Don't you need to really know French? I do Spanish currently in high school and so do most of my friends so it's like... French is a beautiful language and all its just that more ppl do Spanish and it basically useless in Montreal.

Great question, so I was part of FLC program (but not ones programs) and I thought it was pretty beneficial. It gives you tips on how to survive your first year and it also gives you free food sometimes. Its a great way to meet more people in your program and get to know more upper year students. I also managed to keep up with school while serving as the first year representative of my college and an intern for RCSA. So I think if you manage your time well you can keep up with both extracurricular activities and school (but you might have to give up your social life😂😂). Great question, so me and Kenny are staying at New college and Fed is from St. Mikes college and we all met during the first few weeks of school. How much harder is it for international students to get accepted into UofT? I do the IB but I don't know if the course will give me a better chance into getting accepted
I am not quite sure if being an international student puts you in a disadvantage in selection process. I would guess it's the same amount of difficulty for both international and domestic students to get accepted and as far as I know IB definitely helps you when you are studying because you can get a transfer credit and you will already know some of the materials you will learn in university. I don't know if doing an IB will improve your chances of getting accepted but as I said it really helps when you are actually studying at the university. Not sure) You pay local fees if you’re an Ontario resident not sure about other provinces. But I believe you will be eligible for OSAP. Not 100% sure either. Just like you I started looking at different options ever since I got into high school, and I can tell you that it will all make sense one day. For acting I would suggest that you look into Department of English and Drama - University of Toronto Missisauga, Department of Arts, Culture and Media - University of Toronto Scarborough and Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance (Undergraduate) - University of Toronto St. George. @@lanax9300 hey I'm a uoft grad, and as much as i love uoft and hate saying this, you absolutely don't want to go to uoft if you want to be an actor or anything in the theater department. Uoft is not a good school for such proffessions, Ryerson and York really specialize in this and have an amazing conservatory for acting, it's much more competitive but just as much better.

I'm a year 11 student in IB and I would like to study mathematics at UofT, Waterloo, or UofA. would an IB score of 40/45 be enough if I don't have any experiences in competitions or an outstanding extracurricular (I'm a International student)

Great question, so its possible for someone to switch into another program and its also possible for them to take other courses that are not part of their current program. However some courses you might want to take might give "priority enrollment" to students who are actually in the program so keep in mind of that (At least for Rotman there are certain courses that are restricted to other students). I know a friend who was in Rotman but planned on switching into CS, and he was able to take all the CS courses he wanted. Since this is going to be my first year will it still be okay if I want to pick these courses? Since I can switch/choose my PoST in second year? Thanks!
@@BronzeCheng Great question, so as I mentioned above it's possible for someone to switch into another program and its also possible for them to take other courses that are not part of their current program. However some courses you might want to take might give "priority enrollment" to students who are actually in the program so keep in mind of that (At least for Rotman there are certain courses that are restricted to other students). Make sure to check if the program you want to switch into has any prerequisites. I hope this helped and If you have any further questions please let me know.
