    Good video and interesting comparisons. However I did go back and watch the other two videos in the series and will note the following: the heavier tire/rim/foam combo did best in every episode. The lightest combos did the worst. Ergo, on your ramp, with that vehicle, weight = traction. Others have said that you need to control for weight by using the same foams and rims on all the tires, and from a strictly scientific perspective that is true. But as you have probably noted, rock crawling is not a science, and there are many other factors, besides grip, that affect real world performance. Any of these tires, on the right truck, with the right setup, can perform well. There is no one-size fits all solution. While this is an interesting shootout of the tire sets you have in your arsenal (I love your ramp by the way), no one test can tell us which tire is best for all trucks in all situations. Having said all that, very entertaining video. Keep up the great work.

    I waited over a month for my J concepts Raptures. I almost cancelled my back order & yesterday they came. So I guess I better get another set before the are out of stock again! Worth the wait though I have a set on a new Capra & there amazing.

    The ramp sections are are too short strictly speaking, but I love the look of the ramp. But note the obvious here: if the front wheels are on 47 and the rear wheels are on 40 then you’re gonna be sitting at about 43 or 44 degrees.

    To bad j concepts can’t make tires , 4 months of no stock anyplace is ridiculous

    Each set of tires should have the same weighted wheels to be the most comparable. This video the heaviest set won.

      They need same foams and weight to be a true test and all should be new imo

      Thanks for that insight: really breaks it down to the fundamentals. Still a great test here because we can watch it, we’ve got all the config info, and he’s got the marked ramp… super stuff.

    I like looking at crawler tire comparison but you can't compare tires that as not the same foam and weight. You should use the same foam and beadlock so that the only difference is the weight of the tire.

    The tire comparison is very easy to understand.
    I too think Gmade 1904 is the most awesome.

    seems everyone forgot the black mambas went over the top never slipped 1 time. now heres one for ya ! my savage from 2009 has proline monster x wide pins 140mm round 4 inch wide square pins drive up 18 pitch roof like its nothing the only tire that can out do it is my injora $160 rock buggy wth mud slinger x3 2.2 tires

    I have 1.9 mud slingers on my trx4. They seem to work well on rocks. Any chance of you testing these!👍😁😎

    I think you need to bring back the trusty old redcat gen7 tires. Remember back on the wooden ramp how well they did

    In the market for trx4 foams… should I just bite the bullet and order soft anti foams or get normal dual stages? I like the fine tuning of anti foams while also having almost zero side roll but I’m not sure how much of a difference they’d make vs a proline dual stage

    Just picked up a set of flat irons and I love them. I also have krawlers in predator and they are deadly too. Can’t go wrong with prolines 👌

      The compound is good, but I think the tread design is what really makes them excellent. :}

    Ive had several experiences that confound me when it comes to tires. Broken in canyon trails, trimmed lugs and dual stage foams, and a steel wheel, really seemed to work wonders on a 1.9 wraith. But proline predator swampers ( same wheels and foams) just didn't do the job....on that truck anyway. Put them on a very light scxii based build, and they were excellent. Alot of my tire choice is tuning for the rig.

    • @mnmvuk
      @mnmvuk 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. My cut Canyons with steelies and brass hubs, two stage foams seem to out perform my Hyrax with the same set up.

    I'd recommend cleaning the ramp once in a while to help the tires a bit , cause over time it's ganna get that build up

    • @JoeOvercoat
      @JoeOvercoat 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And I’m wondering if it is the humidity level is what is affecting the ramp from day to day. Or, if temps went specifically went below the dewpoint the previous evening. Also along those lines, whetherweather it’s a clear day or a cloudy day….and previous night, for that matter.

    how do you vent the tires?

  • @adamgriff7286
    @adamgriff7286 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm really sorry dude but it seems to me that you was using the much rougher outer edge of the hill on the tyre's you like. You're literally hanging half of the tyre's off the edge on the rough. That didn't look fair at all dude. You should have stuck to the centre of the hill with all the tyre's. This is the first time I've disagreed with you. They all stopped at roughly the same spot until you went to the right and used the rough edge. I loved the comparison but it didn't seem equal 👊

      @adamgriff7286 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ExocagedRC I understand bud 👍 it just seemed like the last two set's were using the very edge a lot more. I might be way off as I've only watched it once. I'm a Proline fanboy so maybe that's why I saw it the way I did 😂. I didn't mean to sound negative about it as I watch you every day and I don't want to disagree with you. Maybe I should watch it again 🙏 👊

    Pretty interesting results. I like all of the tires in this round. You need to check out the G-Made 1905's. These are a killer tire. I run them currently on my Capra and have been really impressed with them. 👍👍👍

    Funny thing is.. add 200 grams to your rig and it'll change (negatively or positively) how all those tires performed . So the Gmade 'could' work the worst out of them all on a 10lb truck🤷🏽‍♂️

    Much less traction at the joints...might b a good idea to put a thin layer of cement on the entire surface to make the traction even everywhere...great video!
