I will give it less than five years, it will go extinct again in America. It cannot compete with the reliability of the Toyota Tacoma or Nissan Frontier.
I'm pretty sure they will sell when it first comes out but it's not going to last Ford quality is not up to par with Toyota and Nissan trucks and yes Ford trucks are the number one seller but it's the F1 50s and up
On the towing, I bought mine in December in Georgia, & immediately hooked up about 7k lbs of towed weight, a few hundred lbs in the bed, more cargo in the back seat, and me the wife and two dogs, & drove 2300 miles over 3 days. Got 15 mpg, & had NO trouble towing, even with it being my first time actually towing on-road. I was out-running other cars going uphill on the interstate. It’s a beast.
A manual transmission and manual T-case and I may be interested, the junk they're building now makes me far less interested. I could care less that it has 4+ 4WD modes, I only need 2WD/4WD and extremely rarely 4Lo, never understood what was so damn hard about pulling a lever to engage and disengage 4WD, pretty damn simple system, worked very time.
@I know you are right, And I just got owned but: unless it was a 97 or older. They had the OHV 4.0 and those are bullet proof. Not great on gas mileage though.. oh well
I own a 2009 ford ranger owner and I will be sticking with the ford ranger forever. Most reliable truck period. Looks like ford made the new ranger reliable and sturdy.
Tacoma killer? C'mon lads! The Ranger will sell well, but when reliability comes into play Ford cannot compete with Toyota, especially when Ford is using a Turbo with known issues around 100k. The Tacoma isn't perfect by any means, but it will be on the road 10 years longer and still going vs this Ranger 20 years from now.
@@jasonlarsen3515 that's what he heard someone say when he was at the auto parts store getting some sweet chrome hood vent stickers to give his car more power.
It's been interesting reading all the comments. Different drivers have different needs in a truck. If you need a daily driver with occasional hauling or towing a boat or camper, any of these trucks (even the Ridgeline) will do. I rented a Colorado for an 800 mile roundtrip this past weekend. It was all highway miles, but my next truck will be my daily driver and will be used for occasional trips. The Colorado did well. We averaged just under 24 mpg and the truck was comfortable enough. The V6 had sufficient power and the truck handled curvy mountain roads nicely. I look forward to driving the Ranger. If I was going to do a lot of off-roading, I'd probably go with a Tacoma TRD Pro or the Colorado ZR2. But, that's not me. I'll be towing my camper and driving down forest roads to go fly fishing. The Colorado or Tacoma TRD would work just fine. I'll reserve judgement on the Ranger until I drive one. Nice to have all these choices, though.
I agree. Technically speaking, any of these trucks will be more than adequate for most people's needs. In the grand scheme of things, trucks, and cars, have come such a long way in development that it would be difficult for anyone to says that any particular modern truck absolutely 'sucks balls' and 'can't do shit' if they're really honest with themselves. At this point it really just boils down to one's preference in styling, branding, and whatever premonitions they have about reliability and value.
@@ronsoyka2555 I owned a first generation Ridgeline. It had a towing capacity of 5000 lbs. Not sure if that changed with the newer model. The Ridgeline wasn't bad for day to day stuff, and the ride around town and on trips was great. I even took it on a couple of hunting trips and it did fine on back country roads. (I'd never take one on any serious off roading and certainly wouldn't use one for any kind of a work truck) But, the mpg was awful. A Silverado got the same mpg. I wouldn't buy another one simply because there are better options now available.
@@alantaylor6595 I dont disbelieve you, but when they came out and I saw them at the auto show, they were spec'ing at 3500. I've never heard of any uni-body vehicle rated at 5000 lbs for towing. And that had the 3.5l, correct? Well the biggest drawback for me was the driving position. I am 6'5" and I have to try on cars like shoes. I couldnt see myself driving one of those at all. Even worse than the Taco. I dot suppose you ever tried to tow anything over 4,000# with did you? I opted for a used Sport-trac with a v-8. Bettter traction capabilities and 6800lbs in the tow rating. With a cat-back and cold air, I got 23mpg at 55 mph when temp over 60.

