a home invasion.By a man with a gun who shot her as she stepped outside. luckily she got back in and locked the door. and called 911. but unfortunately it took them 10 minutes or more to get there, by that time he had already entered the home. at that point she had to defend her self. if she had been a anti gun fanatic i would have lost my mother 13 years ago and her grandson would have never known her. so next time educate. knowledge makes a firearm a wonderful thing
