I simply pulled arm up to wash and the spring popped off. Now it looks like it would be easiest to get a new arm and replace it.

I think there is something broken on the wiper arm, or the spring itself is broken. If it is in good condition, the spring is securely in place. In any case, it is very easy to change the wiper arm, even if there are problems, as in my case.

@@D-Stealth thanks The spring came un sprung I will order another arm . Question , is that plastic cover that covers the bolt simply held on with glue?