You know it’s growing on me but I still say you might as well go full size/power F-150 if you getting this close in size. Going to keep my 2011 until it doesn’t go down the road anymore!
thats because the full size is a monopoly these days they made the price go up on the mid size to make people think well for that price I'll just get the full size which is exactly what happened everyone says well i'll just buy the f150 for a few thousand more even tho they don't need a full size. the people is what made the prices go up so blame it on them not the company's thats how the world goes around these days company's brain washing the people with a monopoly. a 4x4 4 door ranger with stx package is 34k

dvddmc it’s actually 6-8k cheaper than a similar f150 MSRP. Yes the f150 has deals because the platform has been out since 2014? This is new. Give it about 8 months.
Same thing when I bought my 2008 Toyota Tundra, prices between the Tundra and Tacoma was a $2k difference, I bought the Tundra for $2k more I got a V8 larger truck and far more room and comfort on long trips.
Yep. I love my F-150. But I also live in the arctic tundra of Wyoming. It's a few inches too long for my garage, and I don't ever use it to it's full potential. I could easily live with a small truck. The only reason I have it is for the 4x4. But, 1/2 ton pickups where I live is like Subarus in Portland. Everyone drives them. It's the default vehicle of Wyoming.
WOW...... that off road course really challenged the vehicles capabilities and enable the guys to really showcase what it can do. My grandmother's Prius could have handled that course.
I can't help to notice how everyone keeps saying this is a new ranger. Its not. It was sold for years overseas, but not in america. To keep it from cutting into f150 sales they stripped it off all the good packages and stuck us with a discontinued mazda gas engine and an automatic transmission.
Besides being powerful and smooth, what sets the Ranger apart from the competition (in the case of the Chevy and GMC) is the technology that is available. The Ford offers blind spot assist, lane keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control as an option. Not all of those are even offered on the top of the line Canyon Denali. Now I want to see this truck on the IKE Gauntlet!!!
Technology will never replace someone who is driving carefully and intelligently. This crap just adds to the cost of the car, increase the likelihood of expensive repairs, and lets the driver think they are more invincible and will have to think less while driving. There are enough brainless drivers out there and we don't need to develop more reasons to shut off the brain and get back to my Instagram post while driving. Safe driving is all about the driver, what you are doing and what you are being as you whiz down the road. Sorry Tracy, I'll feel safer in a 69 VW Bus with an intelligent driver than an overpriced, techno whiz Ranger with a brainless twit behind the wheel.
The trail control in the ford works alot better then Toyota's for the newbies that need it.when I offroad my 2019 fx4 ranger I am in full control dont need no computers to help me.
The Tacoma is overbuilt underneath, real strong. How do others compare to Tacomas build quality?? The zr2 has the rear shock hanging way low, and Ford??
Depends on the buyer mostly. They'll see what features are there and the MPG, Towing and engine power numbers all before they really get into the whole of the truck. The ZR2 shocks have Chevy HD shock mounts on them; the only real problem that is around are the airbags deploying when off-road. But the Tacoma brakes have just been recalled I think, either it caused accidents or they recalled 44,000 of em.
@@Squishysforbreakfast good to know about the brakes. I'll call the dealer. My Tacoma is great. Perfect for my uses. Home depot runs etc. And the best part, in 20 years I'll still be driving it. My wife Siena van is 15 yo and going strong.

I think it looks like the round body ford f150 around the 1997 and up time frame. Which is hideous and absolutely no character lines. And atleast the tacoma has a very reliable v6.
I live in Michigan (suburban kinda area) and I’ve seen a couple ranger raptors roll through town, they usually test drive cars in groups of three. Rest assured it’s coming.
He's got you there, my 1996 2.3 ranger blew it's head gasket at 110000 miles! My 88 Tacoma didn't didn't get an oil change for 10,000 miles until she hit 240,000 and never had a single thing on her break!
Brake controller? I always control the brakes with my foot 🦶 I think a lot of us are becoming spoiled when it comes to trucks. I mean complaining that there’s no tailgate dampener?? C’mon!!!
Vince Clark if you are hauling 7500 pounds and your truck only weighs 5000 pounds have a controller to control the trailer brakes is smart cause that truck isn’t gonna stop that 7500 pounds you are towing all by themselves
When your talking a top of the line trim level, then yeah, there is reason to complain, if you got the rubber floor and vinyl seats, then no. But paying 40k for that truck, even fully loaded, is just over priced.
most boats and campers don't have trailer brakes, if your buying a midsize truck your not towing much more than a 15-18 ft boat , which usually are single axle trailers, if you can afford a 18-25 boat with dual axles your not buy a little ranger, everyone complaining about a built in brake controller this is meant to tow big trailers get a full size truck. most people are not towing 7500lbs, think about it people
chachifeere anytime you pull more than 1500 lbs, you should be using trailer brakes. It would be nice for Ford to offer an integrated module, like they said.

