Exactly, Same goes for some parts of cali, they have such nice suburbs and houses there but just a few decades ago you'd get shot for wearing the wrong color there, i think the hood stereotype comes from Chicago Baltimore and some other places

Anyone notice that maplewood neighboring north st paul is actually getting worse? I grew up there as a kid and it fucked me up man. All the schools in that district were completely brutal.
Had been in many fights and got beat up and bullied for no reasons I was aware of.. both in and outside of school, everyone was just mean as fuck. Lots of drug use, vandalizing and burglary. And this was middle school years for me.
After that 1 year of north st paul high school and then my family and I finally got the fuck out because shootings started being a regular thing close the school. Fast forward 10 years now whenever I return to the area I see how much of a slum its became.
Everything looks run down, dirty and overgrown. All the kids I went to school with are into the worst drugs now.. even the few innocent kids that use to be my friends. Some went to jail and had very long sentences whom were just released recently. My best friend still lives there and he said his house was broken into once, his car was robbed and tires were taken. Sad and frustrating seeing your old home turn even worse. Maplehood now. ✌🏽

The coldest winters of the contiguous states, but even though it is cold it actually doesn't snow all that much and there are a lot of sunny days during the winter. If you're not used to bone-chilling cold it will be shocking at first. Because the Twin Cities are so far north it does get dark very early in the dead of winter, which for some people means realizing that they have seasonal affective disorder.

    Maybe you didn't take a stroll down 50 ma'am.

You missed Midway. And like 2-3 weeks ago by Wheelock pkwy E and White Bear Ave same night some crazy lady was shoveling snow into the middle of the street and some dude was hiding behind his van door watching or waiting for something. Oh yeah and then by lake Phalen that night 3 ppl in full on outfits and masks walked onto the ice and disappeared, but that was probably some nerds or something doing cosplay 😂
