    Thanks for the review - next time I’d start with toe box not sufficient and buy another shoe - nothing worse than ruing your feet with small toe box

    I’m a size 5, would you recommend to size fully up to a 6 or half size ?

    • @BobThomasUltra
      @BobThomasUltra  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say definitely go up a half size. If you feel your shoes are usually a bit small, go for a full-size up. If most shoes fit really well then a half-size should be enough.

    great review and love the soundtrack (with the sax).. can you please post the name of the track and artist?

      Glad you liked it! The opening track is called "Never or Right Now" by "ELFL" and the closing track is called "Hurt You Anymore" by "CLINGR" I get all of the music from Epidemic Sound. 😀

    I want to try out the new V3 Cloudventure that was released in August to compare to this shoe to decide which one that I might prefer. If you ever get to try out the Cloudventure, I would like to hear your comparison with the Cloudultra. Thank you for your excellent review.

      Glad you enjoyed it! I am hoping to get my hands on some Cloudventures soon so will definitely make a review and comparison :)

      @@BobThomasUltra That’s great. Thank you.
      I am really enjoying my v2 Cloudstratus. I wear them all the time, running, walking, exercising at the gym.

    very good review. would you recommend these also if I just plan on using them on the street?

    • @BobThomasUltra
      @BobThomasUltra  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. I would not recommend these if you're only going to use them on the road.
      For road running I would go with either the Cloudstratus or the Cloudflow. I have reviews for both on my channel if you are unsure which to buy 😀
      Cloudstratus: th-cam.com/video/95CE3aY5YJw/w-d-xo.html
      Cloudflow: th-cam.com/video/sM6s2awvPLw/w-d-xo.html
      Hope this helps!

      @@BobThomasUltra thank you for the information! I actually meant only for walking because I find running shoes very comfortable.

      for walking I would go with the Cloudflow! Every pair I've had have become my everyday shoe!

    I really liked running in these shoes but after 5 months they broke on the material connection part :(

      Ohh really that’s such a shame! Unfortunately, I found the more I used these shoes the less I liked them! I was really happy in the beginning but now I barely use them at all! Hope you can get in touch with On and sort something out!

    I’ve only recently found your channel and have been loving the content. Im really keen to see the full length video of your drum kit challenge, it’s what I’ve been searching for since watching your training videos!

      Thank you so much! So the drum kit tow video is on the way I'm just incredibly intimidated by the thought of editing it! I'm going to push through and get it out this year though! Thanks for the support!

    hey, would you recommend them for ultralight hiking?

    • @BobThomasUltra
      @BobThomasUltra  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have done some hiking in these shoes. They work alright for hiking but probably not the best option out there.
      A pair of Inov8s are probably quite good for light hiking as they’re less restricting and would work well with the change of stride which comes with hiking rather than running

    I think it's a shame that I bend inwards too much with the Cloudultra, why On doesn't even make a shoe for overpronators

    • @BobThomasUltra
      @BobThomasUltra  ปีที่แล้ว

      I hadn’t really given that much thought. I guess they mainly make neutral support shoes. The Cloudflyer I believe takes over pronation into consideration

    Hi Bob. Nice review. But, and it's a huge but.- my pair is unusable here in the wet Irish climate. I wanted to love them, as the fit is exquisite, but the lack of grip is actually dangerous. They are lethal on mossy wet rock and even wet tarmac. Did you not experience any if this?

    • @BobThomasUltra
      @BobThomasUltra  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Brian, sorry to hear that. That’s strange, I’ve actually found the grip outstanding on these shoes. I’ve got many different pairs of trail shoes and these give me the most confidence on any terrain. Have you contacted On about it?

    • @kocot.
      @kocot. 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BobThomasUltra Not sure what other shoes are you comparing those with, but just a quick look at the sole makes it rather clear that it's nowhere close to models like Salomon Speedcross or Dynafit Feline in any technical or wet terrain. The back of the shoe is almost flat, with nothing that would help you slown down or descend safely. The front is made of 2 tiny blocks, which are again mild, and with the soft rubber used, both of those parts are basically gone within 50-100km. I definitely agree with @Brian, running on wet in those shoes is like skating, no control whatsoever. They are made for basic, flat, dry paths.

    Bonjour superbe vidéo j’aurais une question à vous poser ?
    Actuellement je cours en Asics trabuco 9 et je pèse 95 kilos je voulais savoir si l’amorti est meilleur que les Trabuco ? Je vous remercie par avance pour votre réponse.

      merci content que la vidéo vous ait plu. Je n'ai pas essayé le trabuco 9 mais le Cloud Ultra a un très bon amorti.
      J'espère que cela vous aidera, excusez-vous d'avoir utilisé Google Traduction !

    Hi how are these shoes for breathability? Do they tend to keep your feet hot/warm or keep you cool?

    • @BobThomasUltra
      @BobThomasUltra  ปีที่แล้ว

      The breathability is pretty good and they keep you quite cool. The upper is very light so that helps them stay cool.

    how about rainy days

    • @BobThomasUltra
      @BobThomasUltra  ปีที่แล้ว

      They drain very quickly and stay lightweight which is great however, The tread really lets you down in the rain. When they're brand new they bind fairly well however the tread does wear quite quickly and it is not aggressive enough to give the traction needed. These are great for fast dry hard packed trails but not so great once you turn onto trickier terrain.