@@wvusmc The old ranger was plain, simple, and compact. The European ranger is nothing like that, and since they don't offer the diesel versions, the manual gearboxes, nor the single cab, I would definitely say the "new" ranger is boring and overrated. kirk189 The exterior styling is rather dull. The interior is very nice. Why not have a long bed with the crew cab? Toyota does, GM does, I think even Nissan does. The stubby bed is a big compromise. As is the extended cab if you have older children.
YES!! I have been saying this from the beginning! It is very boring. If it had been frontier priced $15k-$25k it’d be perfect but $33k-$40k it’s dull and boring and below average
The T6 Ranger was not developed in Europe it was Designed and Engineered in Australia and has been produced in Thailand since 2011, it has had 2 face-lifts since then, but is essentially the same truck from 2011, with the latest Raptor version on our roads now.
Really guys? There are aftermarket brake controllers on the market by Tekonsha and Hayes that are plug and play installations available already for this truck. Just because it's not factory installed doesn't mean you can't tow more than 1500 pounds.
They killed all the options that are available overseas and limited it to the outdated mazda 2.3. There were two diesel options that I can think of off the top of my head.
Why is that strange? A 3.3 V6 will have the exact same amount of horsepower as the ecoboost but about 40lbs less torque. Also the ecoboost reaches peak torque much earlier than an na v6. Thats like asking why didnt the mustang come with a 3.5 ecoboost. Its too close to a 5.0 even though they make their power differently. They do it in the F150 but they detune the 5.0 so the 3.5 is ahead however theyre still very close in performance. But they can do that with an F150 because its sales number are so high. What the ranger needs is the 2.7 ecoboost and some sort of diesel.
@@sergeysmelnik It's strange not to offer a naturally aspirated option because plenty of customers (like me) are not going to even consider buying anything with a turbo, especially in a truck.
Is it possible for any manufacturer to make a simple basic 4X4 without all the tech BS that NOBODY needs with a bed that can actually be used???? The first one to do that modern day will sell every one.
I didn't feel like waiting forever for this new Ranger to show up where I'm at; and having owned a Ranger (2007) in the past, as well as an F-150 (2006); I didn't want yet another F-150, so I went through some CL ads and picked up a '98 Ranger XLT Supercab with a 3.0 and a manual transmission with 4WD. Currently cleaning it up, and getting the 3.0 running better (previously had a high idle, now has a wonky cam synch that will be pulled soon.) A lot of work for a 21 year old truck but I don't need a car payment and for the cost of these new Ranger trucks, unless you don't need the full-size, the cost of an F-150 is a slightly better value.
This is a starting point for modifications. If you want a real off-road truck you'll buy this and then expect to upgrade the suspension, protection, tires, and lighting. Just like you'll do when you get that Taco. Or even the new Jeep truck.
Seems like a Ridgeline, Colorado Z71, Tacoma Off Road, Nissan Frontier, and Ranger comparison is in store. Maybe wait on the Gladiator Sport (Rubicon advantage off road is huge). It seems the Ranger refinement isn’t great but maybe not all Truck buyers want the Colorado ride.

I kind of like this ranger it looks really nice and simple, not too big and has good gas mileage. Will try itbout in a couple years when i feel like changing
I find so many Ford's in the local pick and pull. All good bodies and blown out engines. Every other type of makeer/ model of vehicles is often torn bodies and perfect engines.
Not bad Ford. Still like the Tacoma the best but I believe this is better than Colorado. The looks of the Ranger have grown on me, only flaw for me is the front end. Looks dated.
It looks dated because it is. I live in southern Arizona, and I've seen several Ford Rangers that people drive over from Mexico the past couple of years. Ford claims the U.S. version is spec'd out differently though.

Even that little blip of them being side by side in this video, that Taco looked waaaaay more "refined" and just better. I totally agree. I want one in Cavalry Blue....
I have owned an 08 ranger loved it, loved the look of it. Then I had a 2016 Tacoma sport in orange that truck was an awesome truck looked amazing was a workhorse when I needed it. Now I have a 2018 f-150 XLT sport cause I just needed more truck for work and so far so good love the truck love the look of it. Was pumped to hear about the ranger again and I'm sure it'll be a workhorse like it always has been but looks wise that shit is boring it looks like an f150 from 2000. Kinda disappointed about that.
