    Cool video. I like Looker Studio but have an annoying problem with Google Sheets. Why can't I upload Excel files (which automatically convert to Google Sheets with that option in Settings) to the folder where my Google Sheets reside without any changes to the report? People at Google recommend making changes directly in the Google Sheets, but this is not convenient when a report is based on several of these sheets. I thought it would be so easy to just replace the Google Sheets and reconnect, but no, it is not that simple. Any recommendations?

    Hey JJ, thank you for the explanation. It was quite easy to understand. I am having trouble with a Google Sheet with several worksheets and formula behind it. The worksheets header does not start from 1st row of the sheet. The header of one table starts from 4th row and after 9th row there is some text and then another table and its respective header. Both tables are in same sheet. Similar tables in other worksheets as well. All the cells have different formula behind it. How can I import import such sheets in Looker studio along with its formula. Could you please help me?
    Thank you.

    • @Vision-Labs
      @Vision-Labs  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use a range import and use something like
      C4:H
      which will start at C4 and take the range to H
      But if you have text and formatting below that it might not work.
      Let me know if that works!

    Hey! Can you create a video where you show. How to take google sheets and send it looker studio and recreate the type of visual presentation you are showcasing in your cheatsheets. A step by step tutorial. Just something simple so the workflow becomes clear.

    Great Video, thank you so much. My question is, I'm creating a report for each grade level. I want the same information and just change the filter to change grade levels. what I am doing re connecting the same google sheet data for each page. Then I have to Drag and drop the fields to recreate my table and charts. Am I missing something? Each page needs a new set of data? Thank you so much..

    • @Vision-Labs
      @Vision-Labs  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would try to put all the information into a single sheet and use filters and parameters to limit by grade or instructor etc.

    Hey! Great video. I am having toubles adding data from my Sheets, since those have the data transposed, and have not found the way to make Looker Studio to take them. Any suggestions? 😅

    • @Vision-Labs
      @Vision-Labs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey!
      What I would suggest is that you use functions in Sheets to transpose that data back in a new tab.
      Then connect that to looker studio.
      Best of luck!

      @@Vision-Labs but this one is a sheet that is continuously updated, any pther ideas on how to do this? Or in how to solve it on the Looker Studio side?

    • @Vision-Labs
      @Vision-Labs  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@valeria-flexfire honestly, there are a lot of options & possibilities
      You could Import Range into another sheet & Trasnpose table in a different tab.
      Or use the Query= function
      Its hard to say without seeing things.

    I am trying to create a searchable company directory. I tried different controls but can't figure out how to allow the user to search without case sensitivity. Any suggestions?

    • @Vision-Labs
      @Vision-Labs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Brittani!
      The easiest way is to lower case the search field ust for that chart
      So you can use lower(YOURFIELD) which will lowercase the directory search :)
      Hope that helps!

    Hey thanks for the video, I have created a dynamic database in google sheet, which everyday user input data to it. It also contain formula that I used to give label each row. Can I connect a dynamic and formula contained google sheet to looker studio?

    • @Vision-Labs
      @Vision-Labs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can. Shouldn't be any problems referencing a sheet containing formulas.

    Hi JJ! maybe you can help me with this situation. I have problems with the data sources. I have a report for company A that pulls data from their Analytics account and a googlesheet for company-A. Today, I have "made a copy" this report (using that feature) to make a similar for company B but with the data of company B (of course ;) using a different analytics and a different googlesheet. The problem that I have now is that the report A is using the data sources of company B. Have you had this problem? How do I "unlink" this situation so they are independent regarless of the changes I do in each of them? Or how should I do this duplication process correctly? I hope my explanation was clear. thanks in advance!

    • @Vision-Labs
      @Vision-Labs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most likely you have a problem of the data source in Looker Studio being linked to the wrong sheet once you made a copy.
      Simply go into Looker Studio > Manage Data Sources > Edit connection & make sure you have the data connected to the correct sheet.
      Best of luck!

      The issue is that when I update it to correct it, then it also updates it in the other report and I don't want that to happen.@@Vision-Labs

    • @Vision-Labs
      @Vision-Labs  ปีที่แล้ว

      You will need to "duplicate" the Looker Studio data source as well @@milimann2739

      appreciate your help. The problem was that all the data sources were set are "reusable" and you can't undo that setting unfortunately. I had to add the sources as new @@Vision-Labs

      A good resource for making data sets is actualy chat gpt. You can give it columns and rows to build tables for you.
