Analysis of GaleForce Playland's Castaway Cove 2016 Coaster Ocean City, New Jersey

- The latest coaster from S&S is going to Ocean City and will be called GaleForce! It will feature 3 launches, including a backwards launch, and will top out at 125 feet. I'll talk about all this and more in today's Analysis!

Castaway Cove has a very special place in my heart. I go to OCNJ every year and this theme park is so much fun. This coaster looks incredible and I've never rode anything like it, I can't wait. Python wasn't very good at all, it was short and very bumpy.
I'm actually excited to ride this as I live in NJ too! I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm much more excited about this than what Great Adventure is rumored to get :/

I agree with your analysis completely. I love when small parks take some initiative and risk to be competitive in their respective areas. This looks like a very high quality and expensive ride, with a really cool name. Good for them.
I'm glad I rode the Flitzer this year. In fact it was my 300th roller coaster and the last ride I rode on my NJ vacation which included 30 new coasters for me. For personal reasons I'll miss this Flitzer but Gale Force will definitely be an accuse to go back to Jersey.

GaleForce looks AWESOME!!!! But the Flitzer was actually my first Roller Coaster, and Python was my first inversion.
I loved this coaster!
I think this is a much cooler layout than the skyrocket II models. Overall more elements plus that 90+ degree drop looks awesome
I am in NJ, but this park is an hour and a half away, compared to 20 min for Great Adventure.
coney island has a launch coaster too, although it's a pretty tame zamperla it's still pretty fun.
I'm kind of surprised the coaster level actually went from 3 to 5 since they added the SBF Spinning Coaster called Whirlwind, and that other coaster Wild Waves.
If you look on the S&S website, this ride is classified as a launched El Loco. This is the first of it's kind.
I can't wait to ride this I live like 40 minutes away from this house
and great adventure might also get a new coaster! so glad to live in nj! 2016 is gonna be awesome with coasters, and pretty much anything else.
Great adventure, playland, and casino pier are all supposed receive new coasters in 2016. Gale Force for playland, Titan, or total mayhem for GA, and possible a Gale force clone for casino pier, because I'm pretty sure play land, casino, and jenkinsons are all under the same owner ship.

Don't forget their also adding a family coasterd that will wind in and out of GaleForde, probably a custom Zierrer Tivoli. So their coaster count will still be 3.

They are! A 50ft family coaster and another spinning coaster!

So NJ lost 3 Flitzers in the space of about 3 years; this one, Morey's Piers and Point Pleasant. I think the one which was at Morey's found a new home in Ocean City, MD. I don't know where this one and Jenkinson's ended up or if they were scrapped. As far as replacements, this review should be updated to account for Wild Waves, a new intermediate coaster at Castaway which was built around this one. The Runaway Tram replaced the Flitzer at Wildwood and seems like a good family ride. Tidal Wave, a spinning coaster, replaced the Flitzer at Jenkinson's. Overall I think Castaway came out of this shuffle looking the best.
Hey coaster studios, I think a S&S Funtime swing ride would be good in playland. Since you have the connections with them, maybe we can both convince them. I know this most likely wouldn't happen, but it's worth a shot.
I go all the time I love tropical storm and the cyclone and I hated that Python rollercoaster it sucked, but these is really awesome

I work there, and they are adding another coaster, trailer not released, that will go around the Gale Force
The should get a classic steel coaster, no inversions but a bit of speed wrapping around the park. Good for kids, teens, and adults. Also a Funtime swing ride would be perfect in the park, maybe replacing the tidal wave ride the have.
There is also Fred miler's coaster and a spinning coaster
I think six flags great Adventure should get this. It's a great fit and also it's fun.

I think it’s to small and has bad capacity at a huge park like great adventure.
When will Dollywood announce their 2016 coaster
Ocean City is only like 45 minutes from my house but I still haven’t been on it...I’m pretty mad I haven’t been able to get the credit but I know I will get on it before 2018
It seems great, and the park seems a lot better because of it, but they really need to add more coasters. Maybe a small suspended coaster like Iron Dragon, and then a floorless like Dominator. This would be a long time down the line, but only having a kiddie coaster and this(don't get me wrong, this is great) doesn't look that good. I mean, only 2 coasters?

Hm just game back to this. Funny because they are also getting a E+F miller industries coaster like the one that used to be at Casino Pier on top of a fun small spinning coaster. Coaster count 4: And this doesn't even include their neighbors with 2 more coasters. Remove the kiddie coasters, that's still 4 coasters, 1 which is major and two of which are decently intense.
It's still possible that another park might purchase Flitzer.

Have you heard about Six Flag's licensing of the name GaleForce 7? I heard somewhere that S&S are planning on adding two of these in the U.S. in 2016.

IT wasn't a surprise my uncle is helping to build that coaster he is engineer and I get free unlimited tickets whoop whoop and I'm so excited for gale force plus I'll let u all in on secret there will be another new ride as well they kept secret and it will be later in 2016

It would be cool if the can cut up a piece of the boardwalk or make a tunnel that would go through or under the rollercoaster if they have permission to make it go on the beach, and the park

Is Galefore is really replacing Python and Flitzer?
This roller coaster definitely won't affect Jenksions Boardwalk which is geared towards families
I so excited cause the Python and flitzzer sucks but this is a kick butt ride

Magic mountain should get one. but DEFINITRLY NOT a sky rocket two model. The at would get them tow triple launched premere rides coasters that both go backwards. Not than I have anything against.the sky rocket II models.
