  • Find your own On Running Cloudultra here: bit.ly/3rAsQZD
    A brand new trail shoe to On Running, the Cloudultra is an ultra cushioned, ultra comfortable, ultra versatile trail running shoe. The Cloudultra can be a perfect option for hard packed trails, technical trails and can even be a good option on a route that may have pavement running. For really muddy or slushy conditions, you may be better off going with a shoe that has a more aggressive outsole.
    The Cloudultra features a closed channel outsole which (for the firs time ever) should do a better job in stopping rocks from getting stuck between the Cloud Pods.

    Excellent review. Thanks! Here in Europe (Munich), On cloud shoes are pretty popular. I have tried several - think the Cloudflow is hands down their best shoe followed by the CloudStratus. The CloudUltra looks intriguing. I may give it a try. While we do have mountains an hour away, Munich is quite flat and trails are mostly groomed around the city.

      Thanks! I LOVE the Cloudflow. Easily one of my favorite shoes. I initially liked the Cloudstratus but I'm not so sure anymore. I grab it less and less it seems. I slightly prefer the Cloudswift over the Cloudstratus.

    Love the release to reduce the tension of the laces, would it if other brands made this, during marathons my feet swell almost a half shoes size

      Who knows, it may be something other brands start incorporating!

    Good looking too and the fact that running shoes are also used to style.

    Thanks for the review. I was thinking of picking up a pair for hiking and on occasion trail running. How resistant were they to water/mud on the trails? Did you find your socks getting wet?

    • @RunningWithDusty
      @RunningWithDusty  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you go through a puddle in these, you'll get wet. They aren't waterproof at all. They have a different trail model, On Cloudventure that is available in waterproof

      @@RunningWithDusty thanks for the info. I will take a look at the cloudventures

      @@RunningWithDusty Just to let you know. I bought these and love them. I even found them to keep my feet dry since the rubber coating around the sides goes high enough to minimize water getting in. They are by no means waterproof but still great for trail hiking even in wet conditions. Thanks again for your review.

    Thanks for the review Dusty. In your opinion, could I use this shoe for primarily road running with a little bit of trails? I'm mostly a short distance runner, usually 5 miles or so.

    • @RunningWithDusty
      @RunningWithDusty  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup, absolutely. I would say half of the running in this shoe have been on pavement getting to the trails and it's been great. Let me know what you think of them!

    Hi! I work in a fast paced clinic where I do a lot of walking and I need a lot of cushioning to support my back - I have spondylosis and spondylolisthesis. Will this shoe be fine to use For this purpose? I have the cloud monster and def struggle to walk in those, I tip forward. How about these?

    Do you think this shoe would be good for softball. Looking for a good alternative to a cleat for wet grass

      Hey, sorry for the late reply. A cleat will perform much better on wet grass than these shoes.

    • @RunningWithDusty
      @RunningWithDusty  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I went true to size but I could have easily gone up half a size. Almost everyone else I know who has this shoe has gone up half a size too. You likely made the right choice!

      @@snowwalker9999 honestly dude I ran half size up for a bit but exchanged it for something true to size. I've found that unless you run 25+ miles you won't really need to go half a size up.

    I'm surprised how people trying to avoid shoes with air pockets/ballons and how to consider this kind of shoe for trail ultrarunning with all these holes.

    • @RunningWithDusty
      @RunningWithDusty  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The holes are on the side of the midsole. It would be extremely hard to get anything stuck in one of those holes. I've been running in Ons for years and have never got anything stuck in the side. On their road shoes I get stuff stuck in the bottom all the time but that issue has been fixed with this shoe

    • @viacheslavkrasin3119
      @viacheslavkrasin3119 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RunningWithDusty Thank you. I'm about to try something new outside my Nike collection. I'm a pretty heavyweight runner with a pretty big size of feet US13. ONs states that clouds might not work well due to the weight. Does the size similar to Nike's size grid?

    • @RunningWithDusty
      @RunningWithDusty  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@viacheslavkrasin3119 I'm not entirely sure if On sizing matches up with Nike. I only have ran in the Nike Vaporflys but I did go true to size. I would make sure the EU sizes match up on both US13 of the On and Nike. I would recommend trying them on in a shop if you can and if not, I believe On has a decent return policy through the website.

      @andreidumitrufocsanu2962 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RunningWithDusty I wouldn't say that On and Nike's sizes are the same, at least in Europe. I have had a couple Nikes in the past and, althoguh I went with my normal size, they tended to be narrow, specially after half an hour of running or even walking longer distances. I now use the Cloudstratus and Cloudflash (old version) and I have absolutely no problem with being narrow at anytime
