    secret lens to own for the p67 is the 135mm macro. You can get headshots close to the way the rz can. Unbelievable affordable, like 50 bucks maybe? Worth a shot.

    • @randallstewart175
      @randallstewart175 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't know about a 135mm for $50, but it definitely is one of the least expensive lenses for the P67 system. With its close focus capacity, light weight, and a relative focal length of about 70mm in 35mm format terms, it is the perfect "walking around" lens. Here in the "West", we have a lot of abandoned homesteads out on the high deserts. I like to shoot them with emphasis on small details, like weathered wood, broken windows, rusty latches and such. The 135mm is my "go to" lens for these efforts, either hand-held or with a monopod.

    I have both the Mamiya RZ67ii & the Pentax 67, both are superb tools, i know the Pentax is the 120 camera that everyone wants and drools over but if I'm really honest with myself i think that i actually enjoy the Mamiya even more than the Pentax !
    Both offer lots of quality image wise but there's something about composing in the large waist level viewfinder of the Mamiya that is so satisfying ( I also adore the Mamiya 110mm & 65mm L-A lens), i must try to get a waist level finder for my Pentax but they do seem to be very hard to find now !
    Great video.

    I have used the Pentax 67 for decades, mainly doing outdoor and landscape work. Relatively speaking, it is much easier to move around with than the RZ. However the Pentax presents serious limitations where flash lighting is required. The slow speed limit for flash sych makes balancing daylight and flash nearly impossible. Pentax has a leaf shutter lens for such needs, but it is a slow working hassle to use - not practical for a large quantity of work.

    I keep vacillating on buying a Pentax 67. On the one hand, I currently have way more cameras than I have the time to shoot. On the other hand, whether it's cars, cameras, watches, or whatever, each category has an item that is so solid, so legendary, and in such demand that it is difficult to find one (in good mechanical and cosmetic condition). Whenever I've been in the mood to buy one, I can't find a Pentax 67 (not the 6x7) that is in good cosmetic and mechanical condition.
    The Pentax 67 is just that good.

      I was in Japan recently and was looking in the camera shops to see what I could find. 67's were nowhere to be seen! I did find quite a lot of Mamiya 6s and 7s though. Clearly very popular at the moment!

      @@radicaleyemag I had a Mamiya RB67, however, for my type of shooting the RB67 is just too slow and cumbersome. I like the Mamiya 6 however, it's a dead system AND it's a little plasticky and long in the tooth to mess with a camera that has bellows.

    Loved the video. You've definitely convinced me of some of the differences/advantages of the 67 over the RB/RZ system. I really enjoyed your detailed explanation of the photographic experience of shooting with this camera. I would love to see more in-depth explorations like this in other review type videos from all creators. All that being said, the cheap clickbait was disappointing. Clickbait that bad keeps this platform from reaching its full potential and brings down the youtube community as a whole. I think the video could've been fully successful without it.

  • @CaravanCamera
    @CaravanCamera 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The biggest downside to the Pentax 67 series is the extremely low sync speed of 1/30 (unless you use specific lenses with an internal leaf shutter). It can be quite limiting.
