From a SA rugby fan's perspective I would like to compliment you on your excellent show and the knowledge of the game you share with your followers. What impresses me is your impartiality and your objective view that your show brings to rugby fans all over the world. Keep up the great work you are doing and thank you for sharing your valued insight on the game of rugby. Best regards, Nick Janse van Rensburg Springbok supporter.
@nickjansevanrensburg4459 Nick thank you so much for this comment, I truly appreciate it. I get things wrong often, but I am just a rugby fan who loves the game and that comes first and foremost for me. I am not a pundit, nor want to be. I have learned a lot about the Springboks thanks to all of their great fans on here, and I appreciate all of the support. Keep enjoying the great game.
I think this Scottish team ranks up there with the best the Scots have ever produced, and they played their hearts out, for a misfiring Bok team to keep their tryline unbreached, and put 4 past the Scots defenses, shows the calibre of the team, win ugly if you must, but a win it is, and lessons have been learnt 🏆
Scotland performed better than the score reflected. Having said that, I think that South Africa got the score they got because they know how to fight and don't quit. They take chances and calculated risks because they have faith each player will do what they are supposed to do.
"Scotland performed better than the score reflected" is not valid. The Springboks scored four tries, Scotland none! Russel is an excellent kicker, and Scotland has benefitted from Sprinbok's mistakes. Scotland's score flatters us!
@johanbuitendag3952 interesting comment here. I am seeing from many SAFFA supporters this type of belief that the Springboks should play 80mins of impeccable mistake free rugby. It just wont happen, and thats when other teams score points, tries, or penalties. Yes Scotland never got across the try line, due to brilliant Boks defense but I think one needs to be careful having an expectation that a team, Boks, AB´s , Ireland, can play a flawless game. But hey, thats just my opinion, I thank you for yours.
@insiderugbywithmark I agree with you Mark but the Boks were way off the pace. They were not the team we as fans are used to when they run on all cylinders
@@Edgycooit works if the team and their organizers implement those expectations in their standards. NZ rugby in the last 4 years have been way too focused on everything but rugby
S African Bok supporter. Well we're back to number 1 in world rankings after a grinding game. From what I have seen from other videos the Irish kept comments going about being no 1, who cares, Boks are the world champions still. My opinion, way too many mistakes by Boks in first half with few scrums for the Boks. Scotland played extremely well, terrific atmosphere at stadium and as always magnificent national anthem. While the scoreline does not reflect what happened on the field, the number of tries scored is important. The last 10 minutes of the game is what was important as well, the Boks then turned it on. Willie le Roux's kick to Mapimpi was masterclass. One cannot win forever, but we are enjoying the ride, put on the green and gold jersey with the Bok emblem and represent this country you must be world class.
Thanks for the great analysis. Despite the official rankings, Scotland is a top 5 side. A 17-point win at Murrayfield. 4 tries to nil. At least 10 players started, who typically don't start or play regularly. First game on tour. Let's keep perspective.
Great show mark. Imagine 2 old geezers, one Scot and Safa with a single malt watching rugby in the Highlands of Scotland. Both happy. Rugby is our bond.

I think it’s important to acknowledge that there is such thing as a superior style of play . Superior, in that it is predictable and always generates points . scrum, maul based, territory dominant style of play has proven to be the most reliable method to win . The boks have it but what makes them the best is sheer physical size . there is no way around it . Northern hemisphere teams acknowledge this style of play but they are simply not large as the springbok specimens . great video mark. We both share a certain intensity /anger/fascination for rugby ! I’m happy to hear from someone like this
I agree with you about Hendrickse. He was caught many times behind the pack, and he is super slow. In fact, he's knock ons ans poor play was costing SA big time!
I know the boys will be settled and matchfit the next time they run out. Couple of changes and all the frailty the team showed this weekend will be mended England should not expect a similar performance from the Boks Kwagga belongs on the bench his impact in the second half is unmatched especially if you compare his starting performance vs his super sub performance
I would like to comment on the All Blacks who I believe is in a growing phase with Scott Robinson and great to see them slowly getting back to their best. I see them as a real force to be reckoned with come world cup 2027 if Razor get his combinations sorted out and create more depth especially in the tight five. As South Africans we have a huge admiration for the quality of the All Blacks rugby team and the all round game they are capable of producing.

