My ex husband and I tried to get pregnant for 10 years. Holy fuck I do NOT miss all of the ovulation tests and meds and shots and ultrasounds and blood draws and deciding e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g is an early pregnancy symptom... GAH.
We got pregnant 7 times but miscarried them all because of an unknown genetic issue I have that wasn't discovered until our last loss :(

Ditto. I gave it considerable thought actually, as a transgender person. Before my starting T and again before my surgeries.I considered even tho I don’t want a kid today will I ever want to have kids? Even when I was a kid myself I thought adoption was a great plan in an overpopulated world, so I decided even if I changed my mind in the future and wanted kids, we Could go the adoption route. But it wasn’t easy coming to that conclusion. Even so... we never changed our minds, we would rather be related to someone who has kids and borrow their kids occasionally to spoil them, (I’m told I’m an excellent uncle) then go home to our cats and dog. So who would think I’d be excited about someone’s baby announcement who isn’t related to me? But...I know how much they wanted this, and how intentional having children can be in queer relationships. I think maybe that’s why it’s doubly exciting. We know they really want this. It’s not like someone’s condom broke and oops should we keep it?

When my husband and I first started dating, I accidentally clicked the wrong area of Craigslist and saw a post looking for a known donor for a lesbian couple. It was like they were describing my husband and the couple reminded me of my mom's cousin and her partner that couldn't afford the standard insemination routes available long ago. Anyhow, he is a known donor to a lovely young lady. Our son and I had a chance to meet her .....and she had his personality and you'd have thought our kids were raised together. Anyhow, I just found your channel but I'm so excited for you both! You'll make amazing parents!

@@juniper3238 It has also been an unforseen gift for both of our families! All of this took place when my husband and I had only been a couple for a few months. Stumbling upon the ad, realizing that what they were looking for in a known donor matched my boyfriend at the time, and remembering the heartache my mom's cousin had while trying to find a known donor that was affordable for her and her partner.....I felt it was a sign and had to at least ask if he'd be willing to give such a precious gift to complete strangers.
Fast forward a couple years into our relationship, while pregnant with our first child, I was t-boned by a semi and haven't been in good enough health to handle a second pregnancy since this accident (16.5 years ago). The two moms have since split up but prior to that we did donate a second time (unsuccessful) and left the option open to both of them even after they separated. We both ended up only being able to conceive one child. While our communication is limited and she lives primarily in Israel, my son and I have met her twice and my husband met her on the second visit. I love that they have the option to have a sibling relationship at any point and in any capacity. Ironically, despite being raised in two separate households and in different parts of the world (her primarily in Israel, he in the SF Bay), they both have the same sense of humor, are wildly creative, and got along as if they'd known one another their whole lives. Both had wanted a sibling so, hopefully, they are able to connect and grow closer once they are older.

I'd say research your disabilities, one of mine(which is actually one of my most dangerous ones) has no known cause and no genetic causes. Ofc not saying you have o be the one to get pregnant if you just don't want to or just don't want to take any risks, but don't let a disability make you go 'nope not getting pregnant' if you are genuinely okay with it other than your disability.

Well, a 16yo me was not ready for a child whatsoever
My mom was also trying very hard and the moment she stopped trying she got pregnant maybe it is easier to get pregnant if you don't focus and stress on it too much you have the best chances. That is my guess but it is not medically based at all only my thoughts.
I got pregnant at 19 even though I had an implant but couldn't keep the baby even though I wanted to (I was very ill)
But now, my fiancé and I have been trying for 2 years with no success...
It's also because the people who get pregnant by accident are usually younger like late teens early 20s, whereas people who feel prepared to have kids are usually older like late 20s early 30s, and unfortunately a lot of time fertility is best when you're younger :(

My mom didn't know she was pregnant with me until she was 5 months along. She had periods up until that stage, and she was used to them being spotty, so it wasn't anything new for her. Lol. Having spotting during a pregnancy is veeeeeery common.

@@mom23js I’m sure you are, but make sure you give the neurotypical siblings lots of extra support too depending on if the older ones are low functioning or not. As a younger sibling who loves my brother with my whole heart and now is his secondary guardian and one of his main caregivers, I’ve seen many low-functioning families fall apart due to the other kids feeling like they don’t get enough attention. Unfortunately, nearly every family we keep in touch with has a child that becomes estranged due to resentment in adulthood. Much love ❤️

@@KpopLover1013 No, dilation is when your cervix opens during birth. One of the hormones your body releases causes your joints and ligaments to loosen up. Your pelvis separates to make room to push a baby out. After you give birth, it needs to tighten back up.

This reminds me of my husband and my journey through infertility. My son will be 34 yo the end of this month and my twin girls turned 31 in November. All IVF. This just back all the emotions. I got pregnant on our 3rd and 4th tries. Being pregnant was one of the best times of my life! Enjoy every moment!

My mom was inseminated for both me and my brother. My dad didn't want biological children (for major health issues), but they both decided to look into other options as my mom felt put on this earth solely to be a mother. This really helps me understand what they went through to put me into this world. I'm so excited for you two!
Oh I actually cried when they got the positive test. A couple years ago I donated my eggs, and watching this made me realise how happy I've made someone who otherwise wouldn't have been able to conceive. Big congratulations you guys

I was so rooting for the 4th try, different donor would work cuz that's exactly how I happened. Three tries with a guy who my mom look liked failed, fourth try with a "perfect match" guy and it stuck first try. I'm so sorry that that didn't work out for y'all but congrats to you two!

@@remmary100 can't miss what you never had! Honestly, I had a really fulfilling childhood. My mom worked full-time but her best friend would watch me after school and stuff. The only time I ever felt different was when my school had "Me and My Guy Night," but that just makes me wish school would consider that lots of people don't have a "guy." I didn't have a brother, or close uncles; two years that afforementioned best friend dressed up as a guy to take me. I think it's more about the quality of parents than the quantity. I would say if she has the support system, absolutely go for it. my mom had me later than 35 so it's definitely not too late either

Around 20 years ago my mom and dad were going through the same thing, IVF is really such a miracle. As a “test tube” baby my self I can say that your child will always appreciate how hard you two fought to have them and will never forget how loved they are.
Congratulations! My friends have been trying for 4 years to have a baby and it’s been heartbreaking watching them feel like they are failing but they finally fell pregnant in September and they’ve said that every negative they’ve had was just them waiting for the baby that was meant to be theirs.
My daughter and her wife got pregnant in August. Their donor is the twin of my daughter too. I saw his toddler picture and it was uncanny. She took on her second try and in less than a week had symptoms of pregnancy. I am so happy for you guys, for all of us really. Congratulations.
