I just got the same older model Handy lift as yours for free. They were going to toss it in the scrap bin only because they bought a new unit. It has the vise and the extension side tables, plus 3 piece ramps. I guessing the ramp from your Handy lift would drop right into the China unit... I'll be rebuilding mine this weekend. Have wanted one of these for 30 years :)

Very good eye! I have seen this Tuxedo lift out there before and also thought it was a direct copy of the SAM 1000 that I have. I'm convinced it is a remake of the old, great Handy lift. Handy got it right the first time around. They continue to make them even better yet today and are still built in the USA!!

They cut cost with the bladder and still way over priced USA or not they are way overpriced living on their name. 960 bucks and 120 for the vise, 1080 plus it has the new drop out rear wheel plate, handy, 1600 plus for the handy less vise.

Yeah, not sure about the bladder thing!

I wanted your opinion on if you think the side extensions for the Tuxedo would work on the Handy. I have the new Handy SAM 1200 and the hole locations for the pipes seem to be in the same location as the Tuxedo. The Tuxedo side extensions are half the price of the Handy extensions. Compare the two next time you get a chance and let me know what you think.. Thanks

I dont have Handy sides, or the Tuxedo ones, but let me check the pipe locations when I get back to the shop. As you may know, I'm on the road this week checking out a swap meet. Thank you

OK. I dont have a Handy SAM lift, mine Handy's are both standard. My old Handy does not have reinforced holes for the pipe/side extentions, just holes for the tie downs. My newer Handy has slots for their extensions, and they are located differently. So I cant answer that. I can and will measure the distance between the holes on the Tuxedo if you have a SAM you can compare, but they could still be off some

I have several Handy Way lifts, a gen 2 and Gen3, The 3 has the removable plate, The gen 2 has the lock bar and rollers on the other end like the original Gen 1. I have no doubt Handy industries is subbing out the manufacturing to China. Sad really. I also live in Ormond, I am guessing your across the street from my old buddy Peeen?

I spent a lot of money on a Handy about fifteen years ago. It wasn't worth it. The vice didn't even begin to line-up with the mounting holes. It looked like a child had welded it. Had to modify the lift table to accept it. The lift bed itself sat too high so my Harleys typically would ground-out when rolling on. Maybe needed a much longer ramp. Customer service was zero. Wouldn't buy one again.

Wow, that wasnt my experience at all. Even got parts for the one I pulled out of the scrap yard, then were very good. I wonder what happened there!

The tuxedo is as good as the hardy now with the rear tire drop out plate. Apples to apples your paying a grand more for built in USA plus shipping. can't afford it bought the tuxedo and a US shipping company made money on me.😊

Handy were probably made in China too. Probably from the very place your new one came from. According to American law, if the company is an American company, they can (and do) get their stuff made anywhere in the world and still claim it is 100% USA made!
They don't have to say "China" on it anywhere.
So Handy probably designed their lift and then had it made in China and then were able to double the price because they said "Made in USA" on it.
Don't believe me? Look it up! You've been buying Chinese stuff for years and paying high prices because they said "Made in USA". Probably even pictured an American flag on it! Probably Americans making the money on it but chances are they're just middle men with big bank accounts!

I don't know where you got that, but they cannot relabel as USA Made if not actually made here. They can say designed or assembled here along with where it was made.

@@T0tenkampf As I said, look it up! The American public is easily duped because they are blindly patriotic. Companies pay off the politicians to create loopholes for them and they have been using these loopholes to exploit the buyers for years! Caveat Emptor!
