The Vijayanagara Empire rose to prominence as a culmination of attempts by the Southern powers to ward off Muslim invasions by the end of the 13th century. At its peak, it subjugated almost all of Southern India's ruling dynasties and pushed the sultans of the Deccan beyond the Tungabhadra-Krishna River doab region, in addition to annexing Gajapati Empire (Odisha) up to the Krishna River, thus becoming a notable power.
The Empire lasted for 300 years.

"great"? what's with that metaphor. Use "cruel" and "ruthless".
You call him 'great' despite his cruelty and the immense suffering he inflicted? Sure, running a kingdom might require tough decisions, but there's a difference between necessary firmness and outright brutality. Glorifying a tyrant who crossed that line is a disgrace to humanity!

Mongols (Duwa Khan of Chaghatai Khanate) attacked India 6 times during the reign of Sultan Alauddin Khalji. Alauudin Khalji defeated all these 6 Mongol invasions. These were large scale invasions between the year 1298 to 1306. In one of these invasions, Mongols employed 200,000 cavalry horsemen. It was more than that Halagu Khan used during his invasion of Baghdad (capital of Abbasid Caliphate) which emloyed 150,000 horsemen.

For example: He killed his brother not because the family was starving, he killed him because the brother took his fish once.
another example - His son-in law was killed in the battle and in retaliation, he killed every man, his army brutally raped every woman in front of their family and then killed, he killed every animal, cattle, horses, dog. cat, etc. He then waited for weeks for the poor people who had somehow managed to fled the onslaught. Once they returned to mourn, he caught them and killed them too.
all this for one fallen relative in a battle. Do you now think that Genghis was a man driven by Justice as Abhijit Chavda makes him out to be ??

@@saumitrad I'm just pointing out most of the rulers of history were like that. It is just always temujin they point out. Why not say the same about the likes Churchill or any other European kings. Although he is just a prime minister Churchill was considered the greatest countryman. Leave those in power they will backpedal.. ask common populace of britain about him.. they take pride in him. That is what irks me.. im not supporting chengiz just pointing out the flaw in accusations. Even alexander is considered as great but who knows whT his soldiers suffered through, he waged war on kingdom without any valid cause and killed millions but he is great. Romans utterly decimated anyone who doesn't bend their knee but they are considered great. Why not the mongol empire .. just view it like yet another ruler having his way with the world. Can you?
