@LordHizen i wonder if you can make builds that can work with all weapons availble to a class, I.E. if the dagger MH on mesmer is good, then how about axe, sword, staff, do these weapons even produce close to dmg numbers and survivability? i dont need dagger, i need answers.

@@pinguinoequatorialeRifle is support weapon, thats nothing special its worse than dagger. You can use rifle but dagger is better, BUT RIFLE IS COOLER!
@@pinguinoequatorialeRifle is completely made for Heal chronomancer, if you don't play it is betteer to use any other weapon.
I'm glad to see this update and I do like the options for more simple builds for trash/easier/event mobs. The other builds are great for solo champs/bountys/hard HP, while some of these are great for more metas style enemys that don't last long. Great work.

Mesmer rifle not doing well in open world isn't a surprise, its a support item and has uses outside of that content, I am sad about ele pistole though.

I've been running relic of the midnight king on untamed too. It always suffered a bit with might and fury generation, but that relic combined with the new maces and untamed's already crazy sustain and defense and easy access to quickness has pushed it to my number one favourite open world build.
I usually run with marksmanship instead of nature magic most of the time. The extra damage and resetting opening strike every time you get fury lets you absolutely mow through mobs and take part in meta events with little to no worry of dying.
One of the reasons i picked nature magic instead of marksman ship is because most of the mobs inflict weakness which is the worst thing for every power build so being able to remove damaging condition and none damaging condition like weakness by dodging is a QoL so u wont feel slow or your burst wasted.
each time i wanna get back into gw2 im watching your videos lol, always a nice place to pick a class to play with....and the GS vindic looks amazing!! tho im wondering how the scepter would feel like as second weapon....and rip ele pistols and damn that rifle mesmer got my dying looked cool tho but UGGGH
Im playing Dh with dual pistols scepter torch and works very nicely focusing on crits, specially since you can combo with traps.
Disappointed about rev scepter, glad to be able to try cele thief axe now that made the armor/axe for it.

Hi after the next recent patch guardian "symbols" will become "well" do u think after that willblender can hav perma quickness if it uses relic of chrono ,without losing dps
While mace mace does less damage on untamed, it is very satisfying to use.
And you have perma quickness just using Enhancing Impact, so you can have Restorative Strikes for super sustain.
Maces are the best thing that this update brought, the rest is garbage ☠️
seeing how mesmer has so many melee weapons that have 1200 range it would have been really funny if rifle was a melee weapon

Offhand sword is really good for power reaper if you pair it with Dagger and Great Sword. I can recommend that a lot!
Yea I can see it being a new staple because of the damage OH sword brings instead of condition stuffs which they don't really need. Also just buttload of Vuln application makes it good for Axe MH too.
As an Ele main I really didnt expect anything, and they delivered in the nothingness classic Arena Net move btw.

Elementalist main here. It baffles me what they did to us, pistol looks ugly on a spell caster, the skills are clunky and useless, and it performs like crap in every build. Thanks A net.
Yes. Pistol sounded great when I heard it! But when I tried it on launch, it was meh af
To me problem is that i love the concept of magical gunslinger but somehow they managed to make it both boring to look at and extremely annoying to play with plus it just feels pointless to use when scepter exists and does the same with 95% less efford and the scepter has way better visuals on top of it all.
Idea level pistol on magic user is great but the execution was like it was made by government bureaucrat.

When I watch this it feels like I can try ranger followed by willbender, engi and thief. It seems like Anet has a lot to balance and rethink.
The Elementalist part is the best part

Daggers: for higher DPS against champs and to stay alive easily
Axe: to burst mobs and veterans faster.
I'm still sad that Necro hasnt done a damn thing with minions since the Rise! skill with Reaper ( don't count Shades since they dont count as minions skill wise). was really hoping swords would do something, even if its just the animation/thematics, but nope.
I hope they release new weapons for each elite spec to make them unique again. Like imagine Shield Reaper and it has summon skills.

There are plenty weapons (and themes) ANET hasn't tapped into across all the classes, and stopping now seems to be more of a logistical issue for them to balance all of the classes than the idea that they proposed (being that they have covered all of the elite spec ideas that tap into unique themes).

Axe Specter benched as high as sceptre for me and feels better to play + has decent cleave, thoughts?
If you can get better numbers on axe play axe it's simple.
There is no point in looking at benchmarks, only at how you can play most effectively or what gives you pleasure.
Everything in GW 2 can be completed with 20k DPS, so minor differences do not change anything in terms of content completion
Your mech build in the description is using fractal relic, but in the video you're using monk, which is the correct one? :O
Both works just fine.
Fractal relic to increase the damage
Monk relic to give more healing to the jade mech if needed
You think Anet will actually ever implement new weapons? I really want a Paragonish 1h spear, and a Dervish Scythe. I think people would be so excited for some new weapons.

