And this time we will go way back to the legendary GTA: San Andreas!
Lamar and Franklin were young homies when the "San Andreas" saga takes off... in a time when pixels were the size of a box, this game would become the game of a generation and pave the way for the famous GTA:V.
Slink and Shawn will go to the roots and give us insight into the "hood", drugs, guns and the Po-po... as we follow CJ, Sweet, Big Smoke and Ryder get caught up in the war between Grove and Ballas while the map turns red.
And watch Tenpenny make life hell for CJ.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is a 2004 action-adventure game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It is the seventh title in the Grand Theft Auto series, and the follow-up to the 2002 game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. It was released in October 2004 for PlayStation 2, and in June 2005 for Microsoft Windows and Xbox. The game is set within an open world environment that players can explore and interact with at their leisure. The story follows former gangster Carl "CJ" Johnson, who returns home after the death of his mother and is drawn back into his former gang and a life of crime while clashing with corrupt authorities, rival criminal syndicates, and other enemies. Carl's journey takes him across the fictional U.S. state of San Andreas, which is heavily based on California and Nevada.

@idkAlan Thank you for this! This makes a lot of sense and is essentially what I figured happened. Emotions aside its always fucked when people get fucked out of contracts and sucks even more bc they didn't know enough about the game at the time. Thats where the gratitude should/would (imo) come in (from both sides) but a company is a company. I hope he finds solstice in the fact that he MADE the game. He probably has learned from it and his experiences shouldn't just be written off as playing victim tho.

hey man, the 90s happened. every night we'd turn the news on and wait for the daily body count. and half of em were less than 14 years old. accidental ricochets at best and wanton negligence just to get one guy at worst. it's actually frightening how accurate the game is. obviously minus the tanks and jetpacks.

I love that not only have these two VAs played San Andreas before, they're talking about how it was when they lived that life, too. With all the memes about San Andreas over the years and how long it's been since I played it, I forget that the game is often said to be very accurate in portraying gang life in the time and place it's set in.

Solo was beefing with ice cube around the time cube was beefing with cypress hill. Solo knocked out ice cube and stole his westside connection chain and his watch. Even in the game the song “you know how we do it” has a dis to solo listen closely to it cube says “cam and solo they got nuts”

If you're talking about The Introduction, that was made AFTER the game was finished. Also, when you found out who were the killers that killed your mother using the Green Sabre but only acknowledged Big Smoke and no mention of, IDK, YOUR CHILDHOOD FRIEND?

Now, it was "allegedly said" that MC Eiht left early on the production stage of GTA SA. Either it was because of the previously stated poorly paying management, bad treatments, or perhaps other reasons. That's why *Spoiler alert for a 15 YEAR OLD GAME* Ryder's approach in joining the Ballas was a bit abrupt and improvised.

Hearing Solo’s stories about having the barrel of a gun put in and lamar and Him breaking out about their when they were gang-banging when they were younger was really interesting and to hear from them and to see that they came from that life style

Right? That story of the cops fucking with him and sticking a gun in his mouth was crazy. Then they throw him out knowing he's in rival territory. That's some real evil shit.
Didn't grow up in as rough a neighborhood as them. But we had a few murders and drive by happen nearby. Lot of other crap and some corrupt cops too. Looking back it was just "normal" for us.
I remember one time my friend and I were playing madden and then we heard gunshots go off the next block over. Shut the lights off in my room and we got below the window. We just kept playing with only the TV on while laying on the floor. After we finally heard the sirens and saw that the cops were there we went and got taco bell at like 1 in the morning lol. Took em like 45 mins to get there cause we got a couple games in waiting for them.
Yeah that’s how it is but it ain’t all bad, believe it or not there’s more good times than bad, but you do gotta prepare for bad shit to happen unless you stay inside all the time, In that case you’ll be fine.

I love that this time around the voice actors can get more attention and essentially work to get paid. Yeah, I'm sure GTA V paid actors more than ever especially compared to the older days. But seeing them do funny videos, get involved with memes and do interviews... it's just dope.

I just remembered a few other people I would like to thank specifically; Commander Cody, Ahsoka who was one of the best things that happened to Anakin, my trusty lightsaber that went through battles, duels and everything along side me, the holonet for allowing me to be here typing this now, the Jedi Order because without it I would be nothing, and last but not least, I would like to thank all the people out in the galaxy that actually took time out of their day to read this. I cannot stress how much of a big deal to me this is. I have been trying to be the first on a post for years, but that has not been possible until this amazing day. GTA SA is one of my favorite games too. More than that, it has a lot of things that GTA V just doesn't. And that includes working out and eating, and doing side missions, like catching criminals, putting out fires, ambulance driving, trucking. Man, if San Andreas got a true remastering or even a remake that KEEPS its features, and only adds, I'd be happy and have a little more hope for the games industry.
These 2 are chill as hell. Sounds like they've got some life experience too. Hope to see more of them.
Both of them are former gang bangers and drug dealers and If i remember correctly at one point during recording of their lines they told rockstar that the lines they were given sound nothing like how actual gang bangers talked. To which rockstar responded by allowing them to ad lib their lines more to get a more authentic feel.
