My late uncle MSG(Ret) Alexander “Whit” Jones was a paratrooper in the 555th and one of the first group of Black paratroopers to integrate the 82nd Airborne Division.
It would be great if ya had a photo of "WHIT" in his jump gear..... Ask around..ya never Know.... military took many photos.... Ft Benning. Start their... Amen.
When I was in the 1/178th Infantry in the Illinois Army National Guard in Chicago, we used to drive retired members of the 555th(Triple Nickel) in the annual Bud Biliken parade.