Celestial though Ive been running with the other traits similar on me engineer!
Swapped my great sword for 2 swords on reaper, added a never before level of mobility and heal'ishness and that sort of fear hit to replace the pull from great sword on bar breaking. Kinda strange though as now I just pretty much stay in that S/S build till I reap when usually axe/focus and the incidental GS, can't say the 2 sec of nightful is missed! Still favouring ICE with ice relic tied to "Chilled to the bone." more fun that way - bah on maxing DPS although those 5 hits (3.8k average each) from Ice Relic can hit like a truck mobs explode. And that warrior staff is fun fun fun and BM PvP horn replaced by mace... So much to try, to do, to res and res again from.

the thief build is on celestial too, can it be use with power or Condi stats and will it preform the same or better?
Lord Hizen builds are for solo content, of course if you go full viper your DPS will be super, but not good for going alone
imo staff warrior isn't too amazing when it comes to open world pve. Unless you're healing in big meta's.
But it does amazingly well in instanced pve when you're a designated healer.
With Swords on Necro is Power Harb anything now or is it still lacking vs Reaper.
Power harb getting a slight buff as per the March 19 balance preview but idk..

Now there is no point in playing this cm because the Boss has so much HP that doing this mission is torture.
CO CM makes everyone fall asleep and the febe is even more boring
So whats your final take on the Untamed hammers then? If the old cele build has better dps AND better sustain, should i even bother? Is there a trade off or situation where this build would be preferable?

currently maces on untamed is better than hammer.
@LordHizen I'm sorry, I said Hammers but I meant the maces. You said in the video that celestial had better sustain and DPS. I'm just confused if you're saying the old build you made before with celestial gear is better, or if I should go with this build with berserkers and maces?
@@fullmetalathlete both are good options, the cele has more defense and healing the total damage is higher but maces like i mentioned can kill mobs faster than cele and can solo hard bosses if needed.
So both are good options to pick

I like how the showcase of the Revenant scepter was just the Revenant greatsword because the scepter is pretty much no good. To say I'm disappointed in how useful the scepter is would be a mild understatement, though not unexpected. I'm really not sure why they chose the scepter or its ability spread in the first place.

Funny that Elementalist Pistol, the weapon that probably took the most dev time with 4 different sets of weapon skills, is just a downgrade of what we currently have 😅
At least that's not the case on instanced content

I wish Staff would hit a bit harder.
tl;dr: Pistol WB, Mace UT and Axe DE are gucci. And all of them are also somewhat overperforming, which means they will likely get nerfed in the not so distant future.
Also SB Mech is cheese.

Just remember folks, they are constantly tweaking things, I think most of these weapons feeling underwhelming is by design so they can see how they perform in regular everyday usage before adjusting numbers.

You need to do part of the new story to unlock it. (Account wide unlock)
I weep, for I dreamed of the day mesmer could use rifles with funny mirror magic.
Now all I have is disappointment.
It's sad that using celestial for the shortbow mechanist is wasting condi and expertise stats because the bow has zero condi attacks.
I really wish if you had the expansions you didnt have to do all that crap to be able to fly your dragon on all the map
Berserker gear "thanks to the heal" doesnt make any sense to me. its supposed to be a support weapon. It needs healing power.
It means that the base healing on staff skills is enough to heal warrior to full HP, so you can go full berserker gear.
Check the showcase against the frog champ.
I disagree with with you about Mesmer Rifle. My quickness Alac Chrono uses it and it is virtually unkillable.
I can't wait until Rev gets the pistols so we can Pistol whip because God forbid, they give this class a range weapon.

Necro S/S is hella fun but extremely weak, but then again, both Reaper and Harbinger get their damage mostly from Shroud, not their main weapons.

With how mid all the new weapons feels, I find myself asking, "why bother adding it?"
ele main here, loving the pistol actually. im enjoying it more than sceptor, i think sceptor raw burning dmg is higher if camping fire, but there are more cc's on pistol which is amazing (and as adps its not like i can camp fire anyway). its a godsent in raids when our resident qdps herald refuses to switch to staff for cc cuz it "lowers his dps"
...orz. i really like that the soft cc's are maintained but pistol added dazes/hard cc's. i also do like that depending which skill u use ur bullet on, i get diff results. 2 for more dmg, 3 for more def/utility, exception being water where 2 gives self healing n 3 gives more bleed, my muscle memory is complaining at me lol).
im pretty happy with it, i like having 2 weapons that are about the same but i can take depending what i feel like or need (its like utilities that u switch up depending on encounter).
also im just sick of sceptor for my condi tempest 😂 (and i hate hammer so thats a none issue)

you write off pistol ele too quickly, it has one of the best sustains in ele kite with water autos and water skills, also water dual skills, all of that while being able to maintain some level of bleeding, the highest dps rotation on weaver has 3 elementls loops outside of weave self, one of them being fully attuning to water, also the dual attacks water+earth heals you + inflicts bleeding + barrie, the dual attack from water + air is also very good, a dodge, regen, stab and superspeed, if you can deal with the dual attacks its a fine weapon, if that weapon was power based instead of condi it would be a very good option for even competitive play, but it should be fine for weaver at least on ow, due to being able to burst condi, tempest is also fine but killing trash mobs will be a slog
Man, overall pretty disappointing. The weapon look so cool, especially as a Rev main. Hopefully some number tweaking happens
Number were already tweaked down. Its supposed to be a support weapon, not every weapon should do everything

we arent even gonna cover the fact that scepter 3 on herald can single handedly provide 19 might and fury without outside sources and 3k plus barrier? all within just using scepter 3 on an ally?
For those who are like...why? Heal herald. It basically lets you not need to use the might aura and can help maintain swiftness and fury instead since auto's provide might and barrier as well