For the negligible cost of adding a brake controller its money well spent. The more brakes you have the better off you will be in less than ideal stopping conditions...err people pulling out in front of you every chance they get type conditions.
Most people have no idea LOL, they just hookup get in and drive and when things go wrong they're ready to sue everyone and everything they can instead of kicking themselves in the ass for their lack of common sense and driving skills...in order to tow a trailer a driver should have to take courses to do so and given the larger number of incidents involving trailers I think it needs implemented into the driving skills test.
Why does Ford like aluminum engines? Iron blocks last forever and are very durable, over heat that engine once and it's warped or hit 120K+ and it's dead. Nice truck but, go back to iron blocks and a manual transmission! What's a stripped down 2 door 4x4 cost with a manual trans....that;s what most pickup guys want....
That's because the best ford truck is a new ford truck, lease it for 2-3 years and just trade it in for a new one. That's how they became the best selling trucks in the world.
You summed it up in the first line, iron blocks last forever...that's why they don't use them, they want you back on the lot in a couple years overpaying for yet another piece of shit vehicle that'll warp, twist, melt, and fail.
HueTubeR yeah it’s cheaper to get ahold of a used ford ranger without a stupid amount of miles on it to actual lower the price, Toyota’s aren’t that great people have just been brainwashed😂
Chris Mangum Sr since when has the Tacoma been known for reliability?????? The 2004-2015 Tacoma was recalled for literally every single part on it. New motors, new frame, new transmission, new suspension. Give it a couple of years. The 16+ Tacoma will start rearing it’s ugly head here soon.
Hi I'm a lover of my toyota but you are pretty ignorant if you think that these aren't real competitors. I would kill for a turbo 4 in my truck who doesn't want the same or more power lower in the rev range with better fuel economy. More competition the better. The yota will still crush this thing in terms of reliability however.
Tacoma for better looking , Tacoma for reliability , Tacoma for aftermarket options , Tacoma for a naturally aspirated v6 managed with a optional manual transmission.
My 2020 Ford Ranger XLT has only 340 miles on odometer, but the transmission is shifting very hard almost all gears; especially from 3rd to 8th when driving under 45 mph

And I took the Hankook ATM tires and got a set of Jeep Gladiator 17” rims and we now have good snow tires on our 2020 Grand Cherokee!!
This engine in the Mustang actually makes 350lb-ft of torque at the same 3000rpm. What gives with that? Less torque and less power from the same engine. I can only assume they detuned it for reliability since this engine will be doing much more strenuous tasks throughout its lifetime.
Ford says the Ranger engine is different for the truck. It uses a different turbocharger and other components to make a little more torque at lower rpm, according to Ford. The engine block, oil pan, and many other components are shared with the Mustang.
Let's see how many miles before headgaskets or a turbo goes?!? Alright if you trade in your car or truck every 3-5 years and 100000- miles. No turbos for this guy!
Still see a ton of Old Rangers on the roads in Southern WV, a lot of these old Rangers are basic regular cab 4 cylinders, but Tacoma guys are like Jeepers, they like what they like, Ford will sale a lot of these. I really only buy rear wheel drive trucks due to their mechanical simplicity and smooth drive. I’ve noticed that the Ranger’s wheelbase is 127” while the Chevy Colorado can be had with a 140.5” wheelbase. The Ranger has a 5ft foot bed while the of Colorado a 6.24” bed. If I was looking to replace my 2006 Dodge Dakota that was replaced with my 2012 Dakota which had a 131.5” wheelbase and 6’ box I’d be interested in the Colorado. With a flip over bed extender at the back of the bed and a few horizontally laid 2x4s placed in the indents above the wheel wells this enables carrying a 4x8’ building sheets.
Tacoma's 3.5 is strait out of heaven. How could a Ford ever compete with the Tacoma's power train and resale value. You have to buy a new Tacoma because the used ones are priced so high that it makes more sense to go new.A 2010 Tacoma is worth about twice as much as a 2010 Ranger on Craigslist.Good luck Ford.

These Rangers are hugely popular in south east Asia; Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and of course Australia. Been around for a while. I give Ford 2 years before they bring the Ranger Raptor over.
