  • As the consequences of Vietnam began to be felt at home, Julia Moore, wife of Ret. Lt. Gen. Hal Moore, pulled a community together and inspired change in the casualty notification process.

Thank you to the Moore family for making such an amazing impact on the US Army, our soldiers and their families.

I thoroughly enjoyed this information, I enjoyed the film as well, both brought home the fact that the wives are an inextricable part of the family unit and the army family. I felt deeply for the Ladies recently touched by THEIR loss and hoped that for them the support that Mrs Moore was ultimately responsible for proved to be effective and as beneficial at a heart breaking time. Nothing will ever replace those that we have lossed as we saw here it is still a very raw part of their lives. I just want to ask God to watch over these broken families help them to gently mend and treasure the memories they shared, and last but most certainly not least give Thanks for the Ultimate sacrifice made by the Men and Women of the armed services because but for them we would not be able to enjoy the freedom that we enjoy today.

Julia Moore stepped up when the Army faltered, she created and coordinated the efforts to notify the spouses of the death notices of their husbands to which has been expended to what it is today . So thank you Julia Moore for being there , for being a leader in time of need and your legacy lives on today , you will not be forgotten .

This touched me. It hits close to home for me because although I’m not married, I’m serving in the Army right now and I’m friends with several spouses and their families and they tell me about the struggles of being married to someone who’s serving; including the feeling of anxiety that they feel during when our troopers are serving honorably overseas. I can only imagine how anxious my parents feel when I’ve been deployed in the past.

Rebecca Gell is a remarkable woman. Gave up her own plot so Julia Moore could be buried with her boys
