My pleasure! I plan to create more videos like this, since I know what it's like working as a PM, and I wanted to also share many of the same struggles that I'm experiencing. Hope this encourages and inspires you to not give up, and that you can persevere through any of the challenges you're experiencing!
Love your content! I have worked for years to become a PM, now that I have been doing it fully for the past year going 2. I find myself hating most of it. Pretty frustrating but no matter what strategies I implement I come back to just walking away.
I definitely struggle with the SME one... even if they join the call, they'll sit muted and only chime in when asked, never helping to lead problem solving. I also find a project sponsor who doesn't understand the product we are building is the most challenging. Nice relatable video!
So rightly pointed . I struggle with the urgency of a deliverable which is not as important when you have burned the midnight oil and eating lunch at your desk!
There is a common theme where the position is heavily dependent on borrowing the time of other team members which can create conflict, because to them I am delaying their commitments so I can fulfill my commitment, while offering nothing in return for them.
Absolutely, I've worked with several Project Managers who were able to land Project Manager roles after graduating college. What I recommend is applying to entry level PM roles after you graduate, and describe your PM experience from college and the internships you had