The Ranger is so detuned I have figured out that IF we get a Ranger Raptor it's going to have a 2.3 EcoBoost engine, likely in similar tune to the Focus RS variant. They're not going to offer a V6 in the Ranger at least till the first major overhaul in 4 years. While I think a 350 hp Ranger Raptor would be cool, it's going to be a hard sell due to pricing, as it will likely be within $5k of the F150 Raptor, especially if they equip it with some of the same tech (Fox shocks, etc.). Its a shame because a 2.7 EcoBoost Ranger would be perfect but I seriously don't see it happening in any configuration.
@@chrism.728 I know man. One comment on another video I was in said he suspects that Ford is just saying that for now so they won't lose sales on the reguluar ranger, then maybe bring it stateside later. Makes sense, because not bringing it here doesn't make any sense at all.
Toyota has 30 other model configurations available for Tacoma buyers. That helps explain why the Tacoma’s been the best-selling truck in the segment for 10 years and counting.

Those 4x4 modes are gimmicky, give me 4x4 high/low and a locker and that's it.

A manual transmission and manual T-case and I may be interested, the junk they're building now makes me far less interested. After having my Ranger for a week I can say their reviews are spot on for the truck. Love my XLT FX4
Nice to have all these choices, though.
good honest comment not just here to bash and complain
Uh, nah on Ridgeline. Not a truck since it has a unibody and the tow rating is an anemic 3500 lbs.

From the factory it cant tow more then 1500, you have to go buy accessories. There is no reason not to integrate the controller on the vehicle.
It may even be preferable because you get a good proportional brake controller instead of a cheap one that doesn't work as well (*ahem*TUNDRA)
Strange to me that they didn't offer the 3.3 V6 as a base option.
What the ranger needs is the 2.7 ecoboost and some sort of diesel.
and even with the single drivetrain option my new ranger has been outperforming other midsize trucks easily
The more I see the more I'm disappointed, I think the Colorado is still best in class. The fact you can't get a crew cab long bed is a big mistake.
I could not agree more when I buy a truck I want a bed if I put a tool box in a crew cab I wouldnt have any bed I really want ford to have a long bed crew cab and a V6 option then I would consider it right now I have a 2011 chevy silverado but looking to upgrade to a smaller truck and I've always been a GM and ford fan but I think I'm gonna have to lean towards gmc canyon this time sadly I was really hoping for more out of the ranger
I also prioritize the ability to fit a 4x8 ft sheet of drywall in the bed. If I can’t fit it, then the truck is inutile. I’m a do it yourselfer.
We need a Colorado vs Ranger drag race.

Crew cab ext. bed Colorado is my truck! Love it
Nice truck but I think Ford missed an opportunity to really raise the bar in this category.
PistolPete63 they really dropped the ball on this one boys!
I have a tacoma, its my 2nd, thought about getting the colorado, tried it and i hated it, didnt feel like a truck to me. So i went for another tacoma and im very happy i just love my little truck, cheaper on gas then a tundra and f150, and allot easier to drive around town and in the tight woods sections.
Great review as always--- you guys have a merry Christmas
I think I'll stick with my 87 ranger it's a 2 door and it has a 5 speed what more can you ask for..
Not bad Ford. Still like the Tacoma the best but I believe this is better than Colorado. The looks of the Ranger have grown on me, only flaw for me is the front end. Looks dated.
Colorado has a front locker, and a raptor like package available.
Guys Who Do Stuff ranger has a raptor edition. That will be available soon
I agree. Eveything seems good but the front design already looks dated...
It looks dated because it is. I live in southern Arizona, and I've seen several Ford Rangers that people drive over from Mexico the past couple of years. Ford claims the U.S. version is spec'd out differently though.
New channel name "THE FORD LANE TRUCK" no surprise being owned by motorford
I designed a bunch of the headlight assembly machines. Nice to see them in the truck!
This is a grocery getter that has a 4 wheel drive package suitable for snowy days on a hard surface road. I'm a ford fanboy but they phoned this one in. I'm waiting to be underwhelmed by the Bronco.
The 4-Door Bronco that looks like a Ranger SUV
I, too, am waiting to be disappointed by the new Bronco. Ford will be too scared to do anything aggressive and it'll be just another mall crawler.
Lee Woiteshek it’s going to be a sad day when the bronco reviews come out... I can see it now. Car manufacturers need to get back to basics..
