Had same issue happen recently. 400V battery depleted, then "electric wrench" light came on. Wife stopped at a drive-thru restaurant and turned off ignition since gas engine was too noisy. Would not restart or shift out of neutral. Pulled up the emergency lever and pushed vehicle into a parking space. 12V battery depleted while running A/C. Jump starting would not work. Had towed to dealership and left overnight. Next morning, dealership was able to jump-start with no issues. Hypothesis is that the 400V battery continued to deplete beyond reserve. Since the 4Xe does not have an alternator, but uses the HV battery to invert the necessary voltage, the vehicle would not recover. On another note, once restarted, the HV battery indicated about 10% charge though fully depleted. The days that followed after picking up from the dealer's shop the HV battery would drop approximately 20% charge within a mile. Now 3 weeks later, everything seems to be fine. Wife has lost confidence in its safety and no longer parks it near our house or plugs it in.
I don't have one of these, i went to replace my 18 JLUR with one, but then found a reddit with a ton of stranded issues reported and stopped the sale. At least in my situation if the pentistar acts up, i can wrench on it in tge trails and get it moving. The 4xe not so much.. but in my search, i had one guy say the remote start fixes it, another said to open the gas cap and release the evap pressure that there's some kind of pressure that builds and caused this, another said you need to add at least 1/2 gallon of fuel.. not sure any of these work, but figured if someone on a trail stuck sees this, maybe one of these will work.
In my case, nothing I could of done. It's still in the shop for over a month now. If I had to do it again, would buy the diesel. I love the torque, but to your point, I can't work on it.
@@faithfilledadventures That 3.0 diesel from what i have heard wasn't ideal either.. well not legally.. heard if you deleted the emissions control stuff it was reliable, but stock those motors were popping.. unfortunately the reliable option isn't the popular option..
MAKE SURE TO SET E BRAKE FIRST!!! in front of your gear shift lever there is a plastic panel you can remove, inside you will find a orange strap, pull that until it clicks, this will put the vehicle in nuetral
Same thing as Lawrence, the first time my 12v battery was the issue, when it happened again this morning I wanted to try to jump start the battery with my portable jumper and it went back to normal. I don’t understand how or why. Took it to auto zone to get tested and the battery and everything was fine. Haven’t had any issues since. Hope this helps anyone
Well almost exactly 1 year later and I had the same thing. Apparently the ECH yet again. Not sure why that keeps the vehicle from starting. Getting pretty frustrated
Did you ever get this issue fixed? I'm having a similar issue. My 12v battery is a part of the problem, but something else is going on as well as I replaced the battery and still having issues.
@@Tequilalover2020 They replaced the ECH again along with the fuse. We will see if it works. Dealership had it since July 10th and I just got it back a week ago

Sorry typo. I was at a red light and my jeep turned off and I was unable to turn it back on, battery was dead and I tried charging it and nothing . had to tow the jeep, I don’t know why there was no charge , bran new jeep .
Sorry to hear that. I really love my Jeep, but this is the second time it has been in the shop for over 30 days. I am still waiting for mine to get fixed.
Hey, dude. This just happened to my 4xe today, 7/20/24. Not that this is a fix. But I tried to start with the remote start on the key fob and it worked. Then when I got to my destination, it started fine with the button. But I'm still taking it in next week. Just curious if you tried remote start. Good luck!
@@faithfilledadventuressorry to hear that. Since yesterday, I've started with the button it 6 times. I still have 2 recall repairs to do. I'm have them look at it when I take it in. Hope you get it resolved soon. Not knowing sucks. Note: When I first had the problem, I tried to clear any codes with the OBD II scanner. Then tried the button - didn't work. Then tried remote start, and it started. All good since. Good luck!
@@1vsme good to know. Mine ended up getting brand new EV battery pack all together. I guess my ac compressor had a n issue that caused the battery to lock up basically. Bizarre but it’s running good now

I know it's pretty frustrating. I have loved the 4xE concept, but I have had to give up on it. Now decision between gas or diesel

I am currently running into the same problem. Is your Jeep get fixed ?
I have same issue, my daughter opened door before jeep stopped. I plugged in and restarted ok. I think it is a safety feature.

Yes. They replaced the ECH And it started working, but I really think they screwed up the update on the recall
This will get as many views as 4xe sold?? Good try though

Mine wouldn't even jump start. Tried that. Dealer said they replaced the ECH and waiting for a fuse.

There’s a shift lock if you takeoff a little piece of trim by the shifter
