Some may disagree, but Vol 2 era is when Jay started to blow up and delivered a few mainstream tracks. ALSO...Missy has a bonus track on Tweets album Big Spender that has a similar feel and to me is one of her best songs. The trombones go hard.
I always dug this classic. Admittedly, he was trying to recreate the magic of Hard Knock Life by repeating the formula of sampling an old musical with kids in it. It was maybe too soon and too obvious, and that's why folks didn't feel it the same. But I still dig it. It's interesting to hear him shouting out people like Dame and Irv who are no longer in his circle. Life is wild.

Never was too big on this song I don't know if it's the beat or what. And as far as Jaguar Wright is concerned she said Jay had Big, Big L and Aaliyah killed yet jumped on stage and did the Blueprint MTV Unplugged performance with him after those deaths. In 2020 she was asked about Jay and she said he was cool and hope he hits her up to do a show for the Blueprint 20th anniversary for that following year. I guess she didn't get that call so now Jay's a monster😂😂

This one is cool, but I'm lukewarm with Jay overall. The Black album, 4:44, and the Blueprint are my favorites. I don't vibe with the rest of his music. My parents had me when they were in their 40's and the youngest out of four. I can't complain. My father died when I was in Iraq.