Tacoma is just a better looking truck!
Tacoma is just plain ugly
That grill is just fuggly
But that Ranger Raptor tho....when it arrives ? ...!!
this Ranger has potential tho w/aftermarket eventually
The Tacoma looks aggressive, can’t beat it
@ lol you just said you aren't familiar with it.
I'd take a Tacoma over the new ranger any day. The look of the ranger disappoints me.
Even that little blip of them being side by side in this video, that Taco looked waaaaay more "refined" and just better. I totally agree. I want one in Cavalry Blue....
@@atr6930man, I want one in either calvary blue or cement. I've been saving for one, they are pretty darn expensive.
it' s very sad and plain looking
I have owned an 08 ranger loved it, loved the look of it. Then I had a 2016 Tacoma sport in orange that truck was an awesome truck looked amazing was a workhorse when I needed it. Now I have a 2018 f-150 XLT sport cause I just needed more truck for work and so far so good love the truck love the look of it. Was pumped to hear about the ranger again and I'm sure it'll be a workhorse like it always has been but looks wise that shit is boring it looks like an f150 from 2000. Kinda disappointed about that.
The sound and gas MPG's of the Tacoma make me GaG
Michigan is 2000# without brake controller. However, most trailer dealerships will install an integrated brake system for cheap if you buy an RV.
For the negligible cost of adding a brake controller its money well spent. The more brakes you have the better off you will be in less than ideal stopping conditions...err people pulling out in front of you every chance they get type conditions.
@@wildbill23c not to mention that if your trailer starts swaying, grab the brakes on the trailer and accelerate the tow vehicle.
Yes im going to go hard core low range wheeling and use the cruise control
@@wildbill23c weight, cut weight down dont overheat your engine should be fine, simple
My 2.3 07 ranger has iron block
Fords have been using the aluminum block since the 1940s, nothing new there.
I just can't get past the front end. Looks dated.
I think it looks good, but does remind me of the Fusions grill
yep, reminds me of a ridgeline.
Yes very generic looking truck
Looks like a car. The grill needs to be taller.
extremely dated. and plain as hell
Until this thing can beat Toyota reliability and resale value, a “Tacoma killer” it is not.
HueTubeR yeah it’s cheaper to get ahold of a used ford ranger without a stupid amount of miles on it to actual lower the price, Toyota’s aren’t that great people have just been brainwashed😂
This is a great truck for my aunt Sondra. She is 75
The only thing this will kill is your bankbook!
Isn't what makes the Tacoma so prized is the reliability? So this cant be a "killer" until its tested for many years.
Chris Mangum Sr since when has the Tacoma been known for reliability?????? The 2004-2015 Tacoma was recalled for literally every single part on it.
New motors, new frame, new transmission, new suspension.
Give it a couple of years. The 16+ Tacoma will start rearing it’s ugly head here soon.
if it doesn't come with a V6,it will NEVER be better than Tacoma.
The 4 cylinder has more power then the Tacoma V6.
I’ve owned a Toyota and in the mountains this Ranger should eat it up.
Turbo has more low end torque!
Toyota fanboys just can’t seem to keep their emotions in check. 😂
Tacoma for better looking , Tacoma for reliability , Tacoma for aftermarket options , Tacoma for a naturally aspirated v6 managed with a optional manual transmission.
Tacoma for oil consumption, Tacoma for rotted snaped in half frames, Tacoma for rear diff howl, Tacoma for drum brakes in 2018.
My 2020 Ford Ranger XLT has only 340 miles on odometer, but the transmission is shifting very hard almost all gears; especially from 3rd to 8th when driving under 45 mph
I have a 2019 XL FX4 added a bds 2” leveling kit with bds shocks and 265/70r17 Falken at3w’s on ome charcoal 17x8 wheels ! I’m getting 22 mpg here in Wv country roads !! Great truck very comfortable and great power. My only complaint is the backup screen on the XL is a joke!!
I thank the Ford Performance SEMA builds the Base Camp and the D RUNNER will get that tune. Don't think we will be getting the Raptor.
Let's see how many miles before headgaskets or a turbo goes?!? Alright if you trade in your car or truck every 3-5 years and 100000- miles. No turbos for this guy!