4:28 Spot on Mike, this is what I have been arguing with some of my fellow SA's. Mapimpi is a true 11 IMO. I prefer my 11 is be an elite finisher to be Fast and clinical. I prefer my 14 to be rest of the type of winger like a Cheslin Kolbe, Tuisova like winger. I cant currently think of more wingers who I THINK ARE BOTH 11 AND 14 MAYBE MARK TEILER OR ARENSDE MAYBE
@wam9289 thanks for sharing this, interesting read. Teleá is better as 14 when he stays in his outside lane and is giving good attacking ball, when he snakes and darts he is average. When talking 11´s for me Frances Louis Bielle Biarrey is one of the best in the world, explosive, fast and he knows where the try line is, every part Mapimpis equal if not slightly better in my opinion.
Great analysis Mark, Jaden definitely had an off day, I honestly think it's time for both the Sharks and the boks need to start with Williams. The game from the boks was average with to many errors, that will change though however come England going back to a 6 - 2 split. Scotland is definitely a better team than their ranking.
@robcrocker348 Rob I think looking forward to 2027 Grant Williams will be the man for SA at 9. I think Rassie will end up there with him and we will see more of him in 2025.

The nucleus squad did it's bit under pressure and the nuke squad finished the job. As scrappy as it was we'll take the win given how good the Scots have become 🏈💪
Scotland imo have shown the blueprint in how to play the Boks. They didn't get the rub of the green, but the only way to beat us at present is to run and go through many phases.
Hendrickse got beaten up by the Scot forwards with both legal and illegal play in the rucks. The Scots couldnt win a straight match against the Boks and targeted the breakdown and Hendrickse heavily to kill it off and create scrappy play so they could benefit off loose ball and disrupt the Bok attack. This was the reason for the well deserved red card and the handbags by Etzebeth and Marx. By the time Williams came on the forwards were exhausted and not contesting the breakdown so he looked better.
You are correct Mark the score did not reflect the Scots performance, they were very dedicated. If the Boks were playing the All Blacks, they would have lost.
The Bok line out really struggled again, and the breakdown was a mess, just like the AB/Ireland game. Those are definitely the "work ons" for the Boks ahead of England.

@@tobysmeiman6921 I don't think Kwagga is a failure as a starter rather than being selected out of position at no. 8 is a bigger issue. @tobysmeiman6921Willie was brilliant, and I should had made more reference to that in the video. Scotlands backline is awesome, and if their forwards can go to another level for the full 80mins they will be tough to beat. As you know, I do not go down the ref rabbit hole on this channel BUT you raise a great point about the constant rule changes, it doesnt help them.
Unfortunately for Scotland, this is not soccer. You can play entertaining game all you like but if you don't take your chances forget it. Yes the Boks had too many handling errors & gave away penalties but they scored 4 tries to nil. They fail to score a try in 180 minutes they played against us.

South Africa is now a predictable team to watch. Australia, New Zealand and Ireland have better running with the ball back lines who look to score tries.
In the rugby championship, South africa had the most tries, the most clean breaks and by far the most meters gained. So stats would disagree with that sentiment.
@@Tomk79rhby Good point. Based on those statistics. South Africa at home should have scored more points from tries against a poor rebuilding All Blacks team and should beaten Argentina twice. Reply
How many tries did Australia and New Zealand s score against the Springboks? SCOTLAND scored 0 tries in the last 2 games against Springboks. So they score more tries than the Bokke?
Only thing that is predictable when S.A. plays is the fact that we are going to win. Because we are the champions my friend! And thats all that matters.

Springboks played 🤮. From a Springbok supporter
The Boks cld play or not play good according you critics the Bokke knw how to win
Thanks for that
South Africa is now a predictable team to watch. Australia, New Zealand and Ireland have better running with the ball back lines who look to score tries.
In the rugby championship, South africa had the most tries, the most clean breaks and by far the most meters gained. So stats would disagree with that sentiment.
That's rubbish.....the teams, the bench splits, the game plan changes from game to game
@@Tomk79rhby Good point. Based on those statistics. South Africa at home should have scored more points from tries against a poor rebuilding All Blacks team and should beaten Argentina twice.

Scots had 14 players after 10 minutes playing against 16 (referee was a scandal Red Cards ♦️) 😮
I'm South African and I agree. We also don't want to see these stupid cards
