    You can make these any color you want as long as there is a 1206 LED (preferably right angle) for needles and PLCC-2 for backlight. Check the links and info in description box. These LED are referred to as various numbers (metric and imperial).

    The ultimate project would be to convert the cluster to a digital one in the future.

    Great work! I wish I had your patience to do all these diy's. Now that I look back I'm glad that Lexus suckered me into buying an extended warranty which covered all the TSIB/TSB that I experienced i.e. dead speedo needles, failed nav screen, failed water pump, rear view mirror spotting, sticky dash, wheel bearing, windshield drip molding cracking, aux port static, cam gear rattle at start up, passenger lumbar adjustment electrical failure, etc.

    I pulled out the needles at 0 mph and 0 rpm and after I fixed the led, I put them back at 0 and everything worked. There wasnt a delay with the needles for me

    Looks great! I wish I have as much patience as you. I will have to hit you up one day to do a spare gauge for me. My is350 is my daily since my is300 is out of commission. I would have to buy a second cluster to mod then have the mileage match mine to do the swap.

    Did you think you're able to do the same for 2014 Lexus IS350 base with a base instrument cluster and clone it to a 2014 fsport instrument cluster? If you can let me know how much to clone the mileage.

      Get the tools and LEDs. You can use any color you want. I want to do the IS-C needles now. They are all clear ones. When I find an IS-C cluster for the low, I'm going to get one.

    Hey bro thank you for the efforts that u do online to explain I've got the needle blinking sometimes so am looking to change it my question is it because of the needle or the led in the motherboard

    On my 07 IS250 the leds went out on the speed and tachometer, I found a guy on Craigslist who replaced both the LEDs with any color you want for $80. I live in California though

    3Q's I see your powering the instrument cluster with a bench adapted PC power supply , Which wires on the IS cluster are used Pos & Neg ( colors ) ? also are you powering with +/- 5vdc for LED's or +/- 12vdc or combination of both voltages ? thanks

    • @TunerwithKids

      Just 12V to the cluster power pins.

    After doing this and putting my needles back, the rpm needle falls like 500rpm below zero. No matter where i set the needle it just goes back to the same spot. Doesnt matter if i do it with the car on or off. If i set it with the car on it will stay correct only until the next time i turn the car off. Any solution? Thanks in advance.

    Hey I did this and messed up a bit with installating the needles again, like my tachometer is way below than it should be, it shows my ideling below 0, any idea how I fix it now? I tried to remove and put them again didn't work out

    • @TunerwithKids
      @TunerwithKids  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to remove and lightly install back and get it back to normal again. It’s gonna be trial and error.

  • @johnroberts5357

    Hey, I removed the needles to get to the board and fix some dead LEDs and replace them. After putting everything back, I set speed to 0 and plugged it back in and all was good and I drove around. But then after turning car off, after a little while the speed and rpm needs seem to drop a tad below 0. RPM is very little bit below 0 but speed is quite a bit below 0. Then when I start up my speed is wrong because 0 is below 0 and hence all the speed reading is wrong. I took apart the lens and moved it back to zero and once again it worked until I turned it off for a while then it goes below 0 again. I thought I'd try moving it to 0 with the car on, so tried that and same thing. Worked until i shutdown and after a while dropped below 0. Have you ever experienced anything like this? Would really appreciate your help. Thanks

    • @TunerwithKids
      @TunerwithKids  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really. I always remove with them at like 30 or 40 mph/rpm and put back in same spot. I never pull them at zero. I may have adjusted gas and temp once or twice to get right. The gauges also self calibrate upon start up, so in theory they should reorient themselves.

      @@TunerwithKids OK Binh 👍 appreciated for your replied and thanks for the video. Keep up the good work but what software did you use for reading those odometer code , I got a newer used car to replace my old one, not pass smog yet. Newer one i believe prior owner changed with a new cluster and the odometer is lower then I saw on carfax witch I checked after I bought it, was about few months no record of it and i want to put last known plus couple thousand miles on to that. Lesson learned, should have left without buying it., now I have 2 to work on instead of one. Dmv probably have last record but they don't tell. And the speed needle not working. I didn't have time to try to learn to fix as I am with prioritized project. Thanks for your help any information appreciated.

    How much for the blue needles cluster

    • @TunerwithKids
      @TunerwithKids  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m probably posting it for $300 shipped on eBay. If they want to return a core, I’d pay $50 for old one if it’s working condition.