@@ferreo1374 looks like your prediction was wrong! Lol
Well guess it’s times to update to a newer truck lol ranger makes as much power as my 4.6 liter v8 😭
Still see a ton of Old Rangers on the roads in Southern WV, a lot of these old Rangers are basic regular cab 4 cylinders, but Tacoma guys are like Jeepers, they like what they like, Ford will sale a lot of these. I’m not gay, father of 4, grand father of 6, asked my wife who she thought was the sexier beast, Nathan or André, she said Nathan, BBB, big bald and beautiful, she said Andre was just a little to James Bondish, you can imagine Nathan arrested for drunken behavior after a Broncos Super Bowl win, Nathan is a man of the people
Great summary Nathan and Roman. I am not a Ford guy but I like the Ranger for price, features, and size. The Ranger is going to sell!
J L the ford 2.3 is better in every measurable category
@@devinbender8428Gas mileage is better on the Ford. What else?
@@jl4091 270 hp at 5500rpm and 310 ft-lb of torque at 3000 rpm for the Ranger.
Whereas the Tacoma V6 has 278 hp at 6000 rpm and 265 ft-lb of torque at 4600rpm.
Tacoma tows up to 6800lbs.
Ranger tows 7500lbs.
And then there's the MPG.
I'd say the Ranger is the better of the two.
LMAO the 3.5 in the new Tacoma is a pile of shit with the torque in the wrong places. Have to drive it like a damn Civic to get any power out of it. They should have stuck with the much better 4.0.
@@devinbender8428 Just do a little research and you will be amazed. That 2.3L turbo has had a lot of issues. This Ranger is not that new actually. No car is perfect but the V6 in the Taco will last longer.
Tacoma still owns this mid size class.
Its ok man America called there taking back the midsize truck segment and rightfully so the ranger and colorado are giving the taco a run for its money in every way shape and form better towing payload mpg off road capability more comfortable seating arrangement reliability
Oh and they are both more affordable plus no drums in the back😂
MotorcycleMan mine was not built in mexica.
@@TandTWilderness good to hear but if you bought it new 70% of your money went back to the Japanese economy so congrats on sending your money elsewhere besides the country you live in
Southerngunner 87,,,Toyota DID own the mid size class until the Colorado came along in 2015. It beats the Toyota on every level
I'm a Tacoma man all the way BUT I have to admit Ford did a really nice job on this truck. I LOVE that you can get a vinyl floor. I think this will take the number 2 spot from Chevy and GM. Maybe Americans have learned and we can all stop buying the junk known as GMC. I am sorry we have decided to ly off 14,000 people before the holidays and your one of them. Merry Christmas!! We have an e4mployee discount available for non-employees. BUT unlike the employee we're not going to fire you after you buy the truck.
This truck will eclipse both the others in sales.
Is it going to pass them this year or next?
And why is it going to pass them?
Look forward to a real world comparison between the Ranger, Tacoma, Colorado, and Frontier.
Will never love anything more than my 2010 Tacoma TRD Offroad.
Why does Andre always look scared to death when driving offroad
I predict that we'll be getting a Ranger Raptor within the next 5 years. Probably when Ford either updates or redesigns the Ranger platform.
Eric Fortune Jr. update coming at or around 2022 totally agree
Eric Fortune Jr. within the year I predict, based on sales..
I love the older Tacoma's but the newer one's are junk. Glad to see competition and the ranger looks promising!!!
Someone in the know like I am. I'm glad you said it, because it's true. They are! I see DOZENS on the lot and they're not moving!
Every dakota generation had an available V8, from 1986 to 2012.
Ranger...Raptor.....must have it me precious!!
navy Guy 3.0 V6 EcoBoost would be perfect.
Why do Aussies get to have all the fun? Ford please bring the Ranger Raptor to the States.
@@chrism.728 I know man. One comment on another video I was in said he suspects that Ford is just saying that for now so they won't lose sales on the reguluar ranger, then maybe bring it stateside later. Makes sense, because not bringing it here doesn't make any sense at all.
Suckers be linen up lmao
Love the new Ranger!
How's the visibility out of the front windshield? Taller guys have to duck down in the Tacoma to see out of the front. Is the Ranger better?
Toyota has 30 other model configurations available for Tacoma buyers. That helps explain why the Tacoma’s been the best-selling truck in the segment for 10 years and counting.
I still cant believe that they wont have a raptor version in the North American market. That would truly be a tacoma killer! It would be the truck of choice for a lot of people into overlanding.
