    Great video. Familiar with the creek and lake and always wanted to run that exploration adventure for the same reason. Cool to watch you navigate the unknown of the route and successfully complete.
    Thank-you for sharing !

      Thanks, James! It's such a lovely and under appreciated canoeing area, Jay's been fishing on that creek since he was a boy. It was extra special with the fall colours being so vivid at this time as well. Thanks for watching!

    Totally love the video son ! I adore the way you explain and describe everything going on ! Kudos baby ! It's great the way you advertise for others eg being your food and equipment you use relating where you got it how it's used and the result of using it. So informative ! Great as always my son ! xoxo

    I enjoyed this! I love it when you add the drone footage, it really highlights the beauty of our area & gives perspective on how "alone" you actually are out there! "A bad day camping still beats a good day at work" I totally can see this quote on your future merch!! Maybe a gratitude journal cover or something like that!
    Its a great channel you two have started!

      Thank you, friend!! It is nice to have the option of adding drone footage in order to put the whole area in context - we love having that capability :) You can be our merch manager - that's a great idea!! We so appreciate your encouragement and great feedback

    This looked like a nice little adventure.
    It was a great idea to scout with the drone, and you also get some great footage.
    I love the sheath for the saw 😍.
    Cheers ✌️ from us.

      Thank you, friends! It's nice to be able to have the opportunity to see the trail ahead from high above - something that would seem like science fiction only a few years ago. Thanks for checking it out!

    Great trip and video, fall is a wonderful time to be outdoors! There are great adventures in our own back yards, but sometimes we miss them chasing the proverbial greener grass. You’ve done great job of showcasing what a person can find close to home or in a memory of things you done in the past. I must say that you seem to have mastered an unintentional rain dance though. 😂

      Haha - although a sunny day is easier to travel in, we don't melt with the rain yet ;) Well said with regard to how much gorgeous country is in our backyard, but our penchant for travelling long distances to find other wild spaces! Sometimes a change of scenery is necessary, but for a quick trek into the forest, a 10-minute drive to wilderness can't be beat! Thanks for watching!

      The footage from above on days like this are pretty tough to mess up! You almost can't lose, as long as you don't crash the drone into a tree...Thanks for checking it out, pals. We're literally counting the days to our first canoe trip!

    Beautiful intro, tamarack season is the best! I love trail clearing too it is so rewarding to use the trails you clear yourself. Where I live there are a lot of big wide trails and a lot of pressure for users to "voluntarily" donate to the motorized ohv clubs which officially maintain them (although I seem to do a lot of it myself). I much prefer the user maintained model because the clubs over build the trails and no one is advocating for us non-motorized trail users.

    • @beautyofthebackcountry
      @beautyofthebackcountry  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well said - it also helps to keep the impact on the area minimal if you are only clearing enough for yourself. Thanks so much for watching!

    Fall canoe tripping is great! I usually do a lot of day paddles during the Fall cause depending on how late you go, a cold night could freeze up small lakes which is one reason I often day trip instead. But October is usually fairly safe to go overnight.

    • @beautyofthebackcountry
      @beautyofthebackcountry  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ahhh...great point! It would be pretty risky getting across a big lake one afternoon, only to find in the morning that you're stuck there until spring ice-out!

      @@beautyofthebackcountry yup. A few years back I saw somebody try to do a solo canoe trip in early November in this area and exactly that happened. Not only a snowstorm hit but the lake he was paddling froze over that night. Luckily he was able to back track to a road along the shoreline cutting his trip short but I shook my head thinking; what an idiot! That could have turned out so much worse. But canoeists are a strange breed, and I'm one myself so yup, stuff like that will eventually happen. I just try to remind myself now and then.... hey, that might not work in your favor but the other side of me says; ya, but what's the worse that can happen? LOL!
