Finally great video to the topic! small tip: using quotation mark with true/false makes STRING out of it, so dropping them will help Looker Studio to parse it as Boolean :)
Hi, do you know how to make blended data work with separate filters? E.G. Chart for Page path x Total Users blended with a chart for Event Name x Total Users. Both Event Name and Page path charts are controlled by separate filters...
Super helpful videos, thank you! Was wondering if you know of a way to do a blend to calculate the difference between two scorecards when one scorecard is within the button control field grouped filter and the other isn't. In this case both scorecards are for the same metric, just illustrating the difference between non-filtered and filtered metric. (ie; (Active Users in USA)/(Active users) = some%)
Hey Brian! I don’t think that will be possible. Buttons apply to the visual not the underlying function There might be some way to hack it using parameters but I’m not 100% sure
Hi, there are a way to block in date selector control a period that end user can not put ? like i like thar my user don't set date select more then a month ago.
Unfortunately not with the default selector. You can use a normal selector and predefined date ranges, but that might cause other problems down the line. In short, yes, but not easily & would require some complex summaries & such.
Technically it is possible to write things back into bigquery from looker studio, but I would not advise it as the end users usually don't know what they are doing. What is your usecase? - JJ
@@Vision-Labs It's for a project and from what I understand I have to create a Cloud Function in LookerStudio that changes data from "true" to "false" in BigQuery when a button is pressed. Do you have any idea how to do this? Thanks for the reply!
I have made buttons for filtering, but facing difficulty while making custom bookmarks for button filters. If you have done it before, please let me know how to do it.
@@Vision-Labs There is an option in report setting for custom bookmark link, that helps the viewer to save the filtered report as bookmark. It seems to work on dropdown and other kinds of filters, but not working on button filter.
what version of looker studio you are using? because i don't have this publish button that you have on the top right or the draft version with the yellow circle on the top left
How do I set a boolean value to a date? Or better question is, how to I create a button that automatically sorts the date to a specific range? Ie. "Last Year" "This Year" and "All Time"

Hey there!
You should theoretically be able to group everything together in LookerStudio to do this.
It will depend on the underlying data set.
i want date clear date range control when click on button in looker studio.
Sounds like a fun challenge!

@@Vision-Labs sure, i got work around, put a rectangle layers up to hide selector, then in selector i put last 7 days, but is fixed....
Is it possible to change a variable from true to false in the BigQuery table by pressing a button in LookerStudio?

To add this, Go into File & Publish settings.
Then turn on publish versions!
Best of luck
